This was one of my favorite dinners while visiting Barcelona, and a place a would definitely recommend to friends visiting in the future! Although I don't have allergies I have many friends who do and find it hard to dine out while still enjoying something authentic. Gut was perfect on our trip because everything felt healthy and refreshing but also unique and exciting which was exactly what we were looking for! We split the felafel, chicken curry, and beef dish and everything was incredible. Felafel was probably my favorite though! They had really good wine, Aperol spritz, and we split the brownie with ice cream. I loved everything. And I can't say enough good things about the service. Our servers were so kind to us and helpful and it made the whole experience so enjoyable. The restaurant is small but feels elevated and local in a non-touristy area. Truly would come back here if I am ever in Barcelona again! read more

...another star needed....to stretch to here^ I can't begin to describe the presence of this restaurant in a country were vegetables live in fear of being eaten by the abundant pigs or cow, raised to feed the hearty Spanish, resigning themselves to the maximum plate allocation of just less than 1%. This restaurant offers well prepared dishes with vegan and carnivorous options-all to perfection. Found this place walking distance from Casa Mila thanks to Yelpers. Turned out to be our favorite meal in Barcelona. The mussels were unique and fantastic, and so was the pad thai, veggie gyoza, and very interesting sea bass cocktail with mango. The desserts were terrific as was the service, and they didn't rush us. I swear, it's pointless to get food recommendations in Barcelona because there's great food all over. read more

Were two for two in Barcelona so far thanks Yelpers Asked our server Nicola for some recommendations of what she liked on the menu. The first thing she said was that the muscles were very good, she was wrong they were spectacular! Best I and my group of four have ever had. The fresh baked bread dipped in the muscle broth could have been a meal on its own. Falafel, squid with prawns and the rest of the meals were of the same caliber. If you have an intolerance to soy, lactose, gluten, nuts, shellfish... or even fully allergic or have celiac disease, this is the menu you want in front of you!The staff will make sure nothing lands on your plate that you cannot tolerate. It gets better. I am gluten intolerant and bread was served with a tiny bowl of squash soup. I asked the server if it was "sin gluten" and he confirmed, yes, gluten-free bread. It was clearly homemade and super tasty! A real treat! The waiters speak English as well as Spanish and maybe even Catalan, as this gem is in a great neighborhood of Barcelona called Gràcia. The food really was delicious and well prepared. The simple "salad" side dish was so good, I could have had it as a main dish! It had pomegranate seeds, red onions, a delicious vinagrette and more tasty items that I didn't take the time to figure out. The restaurant has candlelight ambience, so everything wasn't crystal clear to see. I arrived on a Friday night without a reservation and was in luck to get a 2-top. Friendly staff. Wow. WOW. Gut is quite an exquisite dining experience. For any dietary restrictions, Gut is the place to be. Their menu is extremely friendly to whatever diet you may have. Our group was comprised of a shellfish allergy, no nuts, no dairy, and no gluten, and Gut satisfied everyone! Their selection was on point, and the prices certainly did not break the bank. Not to mention, the design of the restaurant is modern and comfy and the staff are so attentive and friendly. 110% would recommend. I will certainly be back if I find myself in Barcelona! read more

I found out that I'm not a fan of most tapas bars or paella, and so finding excellent food in Barcelona quickly became a challenge for me. Even worse - I prefer cook-to-order food and hot meals. (I get it; I'm a high maintenance eater!) Gut was about a block and a half away from where I was staying and delicious! I came in for a pre-fixe lunch that included bread service, water, a drink, soup, and a small lunch portion for 11 euros. (Americans, bread and water do not come free with any meal in Barcelona.) It was perfect! The food was simply outstanding, and this was the first thing I gobbled up on the trip (and maybe the last!) The staff was very friendly and able to communicate in English with me. The place was trendy, modern, small, and rather intimate. It must be a local favorite because it was simply packed by the time we left (1pm?) I would highly recommend this place over MANY, MANY others in Barcelona. It's sort of tucked away, but it is a gem! read more

Our experience at Gut was excellent. It was virtually impossible to find an open restaurant in Gracia in the middle of August, thankfully we stumbled upon Gut! The staff were super friendly and accommodating, we have a fairly fussy three year old daughter. We started with dips and bread, which very flavourful. We had a vegetarian rice dish which was very good and a plate of Thai inspired mussels with frites, which were the best part of our meal. Just had a great vegan dinner with my wife on our first night in Barcelona. Before we started they brought us an amuse bouche of a hummus made with beetroot and chickpeas. Then we ordered a nice bottle of red wine. For an appetizer, we split a bowl of watermelon and celery root gazpacho with a spoonful of sorbet on top, which they split into two bowls in the kitchen for us. The gazpacho was cool, refreshing, and delicious. We then had the tofu stir fry over brown rice and a vegan Pad Thai. Both were very good. Service was very good, as well. read more

They could be had as tapas, though are bigger and priced accordingly. Expect about €15 for a main. The area around there is lovely, though the atmosphere of Gut is not as good as elsewhere we went. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan options and also great for those with allergies as they will provide delicious food for you. It has a whole vegetarian menu where all the meals are vegan as well and is great value for money. We were provided with water, bread and a free starter each at our table. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and the place quickly filled up as the night went on, so make a reservation in advance. A beautiful restaurant in the best Barcelona neighbourhood (in my humble opinion.) Places like this are rare for those of us with Celiac's disease so it's always a score to stumble across them. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambiance was relaxing...overall a great experience. The mussels were delicious as was the octopus, although I didn't care much for the millet salad served with it.
