Jen was so kind and helpful, I wish I could force her to be my next door neighbor. We rented two e-bikes for a half day. Jen gave us great directions on where to go to see the best scenery. It was lovely. We went up the hill to Twin lakes, George and Mary lakes, and many more. So pretty. Prices were good, but service was outstanding! The most unprofessional and greedy ski shop I've came across in my 7 years of snowboarding. I brought a friend to rent here and she got the demo snowboard package. It came with very old looking bindings and they claimed that it was all they had. Day 2 on the slopes, front binding became loose and back binding ankle strap couldn't click in. My friend was stuck on the mountain without safe equipment to get down, so she had to call ski patrol to get her down with downhill lifts. A fun blue bird day was cut short for her. When returning the gear and asking for a refund for the second day, the shop had the audacity to deny responsibility and claim that the gear was working when it was rented out and that my friend should've brought the gear back while being stuck on the mountain. They ended up offering a 5 dollar discount, when the old equipment they rented out wasn't even worth the 2 days demo price was that was charged. This shop does not belong in the ski industry. It showed zero concerns about the safety of their patrons and zero responsibility for the garbage equipment that they rented out. read more

We camp in Mammoth every year with a really big group and I bring all my friends here to rent bikes. They sell their rentals as well which is super cool. They over charged me for the rental of an equipment. I remeted the equipment after 1 pm on Friday. I told them it was to go skiing the next day. On Saturday there was a very bad storm everything was closed. I brought the equipment back on Sunday, they charged me for 2.5 days. They are very inconsiderate and if I were you i would rent somewhere else where they are more understanding. read more

This is the second year in a row that we rented skis and boots from Get Outdoors. Fast friendly service, great prices with discount coupon on their website (save $$$ compared to renting on the slopes), and the boots/skis were in great condition. I'm not sure what is so great about this place. I've been here twice and both times were bleh. Though sports stores in Mammoth are mostly subpar in service. I stopped by here because I saw the hundreds of bikes out front, so clearly they have a mechanic here. Right? Well I don't know. I had a stuck nut I was hoping a mechanic could help me get out (a 60 second job with the right tool) and I was willing to pay. The place (an outdoor store) was completely empty. That's rare in Mammoth. The first young gal I saw had common sense and went to try to find someone. Then, The Store Drone (each establishment in Mammoth has at least one) said something like they can't offer that service. Seriously? It's 2 minutes of your time. I made a comment and left. The manager or owner yelled something at me but I couldn't care less what she had to say. I am sure that first young gal will be admonished for trying to provide good customer service. That's too bad. You lost a customer because you wouldn't give me two minutes of your time when the store was completely empty. ASO was happy to have my business, did it for free, and earned a fat tip. So let's assume they're correct that they don't have the resources to provide this tiny service. DO NOT rent any of their bikes then. This means they are not getting serviced by a mechanic and or they do not have the right tools to do so. That could be dangerous. That's assuming they're telling the truth. Otherwise it's just piss poor service. So, if you're looking to get outdoors 365, better make sure everything works because these people won't help you. Poor service isn't uncommon in Mammoth. These places know that for every customer that could be loyal, they could take advantage of 500 tourists that will never be back. I guess they were willing to take that gamble. read more

My friends and I (group of 4) came in 5-10 minutes before the rental hours were going to close and the owner(?) or employee was nice enough to let us rent our gear! (We stayed behind for almost a good hour) We rented the standard snowboard package ($37/day for board, bindings, and boots), helmet ($10/day) and the service was phenomenal! He patiently helped us get our gear and answered our questions about snowboarding in general because most of us were beginners. Overall, a great friendly gentleman. Btw, there's also a wide selection of jackets, pants, goggles, and other accessories you would need for snowboarding or skiing. The board, bindings, and boots worked well on the slopes. The helmet did fit but there was a bit of pressure on the sides of our heads because of our "Asian" shaped heads. However, I heard they might have the Asian fit helmets by next year! Would definitely come back to this store if I ever decide to visit mammoth again! read more

Came here on a Wednesday morning with a group of 8. We had no idea what to expect but we were greeted by a lady, I think her name was Anita. She was very helpful and patient. We explained to her what we wanted to do and she guided us in the right direction. My 7 year old was able to ride with my husband on an attached seat which she pedals but he did all the work. Great rental place close to the gondolas to get to the canyon lodge summit. We came on a weeknight and all 6 of us got outfitted for snowboarding. The guys that helped us were patient and helpful. We returned our boards the next day after boarding without a hiccup. The whole process was easy peasy and I would recommend you get your rentals here over the more expensive places closer to the ski summit. The cherry on top was the three friendly, resident dogs: two miniature Australian shepherds and the biggest fluffiest husky/malamute. I was so excited to come back and return my board the next day and say hi to them. Parking is easy and not tight. Can't go wrong. Rentals are upstairs. read more

Wanted to rent EBikes for my son and I during their 5:15-7:15 time slot while my husband and other son played golf. We arrived at 4:15 and asked if we could start the two hour time slot early to coordinate with their tee time as we only had one car on our family vacation. Anita, the owner, said no although they had plenty of bikes, don't allow 1 hour rentals and the 4 hour rental option wasn't available either to anyone else since they close at 7:30. So my son and I sat in the parking lot for one hour to abide by her mere principle. Not only was she not empathetic to our circumstances, she was very rude to us. Based on other reviews, this just seems to be her unpleasant personality. My son had his heart set on biking so we waited. The older gentleman helped with renting out the gears, and he was very attentive for boot fitting and board selecting. He also gave good advice on boots and board. FANTASTIC - Made the 4.5 hour run up to Mammoth to get my new ski boots and was stoked to find Van working that day.
