All the food was great. It all came out quickly correctly. The service was also great. We called on a busy night and whoever picked up worked to fit us in to the night. After the renovations that were made, the feel of the place is very nice and intimate. Highly recommend for any sized-party Shout out to Melissa for being an awesome server. She was very nice and not robotic/standoffish. She checked on the table regularly and communicated effectively

A friend recommended Gulifty's as a place he and his wife would go when they lived near Philly a few years ago, so I trusted his recommendation. For the positives, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the space is comfy and the outdoor space is perfect for summer nights. But, the food was so-so at best. Maybe I'm spoiled by the fantastic food near me, but this wouldn't be my first choice to return to.

We haven't been to Gullifty's in awhile. I was in the mood for their chocolate mousse pie. We went on Saturday at 5:30pm. It wasn't crowded. Our server was Austin M. He was friendly and checked on us periodically. We decided to split the pulled pork and pickle pizza. The 14" was a good size for 2 to split. The pizza was delicious. Austin recommended some ranch dressing for dipping. It was delicious. When we asked for 2 slices of chocolate mousse pie, Austin delivered the bad news that they were out of it. He suggested the Irish cream chocolate chip cheesecake. We declined. I was surprised that they were out of the chocolate mousse pie especially since there was a card on the table showing it as a featured dessert with their homemade peppermint ice cream. We will have to try again another time. They do serve Coke products and have plenty of parking in the lot.

Haven't been to this restaurant in years, the ambiance was really nice and they had the Eagles playing on the TVs for the Eagles game which everyone loved! I got the French dip sandwich and it was amazing and my friend got the crab Cobb salad.

food was good! i would give it 6.8/10, the service was nice, the server checked on our table a few times to make sure that everything's okay. we come in for early dinner on sunday by mistake but it's good! the place was quite big and there's a bar. it's not too busy when we came in without reservations. the portions are BIG and the fries are reallllyyyy goooooooddd but the fish does have a little smell to it but it's still enjoyable.

Huge hit with these Fried Mozzarella pieces.

I came here recently with friends and family before a concert. Conversation and hanging was an astounding 1000 stars. Food was a 3 that didn't make me feel so good the following hours. We got there during Happy Hour so all appetizers and certain drinks were discounted 20%. My regular margarita had a bad blend of liquor and mix and was not good. The watermelon margarita was only slightly better according to my kid. The off-menu Grey Goose and cranberry was "quite nice" from what my wife said requiring a second one. My friends had Pizza Boy beers which they enjoyed thoroughly. We all went with a bunch of appetizers due to the Happy Hour discount. We had some winners and others not so much. The mozzarella sticks were nicely fried 1" cubes of cheese that went well with the marinara. The Brussels sprouts also were well prepared with a nice crisp and the bacon and other stuff inside made this a fun thing to eat. Fried pickles were meh and forgettable. Where things were not so good were with all the tacos. Gullifty's has no clue about filling up the store flour shells. They were quite chintzy with the insides. The unusual sounding alligator tacos (real alligator tail) were little fried pieces of nothing that I guess was alligator. A gimmick that my friends and I both fell for and they just sucked. The BBQ carnitas tacos my kid had also had hardly any filling or real taste. My French onion soup actually was a hit if not a little torched on the cheese. Lastly, my wife went with a regular menu item of fish and chips. Too many French fries and not enough fish. She said it was "fine," which is not much of a compliment. The BBQ chicken wings my friend got were decent, and the salad was just ok. The large restaurant was quite empty and literally cold on a Monday evening so when we got to sit outside at the end of October feeing almost Summer-like was much better. Service was very friendly and mostly attentive. I'm told this place is a huge Villanova favorite. They could make some improvements in the food department. $95 not including tip for three drinks, two appetizers, a soup, and three mains (based on how the menu works). Some of these were given Happy Hour discounts.

It's a little back off the street but this is the entrance.

The kitchen doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, and that's exactly why people love it. The Burgers: Often cited as some of the best in the area, these are classic, juicy bar burgers. They recently introduced a "smash burger" style that has been winning over even the most stubborn regulars. The Cheesesteaks: You won't find any touristy gimmicks here. We decided to stop at The Grog Grill which I had only been to once before in the 23 years I've lived in the area. I recalled that at that time, the Grog burger had been named best of the Main Line so I tried it and thought it was definitely not the best burger. The service was excellent, the pub environment was pub-like, we were seated at a high top at the back of the restaurant and next to a door to to the outside which made it very cold! I wore my heavy coat the entire meal. Cobb salad - 3/5, I think it's hard to mess up a cobb salad, but this was just okay. Tons of bacon bits and not a lot of salad greens, almost like a deconstructed salad which is weird for pub food. Mushroom flat bread - 3/5, just okay What redeemed our lunch was that when we asked for the check, our lovely server told us that the older gentleman at the bar had taken care of it along with the checks for several other patrons that day. That's never happened to me before! I will need to pay it forward...just maybe not at The Grog Grill.

I've never been disappointed with my food here, and you like pub fare you're sure to find something on the menu that will hit the spot. The brisket grilled cheese was phenomenal (though more meat than cheese) and their roast pork rivals anything you'll find in the city. They have a wide variety of options on tap too. Worth checking out.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with fries...my friend ordered muscles and the ham sandwich special. The muscles arrived cold. Not warm, not tepid...just cold. They were sent back for a trip in the microwave which is a place that shellfish should never journey too...if you want them to remain tender. When I ordered, I asked about a few items and was assured that "people love the roast beef". Now I've had "French Dip" style roast beef before at other restaurants, and when done right...it's a memorable experience. Crusty toasted torpedo style roll brimming with thinly sliced hot beef...provolone cheese melted over the top and down the sides...served with a side of au jus dipping sauce, that you would want to slurp down a soup bowl full. But this...was not that! The sandwich arrived on a hamburger style bun...the meat was piled "adequately" in the center but sloped off considerably as it headed for the edge of the bun. There was no need to worry about meat falling out as I took a bite...as none of it protruded past the buns edge. The cheese was there...a single uninspired round slice covered the cold and somewhat soggy bottom of the bun... and wasn't melted...at all! I suspect that the kitchen assumed that the meat would melt the cheese...but the meat would have to be hot for that to happen. In this sandwich...the closer you got to the middle of the "meat mound"...the colder it got. And little did I know when asked if I wanted provolone on the sandwich...that it would be an additional charge. Now for my fries. They weren't hot...they weren't even warm...they were "ice cold"! I sent them back light heartedly joking that there must be a door open in the kitchen (it was a cold evening) and the server returned shortly with hot fresh ones...minus the pickles that were on my plate. This goes to show that fries can reach the table...hot. The hot ham and cheese sandwich "special", served on a pretzel bun, wasn't hot...and wasn't special. I saw no melted cheese...only thin dry slices of ham, stiff as roofing shingles, protruded from the roll. There was no mustard...no sauce...no "something special" to make the "special", special... just stiff little sad ham planks...wondering where they went wrong On both recent visits...the service has been "spotty". (I know that cell service in the pub isn't spotty, because on my first visit...both servers had their heads buried in their phones). It doesn't seem like there's a real system in place for insuring that the customers receive "attentive" service. To their credit...they did remove the muscles from the check without us asking...but I never got a feeling that the next party to walk through the door...would have a better experience. When you find a good local pub with great food...it's like going to eat at grandmas house. You know that you'll always leave feeling warm, wanted, and fed really well. And you'll be excited by the thought of a return visit. I'm still looking.
