I feel comfortable going back here. As a woman alone, it's a little scary to take care of a car and be dealing with all kinds of people that can certainly rip you off easily cause I've already been ripped off by a Bellmore. Mechanic that I've gone to for years.! I feel as that when I went to my regular place in Bellmore that he was trustworthy, but I found out not so much when I really needed the help! So glad I found Gus's and everyone in the office is so pleasant to deal with! I recommend them highly

He had replaced the brakes and worked on two rotors in past years as well. This time, because I do very little driving and had the brakes replaced the year before at Lexus of Freeport, I decided to get a second opinion at Mavis ( something I do not usually do). Mavis took off the rim to Inspect my brakes and said that I did Not need them at all. I called Gus and was told he never actually looked at the brakes, he had never removed to cover to see. Yet they scheduled an appointment for me to replace the brakes. Also, the windshield wiper they put on in January 2025 does not touch the glass - so that's not working. I put my trust in Gus Auto shop and wonder if the previous work all these years was substandard & not needed. For example, I also had changed the oil and the car did not feel like the oil was changed. Probably the car engine is damaged because another customer has the same complaint. - I asked for Mobile 1 & I felt at the time that I did not get that oil or possibly no new oil. So although he and the office staff are nice to me I no longer trust what's happening there. Too bad!

I just came back from getting my car inspected. I use West Park Service Station at Lafayette and…read morePark Ave. I've been using him for years. Devin is the owner and right now he's working alone since he had to lay off all his employees. He's lost 95% of his business due to the coronavirus. I've always felt Devin was an honest man, very important in auto repair. There were several times he could have made an unnecessary repair but didn't. He also has free air for cars and bikes at the side of his shop. Anyway, I got my oil changed and some brake work done while he was at it. The brake work could have held off but I thought I'd help him out over these trying times. His honesty was once again evident when I asked him to check the battery because it failed this week and I had to get a jump due to inactivity, I had the battery a good while. He said it held a charge fine, no need. The guy stays honest even though he's trying hard to keep his business open. So, if you have an inspection coming up or nearing an oil change maybe you can get the latter done early to help him out. He's Long Beach local so it would help us all to keep him going if we can. If you feel you can use his service his number is 516 432 6581 or 516 432 6587. Can get work done quickly now, of course, no waiting. Be well, Lee

The parts needed to do my repair were exorbitantly marked up to say the lease. He marked up by 100 to 200 % on every part. After trying to charge me $1000 extra. My original quote was $2850, when I went to pick it up the cost rose to $3950. He lied to me and told me that I needed a water pump which was actually included in the original repair quote. Anyway I could go on slating this garage but I don't want to bore you good people reading this. I will not be going back and I surely do not recommend anybody bring their car here. Oh one last thing. After I paid the repair cost I left the garage and guess what ! The engine light came on. I went straight back and they cleared some codes. Left a second time only for the codes to return with the same issues. I actually looked up the codes myself and showed them what was wrong from a YouTube video. They had reassembled the engine incorrectly and my YouTube video helped them correct the problem on my 3rd visit back. GO FIGURE how these guys have happy customers is just beyond me.

Come to find out the new fuel pump they were just going to order and try to have me say yes to would have cost 695.00$ just for the part. I said absolutely not and then was charged for their mistake of deciding to take out the fuel pump and then they had to reinstall it so it cost me 150.00$ for them to tell me my gas gauge isn't working probably and you should take it back to your normal mechanic. Wish there was another shop in Long Beach but I'll be more then happy to go to RVC for a good mechanic with ethical morals.
