On the first visit, she talked about "white blood pressure" and it all made sense to us that my mother did not need the statins in the first place. When at home, her blood pressure is always good. And only in doctor's clinics does she feel stressed thus register high blood pressure everytime she sees a doctor! Dr. Sam treated my mother in 4 visits, explaining the big nerve and the muscles that are impacted by the exercises that she taught my mom. She not only healed her, she empowered my mother. I also appreciate that she truly listens. We could have been shunned for "reading too much in the internet", but she never did that, in fact, she walks with us in the thought process of understanding my mom's pain.

The office is a good mix of professional and casual. When you walk in, JB at the front desk is friendly and helpful every single time. Anything that I needed in regards to scheduling and insurance coverage, JB resolved in a timely and accurate way. When I first moved to Evanston, I was not satisfied with other local chiropractors who used scare tactics to try and lock me in to large and expensive packages. I went to my evaluation with Dr. Ahrens and it only took an hour to know that he was the right chiropractor. He did a thorough evaluation and did not push any unrealistic and absurd packages on me that would lock me into visits and payments. Each week, the visit was specialized to my needs and would consist of muscle work, stretching, and an adjustment. The care week after week was consistent and I knew what I was getting. Whether you are dealing with aches, pains, post-accident trauma, or just needs a little self care, Dr. Ahrens is your guy.

I first spoke with Tatiana at the front desk about my pain and she was extremely patient and thorough. She spent 20 minutes on the phone with me to make sure I got an appointment with the right person, to find a time that worked best for my schedule, and to make sure that my insurance covered everything. Not only was I in pain, but I was also frustrated because I didn't know what my injury was and what to do to get better. Dr. Ashley Lederman not only was able to diagnose me right away, but I felt so much better even after 1 visit with her. She set me up on a treatment plan for 6 weeks - 1/week. 5 sessions later the pain is gone! 5 days before my last visit, I started getting a throbbing pain in my arm that was worse than my leg pain. I figured I could wait until my next visit and have her look at it. The pain got so bad though that I couldn't wait and wanted to go in the next day. Tatiana made sure I was able to schedule a visit for the next day. Again, Dr. Lederman was able to diagnose me right away and determined it stemmed from the same back issue. While the arm pain is not completely gone, it feels significantly better than it did before I went in. That says a lot considering how badly I have been in pain for 4 days. She is a miracle worker! Tatiana and Dr. Lederman are so friendly and personable too. I am going to be moving away from the area, but I know that if I have any other issues in the future, I will make the trip to come to this location. It will be worth the trip. Before I started seeing Dr. Meggie regularly, my back was in agony after playing only 2 or 3 hours. Since seeing her I am able to play 5 hours at a time, and often I don't feel any pain afterwards. Went there cause of the $20 X-ray and adjustment. They then offer you a full check and get your insurance info. Then they comeback with the fact that you need this service, this is ever you are now and where you are headed....yada yada yada! Then they break down the cost. They are very good at this, dont take my words, read the other reviews but here is their approach: "Your total plan is $6000. Since you have good insurance, they will cover $4000. And you will pay $2000 out of pocket. We have a special deal today where we will give you a discount or $800 and all you have to pay is $1200" This is a good tactic to get customers. THEY ARE REALLY GOOD ABOUT THIS. So, i did half of the sessions they wanted me to do for a few months. After I notice zero improvements, i told them i wanted to end it. Eventually i just stopped going. They ordered me a back support band and billed my insurance over $800. I had purchased a similar one through amazon before for $50.00. This was the time I realized they were a scam. I am sorry. But this is how it felt for me.

I paid and scheduled an appointment for a checkup. I waited for maybe an hour and they basically kicked me out after talking for 20 minutes when I said I didn't want to schedule multiple appointments with them and pay them more (mainly because I didn't have all the facts about what they could offer me yet). I never even got what I originally signed for, which was a checkup. The assistant just asked me questions to create a profile and once the chiropractor took over, he tried to upcharge me without even checking my back. He talked very professionally but was very condescending. Maybe because I was a college student? Doesn't mean I didn't have insurance or money. It just sucks because I finally decided to give something a shot out of curiosity and to learn more about this profession when I didn't have to. In the moment, I didn't really have the confidence to ask for my money back and I was a pushover but in hindsight I should have for wasting my time and for treating me as if I was a burden. Thinking about the experience actually makes me feel sad. I've never felt so humiliated.
