The idea of the app is a rescue food not that you rescue food that you wouldn't feed anyone. Stale food is not food to be rescued. If I could give them zero stars I would I really felt upset. The interior of Joe's is awesome, with the walls stocked with a great supply of Italian cooking fare. As you journey towards the deli counter you're immediately greeted with an offer to sample the fresh, house made mozzarella. Captain obvious pro tip: SAMPLE THE MOZZ To put it plainly, this was the best mozzarella I have ever had in my life, and I am someone who enjoys his mozz. It had a delicious milky flavor, was extremely smooth, and had a wonderful salt profile that took it to another level. It was truly amazing. I could go on about it forever, but in the essence of time... Our intent was to order 2 chicken parm heroes, but the man at the counter who gave us the mozz sample recommended the 'Brontese' and after reading the ingredients (Prosciutto diParma, fresh mozz, wild arugula, Sicilian pistachio cream, evoo, cracked pepper) I went for it. Needless to say it may have been the best deli sandwich I've ever had. The way the pistachio combined with the prosciutto and mozzarella-but didn't overtake it, was amazing. So to go along with my Brontese, we ordered a Chicken Parm, and a Bronx Bee (crispy chicken cutlet, hot honey drizzle, fresh mozz, sweet soppressata, hot cherry peppers, baby arugula) and loved them all. Outrageous value as sandwich prices are extremely reasonable. Awesome experience at Joe's. The staff was incredible...helpful, kind, and went out of their way to talk food with us. The location and atmosphere were perfect. And the food....you have to try it to believe it.

All in all, it's a great spot, and I can definitely see us coming back the next time we're in the area. The interior is classic Italian deli market, lined with shelves fully stocked with great Italian cooking staples. It's a classic, perfect neighborhood deli setup that gives you that local little Italy vibe. The Italian sandwich was really good--packed with ham, cotto salami, and mortadella, with incredible, well-balanced flavors. All on a tasty sesame seed soft roll. Even my daughter, who isn't usually a sandwich person, took a few bites! Prices are fair for what you get. The sandwich was so large, we saved 1/2 to eat in the Zoo later in the day. The staff was solid--helpful and kind. I was a little sad we didn't get the fresh mozzarella samples that a lot of Yelp reviews mentioned. The other minor downside was the wait: it took nearly 15 minutes to get our sandwich, which is probably the longest I've ever waited for an Italian sub. Still, a great overall experience. More importantly, the price to value "mathed!"

A must visit market for your fruits and veggies. The farmers' that come here are small family-owned farms from NY & NJ! Everything they carry is fresh, local, and organic with no pesticides or spray. And as if all of the above PLUS having a farmers' market up here in the Bronx isn't amazing enough their prices are ridiculous!!! They are often the same if not cheaper than the regular stuff we find in our supermarkets. Really, I find this to be pretty incredible because organic food is usually so much more expensive, but not here. I went there today and picked up apples, plums, peaches, kale, red basil (smells AMAZING), eggplant, zucchini, cucumbers, tomato, beets and organic corn (I stressed organic because what we find in stores is mostly genetically modified corn) - my total was under $25. The market often has cooking demos and you can always find literature on food education, recipes, seasonality, recycling, etc. and the beautiful ladies that organize this truly do an amazing job and are very passionate about everything the market stands for. If are a local make an effort to stop by you will not be disappointed. Go support!!!

I went to the farmers market this week up in Kingsbridge since I missed the Saturday one in Inwood. When I arrived to the market I was...surprised. There's only one stand! When I think of a farmers market I imagine 10+ vendors selling a variety of locally sourced goods. The stand that was there only has fruits and veggies. I didn't think to ask at the time if there are more vendors during the spring/summer season. The individuals that were running this particular stand were warm and welcoming! At the market I picked up zucchini, squash, and a mini-bucket of brussel sprouts. My favorite part of this market was its affordability - those three items for $5.75?! Sign. Me. UP! The veggies were fresh and great in my dinner Sunday evening. At the end of the day I did have to run to Aldi to pick up items I was hoping to purchase at this market. But it won't stop me from coming back since the prices can't be beat, and I hope they can feature more vendors in the future!

The pignoli were great...they had that signature almond taste, just right. Very enjoyable. And the cannoli cream center was a nice touch, and very good as well. The rainbow cookies were ok.
