During mid November 2023, Dr. McCrackan adjusted my left foot many times. That very same day he had someone from his office call me and cancel future appointments until I had a reevaluation. The reevaluation occurred two weeks later, and he told me that I "was too messed up below the knees for him to work on, that it would take a long time to rehab my foot, and that he would only work on my back moving forward." My physical therapist discovered that my left heel was displaced to the left and that there appeared to be some disjointment in the foot. I am continuing to work on rehabbing the foot in physical therapy. Dr. McCrackan had also referred me to his associate for an orthotic fitting.I was instructed to break in the orthotics according to a certain schedule. Attempting to do this with an injured foot appears to have exacerbated my injury. Dr. McCrackan had not communicated my injury to Dr. Fergus prior to my orthotic fitting. Their website states that the average cost for a 30 minute appointment is between 88 -150 dollars. A number of my charges were over $200. I was charged $50 and more for one PT exercise. Reviews were solicited early on in treatment. The responses to my complaints about my injury and about the charges seemed defensive and uncaring about both concerns. I regret having sought treatment at Cornerstone.

The office is a good mix of professional and casual. When you walk in, JB at the front desk is friendly and helpful every single time. Anything that I needed in regards to scheduling and insurance coverage, JB resolved in a timely and accurate way. When I first moved to Evanston, I was not satisfied with other local chiropractors who used scare tactics to try and lock me in to large and expensive packages. I went to my evaluation with Dr. Ahrens and it only took an hour to know that he was the right chiropractor. He did a thorough evaluation and did not push any unrealistic and absurd packages on me that would lock me into visits and payments. Each week, the visit was specialized to my needs and would consist of muscle work, stretching, and an adjustment. The care week after week was consistent and I knew what I was getting. I first spoke with Tatiana at the front desk about my pain and she was extremely patient and thorough. She spent 20 minutes on the phone with me to make sure I got an appointment with the right person, to find a time that worked best for my schedule, and to make sure that my insurance covered everything. Not only was I in pain, but I was also frustrated because I didn't know what my injury was and what to do to get better. Dr. Ashley Lederman not only was able to diagnose me right away, but I felt so much better even after 1 visit with her. She set me up on a treatment plan for 6 weeks - 1/week. 5 sessions later the pain is gone! 5 days before my last visit, I started getting a throbbing pain in my arm that was worse than my leg pain. I figured I could wait until my next visit and have her look at it. The pain got so bad though that I couldn't wait and wanted to go in the next day. Tatiana made sure I was able to schedule a visit for the next day. Again, Dr. Lederman was able to diagnose me right away and determined it stemmed from the same back issue. While the arm pain is not completely gone, it feels significantly better than it did before I went in. That says a lot considering how badly I have been in pain for 4 days. She is a miracle worker! Tatiana and Dr. Lederman are so friendly and personable too. I am going to be moving away from the area, but I know that if I have any other issues in the future, I will make the trip to come to this location. It will be worth the trip. Update: Hi everyone - I just wanted to share l a quick update on my posture and neck alignment as I have learned from from my latest x-rays results were great compared to the ones that I had last year. I have also introduced my dad for first time to chiropractors here and for a guy who's having doubts and reservations almost about everything - got him checked here and have learned a lot about his back, neck, range of motion And his general well-being just from the basic questions and x-ray examination (I have learned that he has some arthritis formations). I have to point out that dad had a stroke seven years ago and his recovery was very slow - half of his body was disabled for a long time and it took many different therapies like kinetic therapy, electric stimulation, massage, acupuncture to get him back on his feet and get moving. To have a good alignment is crucial for the body to communicate within. It may take a lifetime to understand some basic things about how the human body functions but sooner is better. That you can get examined, learn more about yourself and get adjusted free of charge in the beginning I think should be should be a no brainer for people that have some kind of problems. It's well worth a visit, I wish I knew more about sooner, years ago. My physical abilities got much better than in my twenties. Also, a few months ago we have learned for the first time about hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) thanks to the doctors from the Hyperbaric Centers of Chicago at The Neuroscience Center (Deerfield, IL) and we're going in for multiple sessions hoping rehabilitate furthermore. Some therapies that they do there are also incredible - I wish I have known about them years ago. Went there cause of the $20 X-ray and adjustment. They then offer you a full check and get your insurance info. Then they comeback with the fact that you need this service, this is ever you are now and where you are headed....yada yada yada! Then they break down the cost. They are very good at this, dont take my words, read the other reviews but here is their approach: "Your total plan is $6000. Since you have good insurance, they will cover $4000. And you will pay $2000 out of pocket. We have a special deal today where we will give you a discount or $800 and all you have to pay is $1200" This is a good tactic to get customers. THEY ARE REALLY GOOD ABOUT THIS. So, i did half of the sessions they wanted me to do for a few months. After I notice zero improvements, i told them i wanted to end it. Eventually i just stopped going. They ordered me a back support band and billed my insurance over $800. I had purchased a similar one through amazon before for $50.00. This was the time I realized they were a scam. I am sorry. But this is how it felt for me.
