Jim is the best guide in town!!! Me, my dad, and my brother are at the opener every year, and my dad thought it would be different and fun to have a guide to cure us of the season before when we all got skunked! Jim was so helpful and took us to amazing locations that were off the beaten path from other fisher[wo]men. I was so excited when I caught a fish almost instantly....of course Jim made fun of me because it looked more like bait, but nevertheless, I caught a fish almost instantly! I've fished with Jim several times now and I always appreciate his constant constructive criticism. He thought me better technique with casting, and I haven't caught a bush or human or piece of clothing since!! He's also taken us on his boat at Crowley, and that has become one of our favorite spots to fish!! We catch beasts there!! Look no further if you're looking to catch a ton of fish and have an amazing time!!

I booked a beginners tour, I wanted to learn something new this year. I was overwhelmingly grateful for the experience. Jim was very professional, while still being a fun guy to chop it up with, and most importantly, an EXCELLENT teacher. In a walk, crawl, run strategy, broke fly fishing down to a basic science for me, then showed me a few casting techniques, and once we got to the water showed me how to put it all together. AND he was honest. He wasn't afraid to tell me which techniques I definitely need to work on, and which ones I seem to be picking up, which made for a better experience because ultimately, I believe, we caught more fish that way. I could not recommend FishMammoth enough, and for sure will return myself.

Both Sandra and I have been fishing Lake Crowley with Jim Eilas for the past 3 years. We've consistantly caught an incredible number of very large fat Brown, Cutthrout, Rainbow and Cutbow (hybrid) Trout most years. It's very clear Jim knows the right flies and locations to catch fish in Crowley. Oftentimes, we've found ourselves with rods bent, sometimes with double hookups, while nearby boats were not producing. In the longer term perspective, we've fished with other guides on Lake Crowley, but Jim has consistantly out performed them all. We're looking forward to future guided trips with Jim to explore some of the exciting river and stream fishing available in the Mammoth Lakes area.

Jim was an excellent guide We had a great experience on Crowley Lake Caught many rainbows and brown trouts Would highly recommend Jim and fish Mammoth to anyone vi Mammoth Lakes A great experience !

My cousin even had a close call when he accidentally slid off the trail, ran down 100 feet, and narrowly missed hitting trees. (Slipper snow) Despite the challenges, the reward at the top was well worth it. It was a beautiful, secluded lake. Some of us tried a little fishing, while the girls jumped into the freezing cold water for a swim. The water was so "pristine" that my hair felt conditioned afterward. It was magnificent, the water felt untouched and almost holy! This past summer, we hiked it again for the 4th of July, and it was so much easier because I had lost 20 pounds, haha! I'd say the hike is about 13 minutes up, around 2 miles round trip, and great for all ages. Just make sure you're in decent shape and don't have any serious health concerns. When I was 20 pounds heavier, the hike felt like a 10/10 in difficulty. Now, it's more like a 3/10, a total breeze!
