He did not get any communication from the business stating this was not possible. By the close of business 4pm on that day they were still not delivered. Then I received a call at 5:10 stating they were outside my work "if you are still here". Needless to say I was not. I then had to make arrangements to pick up my own flowers. When I arrived to pick them up none of the flowers were blooming and they tried to give me just my flowers and forgot the chocolates. I had to remind them that they were ordered with chocolates. The long and short is this kind gesture turned into more work for us and not one flower to look at.

I believe the ferns I purchased there in May were infested with a frond eating caterpillar. After speaking with helpful staff, I learned they had an effective spray. I drove from Burlington, purchased the spray for $21.99 and a small spray bottle. I later learned the same spray, 32 ounces, was available at ACE hardware for $14.99. And the small spray bottle doesn't spray. An unfortunate experience at a business I've frequented for years. I will explore options closer to home.

They have a large variety of indoor plants and other items such as flower pots, candles, bath and body, and more. The staff is super friendly, and made sure our philodendron and other purchases were ready to travel home with us.

I hadn't started anything and sure as hell didn't give it just 3 stars! That being said, let us begin! Downtown Burlington! What a very unique, wonderful little area. Full of restaurants, name brand stores, bars, quaint little shops like this one, a wide open area lined with stores that gives off very Ithaca Commons vibes. The Commons back in the day were the shiiiiiiiit! Sadly nowadays...it's too commercialized. Burlington, VT tho...not so much. Sure they have a Patagonia store and some other bougie ass stores, but it still has that super chill vibe which made me happy. One bad thing...LOTS of homeless! LOTS! I get they are homeless, but wow! For a tiny city like Burlington...it's kinda mind blowing how many homeless they have all over the downtown area. Does that take away some of the magic that is..Burlington? Sure! Maybe a little! Then you come across adorable little stores like Home & Garden Vermont. What a (and I never use this word .. like ever lol but..) what a charming little store. Little bit of everything in there. It's the type of store that tourists absolutely love. Even the high prices don't seem to phase most tourists...then there is me haha! I'm cheap af. So appreciating these types of stores is more my cup of tea lol. Although, I came close to buying a few things in these little stores. My brother and I would see something and be like "let's check the others to see if the prices are any cheaper" They. were, not. Haha! If you saw a very cool Stowe or Burlington t-shirt in one store for $33 ... best beweave..it's $33 in the next one. These stores make their money regardless of cheap fks like myself...and I'm glad they do, Stores like Home & Garden Vermont add so much of that amazing magic that is felt throughout the downtown area. The staff is beyond sweet. Very nice lady helped us when we were there. Very bubbly, smiley, just an incredibly nice human. I did go up to her tho and told her that her store gave off Schitts Creek vibes. Yall remember, Rose Apothecary?? For some reason, parts of this store very much made me think of Patrick and David in their little Schitts Creek shop haha. The employee laughed and she said "all we need is David and we'd be set" haha! Rose Apothecary, now that I think of it...a lot of the stores around downtown are quaint like that. However, Home & Garden, I actually felt like it was like..a sister store of Rose Apothecary haha! I loved when David and Patrick opened that store in that series. I love love stores like that. So it was kind of special to walk in to this store and immediately feel that. Even my brother agreed. So I know I'm not like crazy haha. Store is very nice. Nicely laid out. They pay close attention to details in Home & Garden Vermont. They know exactly where to place everything for maximum exposure. Their front windows are even very homey to look at for the "window shoppers" What a great little shop. This was my first time ever in Vermont. I grew up in upstate New York, too! I know this will not be my first and last time in Vermont. Autumn on the east coast is something that is like no other. As a photographer, VT is like a dream come true during Autumn. Point of me saying that is...I know I will be back and I look forward to going to this little store again and all the others around the downtown area. Seeing as my family is still in upstate NY, yeah, I know I'll be back. Home and Gardrn VT...thank you for a very pleasant experience. You certainly will never be forgotten. Thank you to the employee(s) for being so friendly. When they say "shop local" This is a FANTASTIC store to do that at! Doesn't have to just be for tourists! I hope I didn't leave anything out! White's has a great selection of trees and we've been going there almost every year, except for the…read moreyears they closed before we got our tree or were traveling for Christmas. We've never had a complaint before, but, this year we, unfortunately, got charged for an 8 foot tree when ours turned out to be barely over 7 feet. I wasn't thinking about it when I paid for it until on the way home my husband was upset that I paid more and said there was no way that tree was 8 feet. When we set it up at home it's at least 4" from our less than 8 ft ceilings and that's in the tree stand that raises it a couple inches. So we paid $10 more for our tree. I don't know if that is a complaint about service since they hand you a little plastic slip that shows what to pay and I didn't see a color coded price sheet, and, it was partly my fault for having a conversation with the clerk while paying and not realizing the price was over what it should have been. They do a nice job of shaking trees, wrapping trees, helping put them in the car and have a nice "assembly line" for doing so. If White's are reading this, I would love it if you would put that extra $10 in the Camp TaKumTa jar. I have often supported that camp in memory of my little sister who died from leukemia. Thanks!

I love this place for getting a Christmas Tree and will go here every year!…read more This is a "cut your own tree" farm. The 5 stars assumes you want to cut your own tree - if not, you may get a surprise when you find that there are not any precut trees. Bob and Joan White own the farm. When you arrive, they will ask you if you have a saw - you're greeted when you drive in. We didn't and they gave us a nice, sharp, easy to use saw. The trees are organized by type on the farm. If you don't know what type of tree you want, you can drive around or you can ask for suggestions. The pathways to drive through are farm ground, but well maintained, so there is no worries about getting stuck. I wanted a Frazier Fur tree (the best tree for looks and holding it's needles in my opinion. The best tree all around.) I asked for the Fraziers and was pointed to the left. We drove around looking. We found a good patch of trees and got out to walk. My wife spotted our tree. It was perfect. I cut 'er down. I could have put it on our vehicle, but I thought it best to take my prize and carry it back to the barn. At the barn, they shake the tree, wrap it and help put it on your car (we have an SUV) and tie it down. Inside you get free hot chocolate. We bought our 2010 ornament - hand made in Vermont - and some maple candies to share with out of state family. The people are nice and very helpful. This was a picturesque family day driving to the country to get our family Christmas tree.
