They had a Maryland crab themed shopping spread, and there was a cute little ceramic crab jewelry holder that I just HAD TO HAVE! And it was from this little store, Simply Noted, in Ruxton. First attempt in trying to get this crab did not go well. I made sure to check the store hours before I went and when I arrived it was closed! I was very upset since I did check beforehand, so I messaged the store via Facebook. I received a very sincere response from the manager explaining that their summer hours are shorter than listed online. She apologized and offered to ship it to me free of shipping charges. I decided to try going the next day because I really did want to check out the shop, and I am glad I did because it is adorable. Tons of cards, note pads, and gift items like books, dog toys and wine accessories. This place has it all and even designer items to like Kate Spade stationary. The woman working realized it was me from the Facebook messaging and apologized again and she was a pleasure to talk to and work with. And I am SO happy with my cute crab jewelry holder. I will definitely go back if I need to find another fun gift!

I have also brought my Anne Taintor calendars from this store. They sell calendars, journals, notepads, and much more. It's a super fun store that's totally worth your time. I am a moleskin girl myself; but I recently purchased a Leuchtturm here in a beautiful sage green color (please note they carry MANY shades and different types!! (lined, blank, dotted!!)). Words cannot describe how excited I am when I stop by this store to see if they have any new items in stock. They also sell beautiful planners, pens, markers, post it notes, etc. While it is a smaller shop, I think it is very well organized and laid out and I think the owner is really strategic about what they carry because I've always left feeling like nothing was lacking in my experience. Free street parking is available on nearby streets and this shop is right by several bus stations so it's easy to get to. There is a single step to enter the store if you have concerns regarding accessibility. I don't think they're active on Yelp, but they are active on Instagram where they post when the shop is having events like journaling club!! and stationary events. If I had no self control, I would have picked every single one of their pens, a Cinnamaroll claw clip, BTS pillow, and ALL the stickers. Luckily I looked at all the prices and stopped myself -- you can get a lot of the same things at Miniso for a better price these days. This is truly the place to get a hit of dopamine.

There was an event going on - food when I walked in was a dead giveaway. The store itself isn't very big but there were about 10 people looking at fountain pens. I couldn't even look since people were at the counter. For me, customer service is everything and no one working acknowledged me, not even to say hi. I know you may be busy but if you have a customer that just walked in, say hi. I looked around and found they had field notes so I looked at those for a bit and then my eyes wandered over to the hobinichis. I have never seen a hobinichi in person before so it was nice to get a sense of the size. I looked around at the pelikans and other fountain pens but there were alot of people so I left. Perhaps noticing the blank stare/look of overwhelm on my face, a kind employee asked if she could help me find anything. Anything? I had found everything! Luckily, I was doing carry-on only this trip, so only left with a handful of pens and a roll (okay, two rolls) of lovely floral-printed washi tape. If you're into planning, journaling, fancy pens, fountain pens, stickers, or just need a creative greeting card, Penny Post is the place. A quick note about parking: it's sort of a nightmare! I drove around for 20 minutes before I found a spot. But it was worth the hunt.
