Update: Changed to 3 Star. I appreciate the feedback and I hope the next time we work together it works out much more streamlined. I'm a personal assistant for someone who owns a vacation rental on the lake so I schedule all the work that needs to be done on the property. Scheduling with this company was hit and miss. I would call and leave a message then no one would call back. A lady answered one time and she said she would have someone call back. I had to call back 2 more times to actually get a phone call back. Finally got someone scheduled to come out and do some work but then they started calling the owner of the property and trying to schedule with her. I explained that I was the contact on the job but to no avail. I then kept getting different stories from the property owner and the guys that were taking and making the phone calls. Finally the guys came out today to do the work, but when they were done they just LEFT! They didn't say they were done or what they had done to repair one of my gutters. PLUS SIDE...they did offer a discount for not coming out two days that they said they would and never showed up. read more

I should have written this review four years ago when I first found Gutter Tech through Yelp and used them for my gutter installation. But here I am, four years later, getting some more gutter work done by GT. I called up GT last week to schedule an estimate on some final work I needed done. When they installed my gutters before I had a patio cover that attached to my roof, but since then have taken it down. Brad, the owner of the company, came out himself to take a look at the project and quote me a price. Before we even made it to the backyard he noticed some issues with my present gutters, which his company installed. He obviously takes his work seriously. He saw that some of them were pulling away from the roof. No fault of his own, but an issue caused by my home not having gutters for thirty years and the substrate he had to work with really was kind of crappy. He started mentioning we should do a little 'refab' work on the old gutters as well as install the new. And of course I'm thinking, 'here we go' the bill is just going to get bigger and bigger. But it didn't. He quoted me the price my new gutters would cost and dropped it. Said he was glad I used him again and that was how he liked to treat his regular clients. Then we just stood around shoot the sh%$, talking about everything but gutters. He's a good ol boy that you just want to invite into your home and have a beer with. Brad shoots it straight and does great work. And if he thinks he hasn't done the best work, his word is as good as the warranty that his gutters already have. Do not use Gutter Tech Austin. Buyer Beware. Gutter Tech's work was substandard in numerous ways. The most, the very most, important competency for a gutter company is to be able to design and install gutters that don't leak and will handle the water runoff load for the particular roof. On my home, the one area where it was absolutely essential that the gutters work, was the back terrace. Gutter Tech advised 5" gutters would adequately handle the roof drain volumes. I disagreed and ordered 6" gutters. Even with six inch gutters, the gutters over the terrace stairs constantly leak. The gutter leaks at the terrace because Gutter Tech did not design a proper turn and transfer in the gutter assembly over the terrace stairs. The very reason I am writing this review today is because I am having to take time out of my week to hire another gutter company to repair Gutter Tech's work. Gutter Tech workers misrepresented their customer list causing me to have confidence in their work that was not deserved. They do not have the credibility with production builders they assert. Gutter Tech workers cut trim where all they had to do was move the concrete pad below the gutter down-pipe. This necessitated my having to open up a new job to make carpentry repairs including painting. Gutter Tech does not take responsibility for their defective work. When we got into the early stages of a dust-up over the cost of repairs and the amount to adjust their bill, Gutter Tech rushed straight to the Courthouse and filed a mechanic's lien on my home. Rather than adjust their bill by one penny, Gutter Tech took harsh legal action. Buyer Be Ware! Replacing my aging PVC gutters that feed my 30K gallon rainwater collection household water supply has been an on-again, off-again project of mine for 2-3 years and I got a lot of bids and talked to a lot of gutter-folk over that period. (Whooda thunk there was so many different leaf guard products out there?) Here's what I learned: - There are big guys and little guys. Go with the little guy. Big guy bids were ridiculously high. One in particular, Austin Gutter King, was late, unresponsive, poorly-managed, arrogant and 3 times what I eventually paid. (whew-got that off my chest!) - Get the right little guy, but you have to investigate more deeply than Home Advisor, Angie's List and the other top 10 Google hits to find them: in business for a long time, good Yelp and BBB reviews, owner engagement, quick and attentive response. I found 3 that fit and would have been happy (I think) with any of them. - Best of those was Gutter Tech Rick responded so quickly on the bid survey, I was unable to be there for it. Got all the important details from my wife and sent a comprehensive and understandable bid back right away. It was so much lower than everybody else's, I had to call back and interrogate him to make sure he understood the scope of the project. He did. Rick's a USMC veteran. I like that. Easy to deal with front office staff (the owner's wife) to confirm and lock in bid. Brad, the owner, and Rick, the Foreman came out themselves at 5:30 pm on 100 degree day to tear down the old gutter. Crew (Luis and Sergio), communicative and professional, showed up on schedule afterwards and knocked out a big project on an even hotter two days. Owner Brad inspected next day and suggested a couple of fixes to mesh with existing rainwater collection system, done quickly and with no extra cost. Quote from Brad, "I'm not in the gutter business, I'm in the building relationships business". I believe him. If it ever rains again, we'll see how well the gutter performs, but it looks good and it's solidly installed. Highly recommend Brad, Rick, Kathy and Crew at Gutter Tech. read more

Had Rick come out to give us an estimate. We were not very knowledgeable of this and unfortunately went with him. The guys showed up, the left after 15 minutes. Never returned. 3 days later after calling and calling Rick, he showed up out of blue with no explanation. We were at the mercy of this inept man. Had them finish it but after had it inspected by an expert. Was horrible. Rick never returned calls or concerns, work was below grade, and we ended up having issues redone out of our pocket. Be aware, compare prices, and definitely do your research in who is qualified and who's not. Cost us couple thousand. Unprofessional, rude, and dissatisfied. Update- I saw the response which doesn't shock us. We laughed because we have video of Rick and guys from our security we kept and our checks made to them. Rick did not give us a safe feeling at all and the guys who initially showed up/then left were very confused as well because they didn't know what needed to be done. Rick never showed or called that day. Was a rude inconvenience. Days later it was some other batch of guys who did it and was just horrible. I'm not sure how long it's been now, but we remodeled about 5-7 years ago. We had some fairly serious drainage problems on the lot of the house we have been in for 37 years so we wanted to be careful about the water. We did install some new drainage in the ground to move water around the house, but we also purchased Gutter Tech gutters and piped that water into the system. We also had covers put on our gutters by Gutter Tech and they do seem to keep the gutters working even with many large oaks shedding something year round. The result is that the water from the roof moves extremely quickly around our house to points we direct it, and other water has exits as well. The water that Gutter Tech moves is amazing. The Brad Hill and Rick Rodriguez installed gutters on another house for me as a result. I believe in all the years, they stand ready to tune up, fix or adjust anything I should need to make these gutters work better, but the truth is, they perform exactly as designed year after year. read more

We got three bids: Guttertech, Austin Gutterman, and Austin Gutter King. We chose Guttertech based on price and my bias for smaller companies (if they seem trustworthy). Guttertech pro: + It's a small operation, so Brad, the owner, did the estimate, answered technical follow-up questions, and supervised the work. I like dealing with one person, especially when that person knows all aspects of the operation. + On a per-foot basis, they were cheaper than the big guys. (Though it was hard to compare, as each estimate covered a different amount of work -- I was getting talked into more work with each subsequent estimate.) + Brad is honest and knowledgable. He talked me into a complete system plus flashing, but without any pressure, and I'm glad he did. + They took their time and did a good job, plus some extras. One of the guys took pictures of some stucco damage that was only visible from the roof and Brad explained how I could fix it, and told me he could recommend somebody if I wasn't comfortable doing it myself. Brad also swung by during the first rainstorm since he was in the neighborhood to make sure there were no leaks. (I think it helps that I got the work done in the off-season and they all had a little spare time.) + They fixed a mistake promptly and completely. One downspout was in the wrong location, so they had to replace a long run of gutter and patch/paint the holes. They did that on the next dry day. Guttertech con: + It took a week to get the initial estimate, and another week to get an update after I asked for clarification. (It was the holiday season, so they may have been taking some time off.) + They missed their first installation date because the prior job ran long. But Brad called to let me know they weren't going to make it on time, and they were on time the next morning. + Brad is very personable, so if you let him, he'll talk your ear off. This could be a "pro" instead of a "con" except that I almost missed a meeting while chatting. :-) read more

This review is long over due. We had a gutter that peeld away from our house (literally hanging) after being clogged up with wet leaves. I called gutter tech and they took a look at all my gutters and made some suggestions which I have to say after a few rain storms (e.g., Hurricane Harvey) have worked like a charm. Brad recommended some larger downspouts, elongated the downspout arms so that it was no longer eroding our soil, and cut some dranange holes so that water could flow from one gutter above to the one below (and thefore alleviate clogging). They listened to what I wanted (e.g., this downspout a little shorter so I don't run over it with my car). Very happy! read more

The gutters blended so well with the color of the house that it took me 4 days to realize that they had been installed. The workers left no evidence that they had even been there to install them. I had 5 companies bid my gutter job. Prices from different companies ranged from $1200 up to $5000. Gutter Tech was the second lowest at $1700, they were the nicest to work with (sales, phone, and owner), and their price included 2nd floor gutters which none of the others recommended. In the end they squeezed me up to $2000 because of my Rustic Copper color-choice was only available in the larger gutter-size (unless I wanted to wait over a month). They knocked out the install in a few hours, and I am incredibly happy with both the look and the rain performance (overkill with larger size + 2nd floor can't be a bad thing). The cheap black-fence leaf-guard they used seems to work just fine, so I am glad I didn't splurge for the mesh-screen designs for $4000 or $5000 from GutterMaxx/others. They worked with me to have the gutters empty in to my eBay rain-barrels, and to hang an eBay rain-chain in the front. I would highly recommend Gutter Tech for a great price and install of standard seamless gutters. (I also highly recommend the new Rustic Copper textured-color) read more
