Stayed here for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend at site #10…read more The site has a fire pit, picnic table, and bear box. The sites all seemed to be on the smaller, cramped side and a bit dusty, but overall clean. Deer liked hanging around the campsites as did the wasps. The single occupancy flush toilets were clean and in good condition despite a busy weekend. They had a cleaning chart on the door so people came in frequently to clean it. Good campground near Gull Lake and June Lake if you don't mind a smaller site!

The good: nice big tables, good fire ring, easy access to water and clean restrooms. Area is pretty, and it's close to the lake. The host is very friendly and informative, and sells fire wood. The bear boxes are big and work well. Sites have pull through parking, so it's very easy to park. Most of the sites have decent shade in the daytime. Short walk to gull lake. The bad: sites are not private at all. Sitting in my site, I can see directly into no fewer than 9 other sites. It's also right off the June Lake Loop, which means cars are very audible at all hours. I was also awakened this morning by a helicopter flying very low at 7 am. It has continued running laps all day. The host informed me that they're replacing power poles with more sturdy ones. This is a good thing, but not for campers in 2020! Be warned. Overall, with the exception of the helicopters, this campground is fine. I'm giving it 4 stars because I really can't hold the helicopter noise against the campground.

Not too many out on the lake (late September). Perfect weather and enjoyed seeing the leaves turn. Saw lots of fish. Dreaming of next Gull Lake boat ride. Gull lake always seems a little more low key, so peaceful.

Disappointed Experience: I reached out via email first because I hate posting negative reviews…read more Unfortunately after almost a week there has been no reply so here was my email hoping the owner or manager would care enough to respond. I hope this email reaches the owner or manager responsible for customer service. We have rented boats on Gull Lake for years and have always had a good experience until this past week. Our first experience was August 18th getting our fishing license with almost zero communication from the two young men in charge. We then rented a pontoon boat on August 22nd and after getting on the boat realized two of us had grease all over our pants due to grease being all over the front seat. When bringing in the boat for a lunch break we asked the young man to clean off the seat for us and he said "sure". Upon our return the seat was still full of grease. There seemed to be zero appreciation or customer service which was so disappointing. I hate negative yelps...pants have been ruined and we are sad to think our rental boat days at Gull will not be in our future.

Best Campsite on OH Ridge Campground - Site #6!…read more We toured the whole campground, and hands down Campsite #6 is the winner. This site is for tents and not trailers/RV, so yay for us ground campers/RTTs! It's got the perfect front-row view, tucked away just enough to feel private and peaceful, with none of the noise or crowding you get at other spots. If you're lucky enough to snag #6, you won't regret it! *I forgot to mention the restroom, it is quite a long way down to the restroom but we brought our own potty so didn't pay much attention to it. If #6 is already taken, the next best options are sites #7, #8, and #9. They're still good choices, but be aware that the separation is only a couple of bushes--so you'll definitely be sharing a bit of "neighbor visibility." Still nice, but nothing beats the serenity and seclusion of #6. Highly recommend this place, and especially that site!

The people running the kayak rentals were understanding and fun. The lake itself is beautiful and spring fed, the water is clean and fun. It can get cold from wind, so if you're swimming be careful of hypothermia when you get out. The bathrooms were ok. Make sure to go into town and support local businesses or kayak across to the other resorts on the lake!

It's hard to miss in the Eastern Sierra when it comes to camping, especially north of Lake Crowley…read more The June Loop has several places to camp, hike, or just relax, all with beautiful views, trees, and access to some legendary trout waters. Gull is one of the smaller lakes in the area, with plenty of fishing opportunities like her larger cousins June, Crowley, and Convict, to name a few of the hundreds. Camping is first-come, first served... and despite the signs telling you to "wait for the host," I suggest going and knocking on their camper door so someone doesn't steal it out from under you. Some of the lake is circled by cattail reeds, so shire access is perhaps more limited at times. However, Gill doesn't feature the summer annoyances of waterskiing and weekend jet-boaters like larger June does. Winter freeze hits this area hard, and the trout season ends at the latest in November up here. April is still mighty cold when it reopens... but plenty of great opportunities up here Spring through Fall.

But then they would probably never be available because all the old farts with RVs would hog them up!! :-\ Anyway, bathrooms are flush style, clean and serviced regularly.
