Five stars to Allen. He greeted us as we entered and offered to help. He immediately took us to the strings so we could replace the frayed one on my son's guitar. He was knowledgeable and offered some input on the prices vs quality. I appreciated that. My son had been eyeing a placid blue electric guitar with amp set for his birthday. Allen was again knowledgeable and unhurried in his assistance and answering questions. We noticed a different price at another location. Allen actually spoke to someone and asked for a price closer to what we had seen. That was pretty cool. Literally the WORST experience I have ever had in any store, restaurant or business in general. I am dumbfounded and perplexed as to how this place is in business. I went into the store to get a phone/tablet mount that is listed as in stock online, and when I entered the store (first time Guitar Center customer btw) I was immediately struck by the utter disorganization and chaos that was the merchandise/sales floor. The phones were ringing off the hook, there were people looking for help with none to be found. Identifying employees was ridiculously hard (maybe there just simply were not any, I never found out). I looked around the store in its disarray for my desired item and didn't see anything of the sort. I saw the one person that seemed to be available that was employed by guitar center at the "Repairs" booth. I walked up to him and said "Hey brother, could you point me to where these might be?" (Showing him the listing on my phone) to which he says "not a clue"without looking up and tells me I have to "ask a sales person." I said "First time in here, where are the sales people I haven't seen one yet" he responds "over there" with a nod of his head still not once looking up. Needless to say I left. With brick and mortar businesses dying by the day you would think this company would put a bigger emphasis on survival through excellent customer service (or just basic customer service by having employees look at customers when they are addressing them) and possibly converting a NEW customer when given the chance. Needless to say I will be sharing this at every opportunity that arises as I will never be back to a guitar center again and would warn others to do the same. I came in today to buy a new acoustic guitar and was extremely impressed with the service I received. I did not get the name of the employee that helped me, but he was very knowledgable and helped me pick the perfect guitar! Just before I was about to leave, Don (guitar repairs), asked if I wanted him to open up the box and make sure everything looked good. He ended up tuning my guitar and also took all the packaging with it! Even security offered to carry it out to the car for me! Another employee in the parking lot reminded me to not keep my new guitar in the car, because of the heat. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION - VERY SCUMMY - Context below. I ordered for a NEW EHX pedal online for pick up yesterday, I get confirmation today that it's ready. I get there around 4ish and the sales rep does their thing and says he'll be right back to grab it. 10-15 minutes pass and another sales rep asks if I need help. I ask him what's going on this guy's been gone for a bit that the computer he was on has auto shut off the screen. He said, "Oh you're here for a pedal right?" He says he sees him back there cleaning it he'll be right up. I said, I paid full price for new not used and he says well it's not used it's open box. Not sure why he was trying to justify a bait and switch but regardless, they made no attempt at any point to inform me it was A) open box until I found out on my own (it didn't even come with a power adapter like it's supposed to when the first guy finally gets back) and B) no attempt to offer for a discounted price. It was the only one they had at the store. Guess they were hoping I wouldn't question it. Buyer beware unless ya like gambling. First, I love guitar center and buy occasionally pretty big $ items. Looked online for a $1200 used Taylor and online it said available for pickup at the store. Went there and they said they could not find it. Lost a $1200 sale and wasted my time. Also the locked guitars are ridiculous. These stores unfortunately are doomed if they can't figure out a way to let customers pick and play for trial without the dumb lock rule. The answer is this...GC announces it is now an open club. No membership fee but each customer needs to scan drivers license at door for entry. Then no one will run out with guitars...issue solved. It's basically an online shop if you can't get help to play different guitars...so will go out of business very soon. And that sucks. read more

Buying accessories- I have no idea why it takes them so long to ring people up. Buying strings/picks can take a half hour. Used gear- You can literally buy new gear cheaper online than how they price used gear. Sell gear- Is such a tedious process, have tried selling vintage gear and you'll spend hours and get nowhere. I have purchased guitars and equipment from the Las Vegas Guitar center in the past. There have been no issues and if you need assistance, once you find someone, they're normally helpful. Unfortunately on 2/12 my girlfriend purchased a Spark 2 amp for my bday. It was not in stock so they recommended delivery. We got an email saying it was delivered, but we never received it. After two calls and a more than a weeks time NO MANAGER HAS CALLED BACK... The associate that sold it to me, Alan, has been nice and promised a manager would call back. They have not... I received excellent advice and help from Gabe regarding how to play guitar with my small hands. It's been 60 years since I've played. I have a 3/4 size acoustic guitar and was struggling with muting the strings. He suggested replacing the nylon strings with extra light gauge steel strings after seeing me try to play a guitar with a wider nut. I tried to put the strings on myself, made a mess of the first one, and brought the guitar and strings into the shop. Rick, the technician was able to restring my guitar quickly and gave me some good pointers as well. I'm very pleased with the customer service I received from both Gabe and Rick. read more

I walked into to Guitar Center and immediately felt like I was being interrogated by the security Once I entered the door. Asking me questions, like, What brings me into guitar center, while i'm holding my drum kick pedal wanting to get the necessary hardware to get repaired! I thought Security was supposed to do security work not ask questions to a Guitar center customer! Once I go inside by the customer counter, There were two employees helping other customers but There wasn't any eye contact with me that seemed intentional. I'm thinking they were going to acknowledge me saying...I will be with you or do you have a question? But nothing! Finally They finished up with the customer and finally made Eye contact with me. I asked is there anyone in the drum section that can help me? One employee said no and I work in the guitar section, so I can't help you! Finally another employee, said yes...Someone is back by the drums. So, I go by the drums, someone is there but answering questions with another customer. I'm waiting again where the employee can see me, again, no acknowledgment that I was there wanting to ask a simple question for the Guitar center employee! The customer that the employee was helping was on occupied on with his phone not talking to the customer at all. Instead of the Employee asking me do I need help with something, he just stood there looking up and down, completely ignoring me while I'm standing there with my drum pedal in my hand! After all that, I still didn't get any help! The Guitar center employee went to the front counter and was standing behind the counter not doing anything except ignoring me again! I finally Asked him, do you have any hardware to repair a Drum pedal? The Guitar center employee says, If we did it be where the drums are, Where I was there waiting 15 minutes for that same guitar employee! I felt I was intentionally discriminated against and ignored, not even asked do I need help because of my race! I didn't Appreciate that lack of Professionalism of the Guitar Center Employees! I left Guitar Center On Wednesday August 20, 2025 In The Early Afternoon dissatisfied with their lack of customer service and a sense of Racism! I have never been more unimpressed with a store's lack of competence or accountability. This store lied and "fulfilled" an online order for me and said my products were available at the store. Only when I turned up to retrieve the products they didn't have half of my order . Instead of just transferring the order to the other store, they "fulfilled" the order and charged me for the products, then issued a refund which will take 3-5 days to get my money back. So now, I am out $500 for the next week and still had to go purchase the microphone AGAIN at another store. They tried to process my interface without even so much as an apology for their screw up probably so they could still "keep the sale". This store is lucky I'm in therapy and also that I don't have the time to go back and rip them all new assholes. Incredibly shady business is happening here. This cost me money that I don't have and 3 hours of my only day in town before i have to leave the country tonight. Shame on you guys. read more

This is a review of a recent visit. We came in on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 8pm. When we entered, no one greeted us. We waited nearly twenty minutes for any attention. A brown haired male employee named Dan walked by us and didn't say hello or offer assistance. I was very bothered by this. Why was he unfriendly? Dan actually said hello to OTHER customers but IGNORED us. I only know his name because he said it loudly to another person browsing. Thankfully an awesome employee named Hayden came over and asked if we needed help. Hayden took his time and was patient with us as we tried out a few basses. Went in this afternoon to find a Yamaha speaker and they were fully stocked. What I like about this GC location is that it's pretty big and they seem to have a large selection of items. If I had known they had a lot of stock I would've come here to get the 2 speakers I needed instead of the GC on Charleston. I also like the fact that when I checked GC online before I came in they said it was in stock which is helpful-- so you don't waste a trip. I asked three associates to help me grab a guitar down and all of them either ignored me, told me they were too busy (they were not), or had better things to do. Dave, the last guy I asked, told me to follow him to help me get the guitar down, and then proceeded to go help another person instead, as I watched him completely forget about the customer he was helping in the moment (me). Completely unprofessional. I am more than understand of busy hours and needing to help customers in an efficient way, however this was unacceptable service. Shame on Guitar Center as a company and shame on the associates at the Las Vegas Boulevard location. You guys do not care about your customers who have given you thousand of dollars worth of their money, and this ultimately my breaking point with this company. I entered the location on Craig Rd. The gentleman was so kind and answered all my questions. I was looking to get my guitar tuned but as it turned out it needed a truss rod which mine did not have. The gentleman helped me pick out an equal instrument from their selection. I was unable to get it that day but assured i would be back. The following month i call the store to see if it is still there to find the location closed. I travel to the location on Azure where i was met by a frustrated worker who was rude as if I was bothering him. I explained I had called prior to coming (the day before) and was told the instrument i was looking for was likely there. But as i looked i didnt see it. After explaining to the man present, he fed me some story about things being boxed and sent elsewhere. He asked me to look which i did and didnt see the instrument or the price range i had originally seen at the other location. He reluctantly called another location which had the size acoustic guitar i was looking for. They were willing to ship it to the Azure location. The rude gentleman took my name and number said it would be about "a couple days". I called the Henderson location when i arrived home. The gentleman answering acknowledged the transaction. He confirmed the instrument had been sent and should take "approximately 4 days or so". He also took my name and number. I am so disgusted this all started 7/29 and i still have not heard anything from either location. I will not call them as this is supposed to be their business and it seems not all their customers are valuable. I am beyond disappointed.
