We kayaked out in June Lake. Our original thought was we were going to paddle board, however all the paddle boards were rented out. That's okay, because we weren't ready to fall into the lake water just yet. My husband and I shared a 2 seat kayak. We pushed ourselves to paddle out about a mile and back, it was so much fun. Notes: They only accept cash and you'll find the owner out on the beach, they wear a shirt with the company name on it. Have a lot of fun and enjoy those massive mountain views while in the lake. read more

The owner?/guy at the truck lol is very nice and helpful. We had a lot of fun paddle boarding in June lake ( the place should be called June lake kayaks). The lake is crystal clear so, a wonderful location. We were staying at Oh Ridge campground so, it was nice to find an activity to do so close. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is for the price...$25 an hour seemed reasonable until we rented rafts in Yosemite. The raft rental place in Yosemite was $31 a person and we were allowed to keep the rafts until 6pm. I had never paddle boarded before and by time I got my barring it was time to turn it in, or pay another $50 for the two of us. All and all the paddle boarding was a fun experience. read more

This was a great experience for our family. First time in Mammoth and right after Labor Day rush. Setting up a reservation was easy and working with them was exceptional. We did the paddle boarding and would absolutely recommend to anyone. You don't have to stand up if you do not want to. The owner is such a humble and down to earth dude! You can tell that this is his passion. My cousins and I went camping in the area. We went to the lake on a saturday and found out that we could rent paddle boards and kayaks. My cousin's bf rented 2 kayaks for us to use. The owner let us use them however way we wanted so my cousins and I were able to tap each other out and take turns using the kayaks. We initially wanted to rent 3 at a time but a third one wasn't available. Because if this, he gave us extra time! The Kayaks were sturdy (it didn't have the padded seats but still works well). My 5 year old nephew enjoyed it as well! read more

Visited there around 1pm. First we couldn't find their location (no sign), we called them many times. Finally they called back and told us where they were. Then we walked to their location and they said all kayaks were booked and no available ones. We first sent an email about our request and arrive time before our trip, and they replied 'see you there'. So they didn't mention about they are open from 10am to 3pm, and they have a waiting list, no reservation system. And I can't believe they open when there are more than 10people at 10am. I really want them to update their information on its website. If you want to play kayak, go there before 10am. read more

We came early on a Sunday morning and rented a kayak. I was impressed with how helpful the guy was. He was very helpful and convinced us we should do a two-person kayak which saved us the cost of the second rental. He made sure we felt comfortable before he pushed us off. My boyfriend and I rented stand up paddle boards one morning a couple weeks ago and had a great time! Not only was he very nice, but he told us about a little piece of the lakeshore that you can't get to on foot, so it's very private and a great place to paddle up to and hang for a bit! He gave us a deal that if you rent for two hours, he throws in a third hour for free! It got a little windy, so we decided to head in and return the boards early, and he only charged us for one hour! He was super nice and easy to rent from. A couple notes- he only accepts cash! So have some on you, or there is an ATM in the general store and I highly recommend getting to the beach early as he was pretty much sold out by 10am and you'd have to wait until the afternoon to rent. happy paddling! read more

Went to go kayak in June Lake today and realized when I got there that I was not able to use my paddle . The gentlemen who run this out fut were so helpful! Rob, The owner was so nice and calming and let me use one of their paddles! They were nice and helpful to all the people I saw them dealing with! Highly reccomend using them while you are wanting to enjoy water sports on the Lake! read more

Unfortunately we showed up at 2:53. We were told the last launch was at 3:00. So, they would not be able to set us up with three rentals. Instead we were asked to return the next day at 9:00. The website and yelp are misleading make sure that you show up early. Two hours before said closing time is not enough. Or don't show up, because apparently they don't want the business very much. read more

Due to some travel logistics, I had to leave my SUP at home. Mammoth Kayaks had a convenient beach location at June Lake; a short drive from Mammoth Lakes. Rob (owner) and his crew provided great service and the rental stand up paddle boards were in great condition. So much fun with the paddle boards. 1 hr was plenty of time before you get wore out. The guy is pretty cool. Runs the business out if his big moving style truck where he has plenty of equipment for everyone and in great shape. Not junk! We went over our hour but he was really cool about it. Driving there can get you confused so here's a tip. If your driving on the hwy in to June lake and the lake is on your right, you went too far. Turn around and go to North Shore and find the Oh Ridge or Oh Beach campground. It's the first on off the road. Have fun! read more

We rented Kayaks and SUP's from both Rob and Ron on different days during a recent stay at June Lake. Both guys were extremely friendly and helpful with instructions. We rented for an hour the first time to try them out and my kids were hooked! So, we extended an hour, which turned out to be much longer, thanks the generous guys at Mammoth Kayaks.
