I stepped up for a tasting, it was six wines and not a one was bad.  Capriccio- I cycled back to this as I didn't notice the description. Not big on high tannins, the tannin dryness is subtle but still too much for me. I can see using this for steaks and Italian. Not overtly in your face for a red which is a winner for me. Pinot Gris- nice and light not as dry as a chardonnay. Beautifully delicate Roche Rose-more fruity than a normal rose. Very nice to go with any fish or chicken but also, nice casual drinking wine. Briarwood- delightful red finishing wine. Sweet but nice to have near dessert. Green apple sangria- this sweet fruit has a forward sweet (grape?) with a tart finish (oooo, that green apple is tasty) and becareful, you'll want more than just a taste and you might finish a bottle.  Peach Mango- wow..the peach is strong and the mango is hinted which is perfect if you aren't into a flowery taste (too much mango tasted like flowers). I can that although the green apple sangria is right next to it, this is a totally different taste. Definitely nice dessert wine or even can be a good spritzer. This business has a backdrop that even has a ring set of lights so you can get a good picture of everyone. One of the people apologized for the busy nature and told her that being busy says a lot for the business. If you're in the area, looking for some tastings of good wine and even a good charcuterie board or cheese and wine pairing...this is a great place. I ordered a gin & tonic with a lime and a hotdog. The dog NEVER ARRIVED despite two "Is there a problem of some sort?"inquiries. The response each time was "It will be right out." The gin wasn't remotely similar to any gin I've had previously - even the bargain basement brands. In addition to the unpleasant taste, it was grossly overpriced, as is everything else on the drink list. I was charged for the tonic as well - which is another first. I'm surprised they didn't charge for the ice cubes and add a glass rental & washing fee. To top off the evening, when the bill arrived (10 minutes after I requested it) the waitress had the gall to present me with a tip screen first (I chose the No Tip option) followed by the bill screen. This place adds a 3% fee for credit card payment without disclosing that on the front door and on the menu/drink list, which violates the Michigan Consumer Protection statute as well as credit card issuer rules. Needless to say, I won't be returning - and I won't be recommending the GLD to anyone else either.

Small but modern and clean bathrooms. The tables are nice but the chairs, both inside and in the outdoor ceremony area, are hard and uncomfortable. The outdoor wedding area has a pebble main aisle. The wedding party knew so the girls wore flats, but many of the women guests had a hard time with their heels. The area outdoors is sloped downwards toward the pond, so everyone gets a good look at the area where the couple exchange vows. The pond is very pretty, and there is a very small, maybe 1/2 acre, grape vine area. I believe this was planted to justify the winery theme in portions of the venue. The bar area is very basic, not even a sink, so the parties need to use ice tubs and kegs and keep the drinks very simple.

It was a great area and space with plenty of seating. Even on a cooler fall day, there was a good crowd. We each did a tasting, which was very economical and allowed us to try a bit of everything. We really enjoyed our experience, but we went on a day when they had food trucks and the truck was kind of sold out of most items, so we wish there were more food and snack options, but other than that, we had a lovely time. It was a great place to visit and we were able to take some great family photos with the beautiful scenery here.
