I'm very disappointed with manor in which I've been treated by the women at Gundy's. Their snobbery is palpable when you walk into their store. If you're not wearing Brooks Brothers or Lilly you can rest assure that their eyes will follow you throughout the entire time you're in the store. They will be shocked if you purchase something and suspiciously question your purchases.
I am not a paranoid person. I do not feel as if everyone is out to get me but I'm tired of older women in affluent areas and their ways. If anyone should be grateful for all that they have it should be them.
Typically, I don't write a review of a place unless they're one of two things: exceptional or loathsome. All of the above from my initial experience with them would be left unreported if I hadn't had to deal with them after my first time in the store.
After writing them a bad check (on accident) they claimed to have notified me via the mail (I had moved)...Having to deal with a bad check I received that cause several subsequent check I wrote to be bad it has taken me a while to recover from this. Their harassing voice mails were enough to make you cry. Threatening legal action for under 200...After I had sent them a money order (which they requested) to pay the amount due to them.
Even after my sincerest apology the delay in payment due to unfortunate circumstances they speak to me as if I'm a criminal. Personally, I'd say the store is OK. The selection is limited and over priced, but, if you can afford it and are looking for a very specifically preppy type of a gift head there.
BUT if you value being treated respectfully without judging eyes go elsewhere.
