Best Campsite on OH Ridge Campground - Site #6! We toured the whole campground, and hands down Campsite #6 is the winner. This site is for tents and not trailers/RV, so yay for us ground campers/RTTs! It's got the perfect front-row view, tucked away just enough to feel private and peaceful, with none of the noise or crowding you get at other spots. If you're lucky enough to snag #6, you won't regret it! *I forgot to mention the restroom, it is quite a long way down to the restroom but we brought our own potty so didn't pay much attention to it. If #6 is already taken, the next best options are sites #7, #8, and #9. They're still good choices, but be aware that the separation is only a couple of bushes--so you'll definitely be sharing a bit of "neighbor visibility." Still nice, but nothing beats the serenity and seclusion of #6. Highly recommend this place, and especially that site! read more

Really beautiful place, getting a campsite with a clear lake view is really clutch as well. The staff seemed like they were longstanding employees who loved the place. The people running the kayak rentals were understanding and fun. The lake itself is beautiful and spring fed, the water is clean and fun. It can get cold from wind, so if you're swimming be careful of hypothermia when you get out. The bathrooms were ok. Make sure to go into town and support local businesses or kayak across to the other resorts on the lake! read more

A large campground with views and access to June Lake. We were in site 43 that had a great view and was spacious. Running water and flush toilets, but no showers. There is a short walking path to the lake from the campground that you can access for free. Parking is not included for June Lake, which was $10 per car and sells out quickly! Oh Wow,we wanted 15 minutes to check out the campground for a future reservation. The attendants in the booth at the entrance were so rude when they wanted a day use fee. Currently we were staying in a cabin. We went to scout out sites for next season. They refused, we definitely won't be staying at Oh Ridge and put up with rude attendants, hosts, or whatever they are. read more

I love love love Oh Ridge campground. I have been coming here for years, you really can't get a "bad" campsite staying here as they are all pretty good and in a great location. The camp hosts have always been super nice and helpful, one even came to say hi to my dogs and gave them some treats! Lots of shaded and nice sized trailer/RV sites are available. A pay to use dump station is available ($10 as of May 2023) which is easy to use. June lake is just steps away from the campgrounds and the water is great to look at or dip your toes in. Lots of hiking trails can be accessed nearby. I can't wait to go back! read more

Clean bathrooms, nice campsites, beautiful views! We went there in July and the weather was great: a little bit warm, (82 during the day) but we are from Fresno, so it was delightful. At night it got down to 45, so it was nice. It is also just short drive or walk (depending on where your site is) to June lake, which is stunning. We were even able to go swimming and the water temp was nice. There are options to rent kayaks and paddle boards down there as well. The place is well-maintained and you can't beat the surroundings. So many great hikes and places to see around there. I'm looking forward to going back soon. read more

Lovely family campground right outside of the ever so gorgeous June Lake!!! My group of 4 stayed here for 2 days on our hiking trip in mammoth. Location:5 This campground is so close to so many things! Hot springs, mammoth, mt whitney, Yosemite., lake tahoe, you name it! Great for yosemite trips where you enter the park from Lee Vining. Campsite: 4 The site have fire pits and benches and all seem to be clean and well maintained. However they are a little bit small. You will likely be right next to your fellow campers if you have multiple tents. This is also a very large site with over 100 spots which is great for availability. But not so great for pricacy. Views: 5 June lake is striking. Watching the sunset there was one of the highlights of our trip. There were also local deer that hang around all the communal areas which is adorable. Facilities: 4 They had all the basics, e.g bathrooms, but for a site this large it would be nice if they also had some showers. Especially if coming with large groups. Although I guess the lake can be used as shower! ( dont put soap in the lake, I'm just kidding). Overall I would absolutely come back. The location is simply unbeatable. read more

I've stayed at Oh! Ridge at least 12 times in my life and every stay has been better than the last! I remember going up as a kid and riding my bike around the loops and playing in the open area. The restrooms are always cleaned and maintained. The rangers there are always so friendly and willing to give directions to wherever you want to go. The view of the lake is amazing! And the price per night is unbeatable. I just took my 4 year old and wife for the first time last week and we will never forget. I will always recommend this campground and will always go back. This is a great place to stay and I would live at this campground is they would let me! read more

We love camping outdoors and exploring the area around us. We took a roadtrip to Oh Ridge Campground, located in June Lake. Very beautiful campspot. The hosts were great, the site was well kept and it was absolutely perfect in the month of August. Note: there are bears! Make sure you put all your stuff in the bear lockers that are provided. We felt their presence early early morning at our site. They had clean bathrooms, well kept showers. A beautiful Lake with amazing scenery... They also had a bonfire pit in our site. We were right by the camp hosts and they were absolutely lovely! I was very happy with this campsite. We wanted to stay in Yosemite but you have to reserve months in advance. We didn't do this so we were recommended by a friend to stay here. It was a day trip to go to Yosemite. We spent an I tire day roaming around there. It was great. The other days we stayed at June Lake. The view at June lake is gorgeous. Everyone at the campsite was super nice and relaxed. The staff was always ready to help and the grounds were kept clean. I would recommend staying up by gull (where we stayed) of close to the lake there. There is not a lot of shade back by dear. We wanted some shade and we're happy in gull. The sites are close together but that's pretty common for camping. We had some loud neighbors. Again and unfortunately pretty common camping. All in all we had a great time and would definitely recommend this campsite. read more

This location is a prime location so BOOK with ample time. You can take a short drive to the lake or walk down to the lake. The lake is beautiful and the water is chilly. This location is ideal and very popular. You can bring a canopy and setup down by the beachside of the lake. There is deer roaming all over the campground. They also offer a dump station for a fee of $10.00. It doesn't matter that you are have a reservation at the campground fee still applies. The sites all over a beatbox, fire pit, and fresh water to fill RV, trailer or any camping unit that needs water. I only give four starts because having at least water hook up and swear line hookups would have been greatly appreciated. Oh and I can't forget to mention that reservations online are a nightmare. The online system was terrible and false advertising if you ask me so be aware. I think your better off calling in. So much to see in the area. Such a cute little town. June Lake I hope your around for a very long time for generations to come to visit. We love it here. read more

I've seen better campgrounds (i.e., campgrounds with better shade, bigger sites, showers in the bathroom) but I had to give this place a 5 star because of my overall experience here! CAMPSITE Location: Rolled into this campground with 13 adults and 1 child, JUNE 2015. We reserved 3 consecutive camp sites (58, 59, 60). Site 58 was a bit further from 59 and 60 but the sites in Oh Ridge are very close together so when I say "a bit further" I really mean "30-second walk". The campsite set up worked well for us as we used site 59 as our designated food prep area and site 60 as our designated campfire and "hang out" area. The closeness of the sites works great for big groups but If you want more privacy, I recommend choosing a site that doesn't have a site right next to it (at least on one side). 58 was my favorite out of the three. Although each of the sites have slices of the lake in view, site 58 had the least obstruction and the most privacy. We pitched our tent behind a big rock which gave us extra privacy. CAMPSITE AMENITIES: Site 59 had an awkwardly placed fire pit as it was a bit close to the bushes. Site 60 had the best fire pit placement out of the three sites. 59 and 60 has a wooden panel which helps shade some parts of the site. CAMPGROUND LOCATION: This campground is a 3-minute drive to JUNE LAKE. You can also choose to walk to it but I suggest taking your car with a cooler, umbrella, and other beach supplies packed in the trunk. This campground is lacking shade. There are trees but it is not as much as my previous camping experience. CAMPGROUND WILD LIFE: We saw deer and chipmunks who don't seem to phased by our presence as they don't mind being as close as 2 ft from us. There were a few of the usual bugs (tics, ants, termites, and spiders) but this has been the least amount of SPIDERS I've experienced while camping and I think that is because there aren't a lot of trees / there wasn't a tree above my tent. I also did not see any insects in the bathrooms, except for a moth that seemed to be drinking some sink water. (As an arachnophobe, the minimal amount of spiders was enough to give this place a 5 star) CAMPGROUND BATHROOM: There are 2 sinks and 2 stalls in the women's bathroom located in Rabbit loop. They provide thin quality TP but no seat covers (so we brought our own). They also do not have soap so bring your own. NO SHOWERS but there are $1 = 7minute showers next door. Before pulling into Oh Ridge, there is another campground / store and that is where you will find your showers. I didn't mind not having showers specifically on site. CAMPGROUND AMBIANCE: The view is beautiful. You will see mountains surrounding you which makes for beautiful sunsets. The place got a bit windy during the day which helped as it was pretty hot during the day. We spent half day by June Lake beach which was very relaxing. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards right on the beach. Waking up to the fresh air, bright sun, view of the lake, and bird chirps was extremely relaxing! Gazing up at the stars was also extremely relaxing! OVERALL EXPERIENCE: It worked out well for my group but the sites were still a bit cramped. The views are beautiful and it is close to amenities (i.e., nearby store to purchase ice, firewood, and Häagen-Dazs ice cream). Most of the campers were RV camps but each site has a few nice spots to pitch a tent. This place was definitely a different experience but it served it's purpose and we all had a good time! read more

This campground is definitely one of our favorites. The restrooms were clean and were actually the best smelling camp restrooms we have ever smelt (flushing toilets)! Our site was close to June Lake which had crystal clear water which our kid absolutely enjoyed. There is a small store nearby with all the supplies you would need from ice, snacks, to fishing tackle. Coin operated showers are also located adjacent to the store but we never used them. We will definitely be returning to this campground in the future. read more

This campground was perfect. Clean bathrooms and showers, running water right next to campsite, a General Store at the grounds....and June Lake rt there . Beautiful scenery around the lake, and you have options to drive like 1mi to the village and surrounding Silver and Gull Lake. Our family of 4 (2kids) met with more fam/friends and we had lots 148-151..best time ever!! Pls see my pics that i uploaded :) Pros: - scenery is amazing - campgrounds are clean and spacious...car is rt next to u - general store rt there for last minute needs - close to villages/stores/cafes and GAS! Cons: - cell service spotty. We have at&t, and it was perfect. LTE service the whole time there. Our buds had verizon/sprint and NADA - thats is pretty much it! **hot tip - for the truly needy, there is an electical outlet in the bathrooms that u can use for quick chargeups or inflating...i saw someone actually brew coffee there as well - if ur need ur good cafe latte fix, there is a coffee shop 1mi away at the village called: Trout Town Joe - nice family hike at Gull lake, approx 1mi loop with insane views (5yr and 7yr old loved it) Overall A++ and will definitely come back read more

This is a large campground, right off the highway but still very isolated and quiet. There are many loops and if you book early you can get one facing the lake. Downtown June lake is just a 5 minute drive, and Yosemite east entrance just 30 minutes. Camp sites are a little closely spaced, and seem to be more geared towards RV than tent camping. Our neighbors were really close but thankfully not noisy. Flush toilets are clean and great but a bit of a walk from our site (34). There is also cell reception which may or may not be what you are looking for :) read more

I absolutely love this campground. Stayed here twice this year and I plan on coming back next year. I feel like this campground is great if you're like me and just want to get away from the city life. The view is absolutely amazing! I've had campsites in the Bear (#8) loop and Squirrel (#44), facing the lake. When we were there in August, we had Deers visiting us and we went paddle boarding at June lake. When we went the opening weekend in April, we got hit with really bad winds at night and woke up to snow. It was absolutely beautiful...and cold! :) by the end of the day, the snow melted away. I feel like we experience four seasons in one weekend. It can get pretty windy up there, at night specially. So dress warm and stake your tents well into the ground! The bathrooms are flush, and clean! The general store close by is super convenient, but they only take cash. Oh and the paddle boarding company that comes out by the lake, they also only accept cash. The folks that work on site are super friendly, love that! I also love that it's so close to Mammoth! We had our 6 month old puppy with us and she had a blast! She even went swimming in June Lake. Overall, I've had great experience here and I hope you do too! read more

Great very large campground with clean restrooms, sites that are not on top of each other. There is a full hookup campground very close with a store and coin operated showers. Small propane cylinder was $6 compared to over $9 in Mammoth so the store has fair prices. Easy walk to the beach at June Lake. A dirt road also leads to a dog friendly beach to the north of the dog restricted beach. Staff is very good and friendly. They even go around collecting garbage from campsites in their electric carts. Many tables at the sites are old and badly swaybacked. We did have a site for a night with a new heavy duty table. There is no lane for returning campers at the entrance so you may have to wait a lengthy time while a new arrival registers. This is a major fault. In summer with school out, you will need reservations. This is a very popular destination. read more

I thought this campground was pretty decent. Although we had some kind of annoying, unruly kids a few spots down, that's not the campground's fault. The bathrooms were cleaned twice while we were there and the facilities were all functional and clean. Deer were friendly and happily grazed among the campsites and the place was covered in birds and chipmunks -- the chipmunks are cute, and their antics are quite entertaining, but I find their presence slightly worrisome due to the bugs they carry. We just made sure to keep them away from our pet's bedding and to zip up the tents whenever we were away so we didn't find any surprise visitors when we crawled into our sleeping bags ;). I do really wish Oh Ridge would sell ice and maybe install some pay shower facilities so that their campers could stop having to go over to the neighboring RV park to use theirs. Our family has been here two years in a row (planning on going back again next summer) and both times the staff at the nearby Pine Cliff RV Park and General Store (where the ice and the pay showers are located) have been so rude that we've taken our business elsewhere, permanently. read more

Loved, loved, loved this campground! Wow, what a beautiful location!!!!! We had site 20 and had a pretty good view of the lake. Sites were pretty close together but we were hardly there during the day. Sites 6-10 had an excellent view. The staff was wonderful! They were always patrolling, checking on everyone. A camper a few sites down had left they're dogs, who were barking non-stop, and sited them for it. We played at the beach, even let our dog off leash for a while. Nobody minded. We rented a pontoon and caught a cutthroat trout (yum!)! Went to Mammoth for a day to play, drove around to Silver Lake to fish some more. Saw Mono Lake My original intent of choosing this campsite was it's proximity to Yosemite. FYI, in June, the roads are closed and you cannot get through. We did drive up the 120 to see and it was indeed very thick with snow. Frozen lakes and all. Gorgeous drive if you can make it. The weather was great too! Our group stayed in a tent campsite for one night in August 2016. We stayed in the bear loop site 8. We had a great view of the lake and mountains right from our site but we were quite far from the bathrooms (10 min walk). We actually noticed other campers in our loop driving to the bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper, no soap (like most campground bathrooms we visited). We drove down to the beach which was the best part of this campground. Beautiful, clear water and you could walk out quite far because it wasn't very deep. Some of the beach is pretty rocky so sandals or beach shoes might be helpful. There were lots of deer! Which was fun to see. Our only issue is that the people staying in the sites on either side of us were a little.... rough. Lots of drinking and some obvious drug use, some loud fighting and noise in the evening, but overall friendly with us and they were relatively quiet overnight. read more

I loved my week here. The campground is clean and right on the swimming beach for June Lake. Deer roamed through our loop. Everyone in my group had a great time. Be forewarned though, the RV dump is only open sporadically mid week, when the kiosk is manned. This made dumping my RV tanks impossible on my way out of town. They also charge $10 to dump even if you are a registered paying campsite user. I loved the campground, but I took off one star for the inconvenience of having to drive to the Tioga Pass Chevron to dump my tanks. read more

First off the campground has opening right now due to 120 being closed. If you're from San Francisco that going to change your 3.5 hour trip to over 5.5 hour to get here. You want to go to Yosemite that will be an additional 5 hours.lol not happening unless you be have times on your hands. 120 had 9 ft of snow in June so closed for a while. Saying that I figured since it was open to book in June there had to be a catch. I wanted to do to Yosemite but I wanted to camp far from San Francisco so I was okay not going. Had a great time here. We were on site 52. Small but made friend with the neighbors so we shared both sites together. We brought our van and maybe could have got one tent next to us but don't see more than 4 bring able to fit. It worked for us since it was only two of us. I think I will book sure 1-20 next time since it's closer to the beach front of the lake. Showers are near little store. Co-op $1 for 7 minutes to wash. Showers open 8am to 8pm. They clean anytime from 9am to 11am. I would recommend getting it in the early evening or first thing opening. Store is cash only. Only beer so no hard liquor. If you smoke you need to make sure you bring extra. I don't smoke but neighbors ran out and asked. Lake had parking a bathroom. You could hang out there before checking​ in or after checking out since it right before office. Free parking/ entry to beach. Bonus!! Disable ramp for wheel chair access. All the way into the shore. Made me tear up seeing. Water very clean but lots of rocks. Bring shoes to wear if possible but can go without. Overall I loved this place. Will be booking soon . The view was breathtaking. No frills but enough to enjoy yourself. Because of 120 being close also not crowded. Awesome score. . read more

Not our ideal campsite. Way too much wildlife for us. Our neighboring spot was attacked by a bear while they were cooking dinner. The bear snuck up on 3 people and a dog. It destroyed their food and wasn't leaving them alone. We also saw a few coyotes and deer while walking around the campgrounds. Our dog and a coyote had a stare down, I was terrified. Also, the pictures are deceiving; the camp lots are right on top of each other. Zero privacy. Good luck if you have loud neighbors. You can hear many conversations through out the night, till 2am. There was no quiet time or cut off time for activities. The location is great, but it's not worth how miserable our stay has been. read more

My family stayed at this scenic campground on Thursday, Ocober 27, 2011. This is a huge campground with more than 100 sites-- but in October only one loop is open to both tent and RV campers. We paid $25 for site # 145 in Gull loop. Don't get me wrong, this is a great campground in lovely environs. To get there I would suggest you take June Lakes Scenic Loop the long way around (from the North.) This scenery is even more stunning in Autumn when the trees are changing colors. Each camp site has a covered picnic table, a bear box, and both a bbq grill and a bbq pit. The bathrooms have flush toilets and sinks with running water. During our stay there was plenty of toilet paper and the bathrooms were well maintained. The campground is located within driving distance of small grocery/ fishing supply stores. So why only three stars? We have two dogs whom we camp with. We picked this campground because it is on the shore of June Lake and dogs are welcome in the campground. But when we took Gatsby and Margot down to the beach we were sorely disappointed-- there were no dogs allowed on the beach-- EVER. Poor Gatsby's heart broke when he learned of this and his lower lip quivered with extreme disappointment. If you are camping with your canine, it might be better to camp at a more budget-priced campground with more activities you can both enjoy. If you do camp here, bring sunscreen and a brimmed hat as the sun shines strongly and brightly. (Even in late October.) xox read more

There's a beautiful view, but you probably already knew that. My favorite part about Oh! Ridge is seeing the various ways Caltrans makes exclamation points for the signs. See, there are only certain white, reflector-enhanced letters and symbols in Caltrans's repertoire. When a place like La Cañada Flintridge or Oh! Ridge needs a sign, the guys in the Caltrans lettering shop need to earn their pay. So they shave down a capital R to create an eñe or chop up a large 1 to make an exclamation point. But because this is done on a case-by-case basis and because signs sometimes must be replaced ahead of schedule, the new letter guy must often do quick work. He may have no idea how the last guy made an exclamation point, so the one on the sign on Highway 395 may be much larger than the one two miles from the site. The one at Oh! Ridge itself might be smaller than the first but larger than the second. Awesome. read more

If your idea of camping is barking dogs, loud music, cramped spots with little or no shade, telephone poles and lines, dune buggies, and generators running from 6 AM until 10 PM then this is the place for you! Me? No to the out of control campers, the generators and the urban atmosphere of what could be a serene and gorgeous place. We just returned from a 4 day stay at Oh Ridge. We come up here every other year, at least. The campground is great, very close to the lake, and kept clean. The restrooms are very clean, but there is no soap and no showers. There are coin operated showers at another campground close by. (we stayed at that one several years ago, but the sites are much too close together and we won't stay there again) The staff at Oh Ridge is awesome, they are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the dump station was "out of order." We were NOT happy about that. It seems like this is becoming the norm for all campgrounds on government land. Why??????? (It's not free, they charge for this service) I have one more irritation, some of their water spigots around the campground dripped constantly. We are in a severe drought, I would think they would replace the valves so they don't drip and waste precious water. read more

We loved this campground!!! We loved it so much we've decided to make it an annual trip. This campground is perfectly located for us to do all the things we like/wanted to do in the eastern sierras. We were close enough to Mammoth for my boyfriend to ride the mountain bike park and close enough to Yosemite for me to bask in the beauty. The campground is well maintained and each loop has a bathroom. The staff kept the bathrooms clean and stocked with toilet paper (the package of toilet paper I brought with was never opened). There are showers up by the general store, available for four quarters ( four quarters will get you about 7 minutes) the water temperatures definitely fluctuate but, it's better to be clean than not. Some of the loops are centrally located next to June lake...I assume those are the ones you have to book a good year in advance. We stayed in deer loop which was close enough to ride our bikes or walk down to the lake. Can't wait to go back next year!!!!! read more
