I ordered a pound of wild lupine seeds (twice now). This turned out to be 1000s of seeds. (almost…read more2 cups worth) I have shared them with friends and family. We are planting the seeds to provide host plants for the Karner Blue to hopefully expand its range. When i ordered the first time I mentioned I didn't have any special discount codes but they gave me a discount anyway since I was a first time customer and had bothered just to ask in the comments area that was allowed on the order form. The seeds came quickly, within days of the order. i plan to try their low growing lawn mix next. My lupine seeds are sprouting, and I believe they will have great viability. Zone 5 MI

When there is a physical store location, and an online mail-order location, I normally don't like…read moreto leave a Yelp review unless I have been to the actual store, because that seems like the most authentic experience. In this case, the store is way far, and the experience was so good, I had to break my rule. We found this store by Googling a product that a local organic landscaper told us to use on our lawn, called "Compost Tea" by a company called S.O.S for Your Soil. When we researched it, we saw anyone can make a homemade compost tea from their own compost (if you have some and it's good enough), but the natural lawn specialist we consulted told us this product would help. Long story short, Vermont Wildflower Farm carries this product, and we needed enough of it to get free shipping, which made it cheaper to buy from them than to run out to the native plant nursery near us. What was even better was the coupon code offered by Vermont Wildflower Farm, which saved us even more to just sit at home and click on the computer to order. AWESOME! I also called to speak to the man at Vermont Wildflower Farm to confirm this deal, and he was very gracious and helpful. He was very cheerful compared to the people around here. Must be the beautiful countryside up there. :-) Our order came quickly and they even included a free sample of their wildflower seeds, which I was tempted to buy when I shopped online, but now I can try them in our soil and see how they do and go buy more. That was a great touch! Next time we are up their way we will be sure to stop in. For now, we have brewed up our multiple, multiple 5-gallon buckets of compost tea and have treated the lawn and shrubs. Everything is looking really good so far. We will be sure to return to this store for more of the product when it's time for another seasonal treatment. Thank you Vermont Wildflower Farm for making this such a pleasant experience!

American Meadows - 6/6/2023: I purchased wildflower seeds for my property; I need attracting bees pollinating all fruit trees/vegetables!

American Meadows is a plant business that was founded in the 1980s. It sells flower seeds, grass…read moreseeds, bulbs, potted plants, etcetera. The business buys the seeds and plants from growers around the world, and they test the seeds to ensure high germination rates. Recently, I was searching online for low-cost and low-maintenance plants that I could put in the soil behind my large retaining wall. On American Meadows's website, I read about their suggested plants based on my hardiness zone, the amount of sun and shade in my yard, plants that are good for bees and butterflies, plants that grow to a desired height, plants that grow back each year, etcetera. I decided to purchase a 5-pound bag of no-mow flowering lawn seed mix for a total of $136, which includes shipping, handling, and tax. The next day, the business shipped my package. A few days later, the post office delivered the package to my house. In the coming weeks and months, I will observe how the seeds germinate in my yard.

My second order had plants in better shape, but there were still dead and missing ones. That said, they're serious about their guarantee. In both cases, replacements were sent immediately when I told them of the issues, and because they sent three-packs to replace the missing rhizomes, I ended up with more plants than I ordered. Overall an okay experience. They're cheaper than some more reliable mail order places and they're a little less of a roll of the dice than Etsy. They have some things I couldn't find elsewhere too.
