For the past 3+ months it was a nightmare with my tankless hot water and various service technicians. Inspite of so many services and parts replaced, i end up buying a new Bosch tankless hot water. While searching for the best/authorized installer listed by FortisBC and from ratings and feedback from various customers, I found 'Guru Contracting' and decided to go with them to install the new hot water tank. I got atleast 10 different quotes and he seems to be the lowest and agreed to accommodate my timings. Raj from Guru contracting came and to my surprise, he is an awesome guy with wealth of knowledge in this line and agreed to come and install on a Weekend (eventhough he got some other prinority work). He came on time and started the work with re-piping and recommended to go with various plan that suits my need. It took few hours of work and he did near to the perfection. I am very much impressed and satisfied with the quality of workmanship he put to finish my work on time. Most of all, he charges less and so easy to get work done. Our personal experience with GURU Contracting exceeded our expectations and we would HIGHLY recommend them without hesitation. When I called them they listened and assessed the problem over the phone and came to our home the same day within a few hours of contacting them. They fixed the problem temporarily and ordered parts and returned the next day. They communicated very professionally with us and were very reliable - in that, if he said he would arrive by a certain time, he did...there was no 'waiting' around for us. In all honesty, I thought I was going to spend the night without any heat, but Raj assured me that it was a priority for them to complete the job and even went out to get a part from a supplier and came back to keep their word. Stay away I'm usually not a complainer however I thought this must be put out there so people can be aware of these scammers. I called Guru Service group to repair my furnace, and a Tech came out and told me that whoever installed my A/C over furnace didn't do a good job and my furnace requires a replacement. I could tell from his troubleshooting skills that he wasn't qualified\certified electrician and didn't know what he was doing. Then he said it could be the controller board or the blower and as this furnace is old so parts are not available and I should get a new one. He didn't fix the furnace but charged me for replaced parts. Total scam. read more

Worst ever service, I booked an appointment for furnace and the guy showed up told me I should replace the furnace without even opening it and looking at it. He replaced a coil with used one which didn't fix anything and then he told me that it's too old to fix so we have to replace it and charged me ($350 + GST) for it. Wouldn't give me a quote for new one and said this charge was only for this call. Very unethical business practice. I've a broken furnace and just paid $350 to someone for telling me that. read more
