I was looking for a used Kronos2 Titanium workstation, new Kronos2 workstation, or a new Nautilus workstation. I decided to get a used Nautilus, since the price was right and it is essentially an updated Kronos2 without Karma. Thanks to Scott Thompson of Guitar Center in Wilmington, Delaware for texting me some good pictures of one they had in stock. Since the online picture wasn't clear. I purchased it 50 days ago. Received it 45 days ago. It was listed in excellent condition on the GC website. Functionally, it is in excellent working condition. Cosmetically, it has scratches and some scrapes on bottom. Which falls in the good condition category. If you don't look at the bottom of the workstation, it would appear to be in excellent cosmetic condition. Another issue was the unsecured bubble wrap packaging on the left side of the workstation. Which caused some transit cosmetic damage to the left side of the workstation. As shown in picture, a small piece of the left side of top plastic edge was broken off near the joystick. Nautilus also has some paint chips to the left side as well. Which appears to have been done in transit by UPS. I didnt bother reporting it to UPS or GC. Even with the incorrect listed condition category and the transit-related cosmetic damage, it was still a great deal for the price. read more

I have literally been in there for an hour and no one came up to ask if I needed any help or had questions. After years of trying to decide between a really nice Martin or a Gibson. I finally landed on the Gibson songwriter in rosewood burst. I placed my order with musician's friend and it was shipped out from guitar center in Wilmington with a 8-in crack on the top. Wtf! This is a $3600.00 guitar guys. It came in a J45 case (not ohsc) so I don't know how anyone could miss the San Andreas fault across the back of my new guitar. Someone placed the guitar in the case. Like so many of you, I love my guitars. If it was not for this huge crack I would have kept this one forever. I am so incredibly disappointed because to me choosing a new guitar especially a high-end american-made guitar is a big deal and you guys really let me down. read more

I didn't even bother buying anything because the people that were working there seemed too preoccupied with personal conversations. I waited around for 40 minutes on a Sunday. It was not busy. Great selection on equipment but very unhelpful and careless staff working there. Alex T helped us at the counter while we were checking out and he was extremely repulsive. For someone who works in customer service he lacked the customer service part. He sat behind the desk on his phone during the entirety of our check out process. At that point we were ready to ask for a refund and give our business to another place but that would've required having to spend even more time with him. read more

My elderly father walked in and walked around today for some time and was not greeted once. He was ready to buy a steel guitar and a few other items that might have paid their rent. But I am optimistic that they will work on they're short comings. The store itself has a amazing collection of new and used gear. With some work and re-training of staff I feel this store can be one of the best in the area. Just remember guys. You work in a music store. Your musicians yourselves. Your jobs rock! Show it. Went to shop for my daughters Christmas gift about 10 mins ago. She wanted a microphone. My husband and I were in the recording section trying to find the best microphone for her. While my husband was looking I glance over at one of the workers (wearing a bright neon yellow hoodie) just staring and stalking like we were trying to steal. I called ahead of time and asked if the Nate Smith signature series drum sticks by Vic Firth were in stock, to which I was told by an associate that the item was in stock. When I arrived, there were no drumsticks. The same associate told me that he only checked on the computer to see if they were in stock, and not the shelf. Then he said "those drumsticks are most likely in the back, still in a box, and there's like, 14 boxes back there to go through, so, sorry." O how I despise nearly every visit to the Wilmington Delaware Guitar Center Store in recent years! Visited again just 3 evenings ago, and was again, dismayed. 1) The purpose of my visit this time, was to see if, upon entry into the store, on the floor, on the right-hand side wall (across from the Scarlett audio interfaces on display in a glass display case in the main checkout counter space), I wanted to see if the years-long-supply of used audio cables were *finally* priced -- without those insanely ridiculous high "LIST PRICE" Bar-code tags tied to nearly all of them -- with absolutely *no* indication what percent the price reduction would be, on those used cables! But lo! The list prices are *still* on those cables! My previous visit a month earlier ended in frustration mixed with shock, as I had spent nearly 45 minutes riffling through that tangled assortment of "List Price tagged" used audio cables, having a pile of desirable ones for purchase on the floor for a good length of time -- with no one asking me if I needed any assistance. When I finally brought the cables to the checkout counter near the front door entrance, the two sales associates behind said counter politely informed me they have no idea what the discount is on those cables, because the store manager had left for the day! My response to them (since I had worked in the electronics retail space for much of my life -- yet I'm retired now, but I digress... My response to those associates was: "It's been a couple years now, that these used audio cables have not been repriced for sale, and it's pathetic that management has not empowered the sales associates with a nominal discount percentage to deduct from the List Price tags on these used cables. No *wonder* these cables aren't selling -- and the pile is only growing. What's *wrong* with Guitar Center here, in their refusal to tag lots of items on display in this store?" (pgb paraphrased) 2) During my very last visit to Guitar Center, Wilmington DE store just 3 evenings ago, I spent *well* over an hour and a half wandering throughout various departments in the store, with not one sales representative even *hinting* at a desire to assist me, except for the youthful dark-haired, pleasant gentleman behind the counter in the Drums Department: He was particularly cheerful, greeting me, and expressed a willingness to help but I only visited that department out of curiosity -- not to purchase anything. 'Just wanted to check the electronic drum products out before leaving the store. 3) Did I mention lots of items on display lack a price & description tag -- including some notable used Keyboard workstations? 4) The front glass counter is *known* for often housing new items with no price tag 5) I no longer receive Guitar Center Emails for Specials, despite having purchased thousands of dollars worth of gear over the years. What's up with that!? 6) Used gear at the Wilmington, DE location of Guitar Center is often *overpriced*, compared to other Guitar Center locations -- likely cheating the customer simply because there's no sales tax in Delaware. I once attempted to purchase an Arturia MiniBrute which was overpriced, compared to every other Guitar Center store's Used pricing, and the manager there (a short guy whom I haven't seen anymore) utterly *refused* to sell that "same-condition-as-the-other-used-Minibrute 2s" in other store locations, for the same price on offer through those other locations, insisting I needed to "order and wait for the item to be shipped from the alternate store location, to this [Delaware Store] location" if I insisted I wanted to purchase at the [approximately $50 lower price on offer at the other stores for the same "very good condition" MiniBrute 2s. I do not understand the negative reviews. I just purchased my first Martin from Scott at Guitair center. He was very attentive. Let me play for a while and checked in periodically. I decided I wanted one of the models that he did not have on the shelf. He dug through the back and pulled out the exact Guitair I wanted. Mike the tech checked it out and adjusted it free of charge. Pleasant experience. Plus no sales tax. No brainer. read more

Okay secretly aim only writing this review because ai need to go back and check out all the guitars again. I went here around Christmas of 2016 with my brothers, who grew up playing bass and guitar, just to futz about and check out stuff (parents...). This place is incredibly and you can get literally any type of guitar you can conceive of. I actually got a full box (brand new guitar, cord chart, picks, tuner. Etc) for just 70 bucks. Pus its Delaware so it's tax free shopping. Even if you don't play guitar, this definitely beats sitting around your grandmas house. (Unless your grandma plays guitar and she is chalk full of weird stories about getting high with your uncle). read more

We were told to contact their verifications department. We were on hold again for another 15 minutes! When I called the Wilmington, DE store, I couldn't even get someone to help us with our order. EDIT: went back and had a wholly different experience with a different manager. Great job guys. Love this chain but brought an amp in to exchange for another and had a strange experience with the manager. When I came in, the manager seemed eager to help. But over the course of 50mins, he answered the phone 6 times (with 3 other employees standing around doing nothing), making me wait while he chatted and did other things, all the while telling me how busy he was, and then he finally told me I'd have to get help from someone else because he had something else to attend to -- my amp exchange was half way through with the computer screen still open. I kind of lost it and told him he shouldn't have told me he could help me an hour prior if he was going to drag out the exchange and give up for no discernible reason because I, too, am a busy man. It was like my tantrum triggered something because he changed demeanor almost completely at that point and helped with my 3min task. Love Guitar Center but sometimes wish they were more professional. I hated to get rid of some gear here but I did it so you can blame me for taking the amount they offer. I just think it's a little absurd that they expect to make a 60/40 split on all used equipment. I really just wanted to trade a dual rectifier head for a telecaster and they would not budge on the price for the head. Even though they're currently selling from the 1999 era for $1600 or so on reverb and eBay. They gave me $750 for it. I asked for maybe a nice case for the Tele thrown in since that amp will sell with no issue. No dice on that either. Sadly in Delaware you either go to them or roll the dice online hoping. Yesterday I needed a box to ship a vintage lap steel to my son-in-law for an upcoming recording session. In the past I have relied on Guitar Center being able to provide spare boxes for shipping and moving. Yesterday I was told that it is now against store policy to do so. This Guitar Center is almost always super busy because it is close to Philly, not too far from New Jersey and Delaware is a no sales tax state. The team here is knowledgeable and very helpful. The store is usually adequately staffed as well. They tend to have a huge guitar selection and some interesting amp finds as well. The prices here tend to be slightly higher on used stuff but I will frequently have stuff shipped to this store for pickup or buy new items here at sale prices. read more

Purchased several guitars and amps over the last couple months. Several of the purchases were made on a Gear Card so I had points or rewards. I used them to purchase an accessory that I was told would work​ (by the store). Turns ​o​ut the tool didn't work with the software so I figured I would exchange for a similar​, b​ut more expensive tool​ (of course paying the difference). After waiting for 20 minutes for the salesperson to try and do a return I was finally told that since it was rewards there was no value. I only wanted to exchange for a higher price item. Now 35 minutes later I am debating with the manager while the other salesperson is now explaining its "free money" while I am explaining my free money was spent on something the​y assured me would work. and said free money came from me spending 5k over the last couple months. They ​said they are doing me a favor. ​Poorly run, understaffed, uninformed store. ​Forget customer service. Very disappointed. I have been forgiving to this place. I always prefer to see and hear something in person before I buy it. I had my old Rickenbacker bass worked on there and they did it well. Good for strings and related things. I feel bad for them as their supply chain has obviously been impacted by COVID. I wanted a small bass amp (one of the little Fender ones) and when I stopped in they didn't have any, I used to be able to walk in there and buy things that I needed right away. Even worse the guy tried to sell me a guitar amp instead and said that it would be "just as good for what I wanted." Pretty bad advice. Constantly making purchases in the Wilmington store over the course of years. Issues with "Manager" Steve. Very rude, no sense of urgency, and seems upset at a customer trying to get a good deal and take advantage of the warranty. Was told by another employee a month ago when I bought it (while he was also helping me) that I could replace my product if broken with the closest model (which is a lie, and also the only reason i was coerced into buying the warranty. ) Once he explained that's not the case, and I asked about a power cord, he seemed more interested in rummaging around in their loose cords, and trying to give me a cord that doesn't fit the voltage I need, instead of taking the power cord from the same item (another used one). After continuously asking to speak to someone else (even after he went to the back and spoke to a mysterious person) he denies the request and finally states that's he's the manager. He finally calls ANOTHER mystery person and they tell him to take the cord out the other used box like we have been asking him to do, since we have now been in the store probably 50 mins. Not happy. Always felt off with this guy and now I know he's the manager i never want to come back. read more

Love our Local GC in Delaware! Great staff but they could definitely use more help! I've bought 2 guitars here and always go in for my accessories here! Knowledgeable staff who are also players. Bought a used Epi LP Standard PRO which I've had a luthier completely upgrade and a Gretsch G5420TG Snowcrest White. Each time the salesman went over all of the details and also gave me some tips, which led to the upgrades in the Les Paul btw ;). Everytime I go, it turns into a few hours because of all of the guitars there just waiting to be played. Great selection of varying types of amps, pedals, cases, pedalboards...you name it, almost anything you could need. I know people love to hate on GC but let's face it most of the mom & pop stores went out of business in my area long before Guitar Center even arrived! And none had the selection or variety either! read more

Drove half an hour back home and figured I would call because it was still listed as in stock on the website. I just called them, yes we definitely have 4 in stock.
