The Equinox
Amy W.

We stopped here on the way to Grand Rapids and we really enjoyed ourselves. I chose the Equinox which is basically a New York Sour, which is one of my favorite drinks. We split a burger with bacon jam and pepper jack cheese and fries. It was yummy but that cheese was HOT! I was not expecting it to be that hot. Lol. I was sweating. I finished my half though haha. The shoe string fries were fantastic. We really had fun here. The whole downtown area is adorable. I wish we had more time to hang out.

That's ok not here for that. I was attended two by two lovely people and they had a birthday party and about 4 other groups to deal with, yet I got conversation and even information about the wines. I stepped up for a tasting, it was six wines and not a one was bad.  Capriccio- I cycled back to this as I didn't notice the description. Not big on high tannins, the tannin dryness is subtle but still too much for me. I can see using this for steaks and Italian. Not overtly in your face for a red which is a winner for me. Pinot Gris- nice and light not as dry as a chardonnay. Beautifully delicate Roche Rose-more fruity than a normal rose. Very nice to go with any fish or chicken but also, nice casual drinking wine. Briarwood- delightful red finishing wine. Sweet but nice to have near dessert. Green apple sangria- this sweet fruit has a forward sweet (grape?) with a tart finish (oooo, that green apple is tasty) and becareful, you'll want more than just a taste and you might finish a bottle.  Peach Mango- wow..the peach is strong and the mango is hinted which is perfect if you aren't into a flowery taste (too much mango tasted like flowers). I can that although the green apple sangria is right next to it, this is a totally different taste. Definitely nice dessert wine or even can be a good spritzer. This business has a backdrop that even has a ring set of lights so you can get a good picture of everyone. One of the people apologized for the busy nature and told her that being busy says a lot for the business. If you're in the area, looking for some tastings of good wine and even a good charcuterie board or cheese and wine pairing...this is a great place. Go here, support local and support a woman run and owned company. This place has got it going on!

The food, wine and margaritas were absolutely amazing. We went in on a Sunday , May 2nd, after noon…read moreso it wasn't super busy. I felt our waitress or lady helping us didn't want to be there and just didn't seem very enthusiastic, but I will say she brought everything out in a timely manner so no complaints besides the lady helping us. The inside is beautiful as well and I love the modern music they play since we were a younger crowd.

Great outdoor space! What a gem in the heart of Galesburg. Service was fast and friendly, and the…read moredrinks were spot-on. Went with bff and had a lovely evening on the back patio. I had a "blue note" cocktail and my bestie had a gin & tonic. Well-balanced spirits were served in chilled rocks glasses. Lots of fun cocktails on their menu! We each followed with a pint of their "Alesburg" ale, which was a refreshing blond ale with a light zip of bitterness, not as hoppy as an IPA (my go-to standard) but not one-note and watery like a lot of ales can be. See pics for the current menu. No food, here, but Pizza King occupies the front of the building and if you tell them you're at the Distillery they will call you when your order is ready. You can also bring food in from outside. Overall a great experience. We WILL be back! Update: went back for live music on the weekend and tried a few more drinks. Added a pic of "the Kingmaker" here. Another lovely evening with great service.

First (and LAST) visit on 5-21-26. Arrived at 7:30 pm - stayed for 90 minutes - which (in…read morehindsight) was 89 minutes too long. The place wasn't crowded but the service was turtle slow. I ordered a gin & tonic with a lime and a hotdog. The dog NEVER ARRIVED despite two "Is there a problem of some sort?"inquiries. The response each time was "It will be right out." The gin wasn't remotely similar to any gin I've had previously - even the bargain basement brands. In addition to the unpleasant taste, it was grossly overpriced, as is everything else on the drink list. I was charged for the tonic as well - which is another first. I'm surprised they didn't charge for the ice cubes and add a glass rental & washing fee. To top off the evening, when the bill arrived (10 minutes after I requested it) the waitress had the gall to present me with a tip screen first (I chose the No Tip option) followed by the bill screen. This place adds a 3% fee for credit card payment without disclosing that on the front door and on the menu/drink list, which violates the Michigan Consumer Protection statute as well as credit card issuer rules. Needless to say, I won't be returning - and I won't be recommending the GLD to anyone else either.

From the wide variety of wine to frozen wine slushees in seasonal flavors...and let's not forget a full charcuterie menu! They even have multiple flavors of wine slushies. They do not serve food here, but they do have some snacks if you need to temper all that alcohol. Tastings are very reasonable priced, and the location in great right in downtown Marshall. We stopped in a for a tasting after grabbing dinner around the corner at Schuler's, which made for the perfect evening. We definitely plan to return! Yelp won't let me add their website since it's Facebook, but this location only has a Facebook page, not an actual website.
