She was also very kind when my dog, of course, vomited in her store. Go figure. Thank god for animal people, for the world would be a lost cause without them! Aside from the dog food, she carries SO many different kinds of chews/rawhide/etc types of treats! A wide range of coats (from simple rain jackets to Russian winter worthy coats) and "clothes". I'm pretty sure she carried even more pet essentials, but I was 100% occupied with the vomit, coats, and treats to notice!

Pros: they carry high quality food and do run specials which they notify you of via post. They also have frequent buyer programs that are specific to the brand. The staff is friendly, although sometimes overbearing (I feel like I'm being constantly watched when I'm here) and for a small store it's usually got 4-6 people working so there's someone around to help you if you need it. They also have a toy selection which is better for dogs than for cats--but that is typical Cons: They carry a limited number of brands, especially of the natural food. I'm trying to switch my cat over to grain free canned food until I have time to deal with making her food. (yes, she is SPOILED! But she also has dietary restrictions which make it hard). They don't carry some brands that my cat really seems to enjoy such as Solid Gold, so I end up going to Petco. They also dont' have a very large selection of litter, and what they do carry seems to be overpriced, though I've only compared prices to the litter I currently buy. Their frequent buyer programs also seem to have a rather high number for canned foods so I haven't seen any benefit for that. The prices I pay are just slightly higher than other pet stores around for similar quality food (though different brands). Things are also packed in there, and the store is a little claustrophobic. It's a solid pet store. It's not nearly as big as other chain pet stores, but you'll probably find what you need.

I brought a couple lists of plants that were known to attract pollinators in my native state of California, and tried to ask the owner if he could recommend any VT natives from similar families (i.e. native penstemon, asters, etc.). He became infuriated during the conversation, at which point he seemed to snap and began screaming at me. When I attempted to tell him I felt like he was attacking me verbally, he responded with "I am attacking you". My partner and I left immediately, and will never return. Beautiful garden, but awful, inexcusable behavior by the owner. As a woman, I have never been more deeply offended or frightened by the actions of a total stranger. I left feeling completely violated and disrespected.

We have never had any issues at any boarding place but when we picked up our animals our dog had diarrhea in the parking lot and proceeded to have it for a week. Our cats have all been sick and sneezing and coughing and having diarrhea as well. My father in laws dog has kennel cough now and had diarrhea as well. When I called to inquire they brushed it off as anxiety and stress which we have never had an issues with before. We asked if there was anything else and they told us they board strays there as well and could not guarantee that diseases wouldn't spread due to this which was NEVER disclosed to us at any point or my wife's parents in the months leading up to us boarding or at any point during any of our communication. The vet my wife's parents took their dog to told them to not ever use this place again due to all of this and the high risk of disease spreading.

In this case, the store is way far, and the experience was so good, I had to break my rule. We found this store by Googling a product that a local organic landscaper told us to use on our lawn, called "Compost Tea" by a company called S.O.S for Your Soil. When we researched it, we saw anyone can make a homemade compost tea from their own compost (if you have some and it's good enough), but the natural lawn specialist we consulted told us this product would help. Long story short, Vermont Wildflower Farm carries this product, and we needed enough of it to get free shipping, which made it cheaper to buy from them than to run out to the native plant nursery near us. What was even better was the coupon code offered by Vermont Wildflower Farm, which saved us even more to just sit at home and click on the computer to order. AWESOME! I also called to speak to the man at Vermont Wildflower Farm to confirm this deal, and he was very gracious and helpful. He was very cheerful compared to the people around here. Must be the beautiful countryside up there. :-) Our order came quickly and they even included a free sample of their wildflower seeds, which I was tempted to buy when I shopped online, but now I can try them in our soil and see how they do and go buy more. That was a great touch! Next time we are up their way we will be sure to stop in. For now, we have brewed up our multiple, multiple 5-gallon buckets of compost tea and have treated the lawn and shrubs. Everything is looking really good so far. We will be sure to return to this store for more of the product when it's time for another seasonal treatment. Thank you Vermont Wildflower Farm for making this such a pleasant experience!

I think having just better lighting would help, the whole place was extremely dark. Someone needs to go around with a duster or cloth and just wipe some of the products/shelves, they look dirty and dusty. There are some haphazardly placed items all over the place - and not very much household/clothing items. When we first walked in there was 1 couch and 1 chair for sale, then the first front wall had some random garden/outdoor equipement. There was 1 baby stroller, about 2 racks of clothing and the rest was mostly non perishable food items. If you are in need of condiments, canned food, cereals, and the like they have a decent selection although most items are expired. I was not expecting the best selection, but some items like medication/vitamines/baby accessories and baby sunscreens for example should not be sold if they are past their due date. Although it's cheap, I don't know why anyone would risk using expired sunscreen on their baby without knowing if it's effective? That's the kind of item I would not buy, I don't want to risk a sunburn on my sensitive baby's skin. I was hoping to find some hidden treasures and thought perhaps this place could be like Ollie's bargain bin but our party of 4 left feeling sketched out. Won't be returning, there isn't enough stuff and nothing of value.
