Another LA violin maker confided in me that Juan is among the 10 best in the world at varnish restoration.

Music World is one of the largest music stores and, I believe, THE largest piano retailer in the…read morecity. Their pianos are lovely, they don't mind if you test them out (which I do, gladly), and their staff is friendly and helpful. They offer in store or at home piano and vocal lessons, and have a large selection of sheet music including a digital music-on-demand service. They've been operating here since 1962, so they obviously know what they're doing. If you're a pianist or vocalist, this place is awesome.

Ok, where do I start?…read more So I am up in Vegas for a movie premier.. ( I also have a house there that I like to visit and make sure it hasn't been pillaged, so two birds.. one stone) And I see this guitar online, and it looks pretty cool.... its a Yamaha... yeah, I know what your saying, I never pictured myself in like 100 millennium ever EVER buying a Yamaha guitar... So I drag my happy ass on down to guitar center, and make my way through what seems to be like 258 teenagers until I get to the guitar desk, and say.. "hey, you gotta RGX A2 in stock?" The fat kid behind the counter stares at me with his bad skin and says.... "ummmmmmmmm yeah.." and waddles off somewhere to find it.. he emerges from the back of the store a few minutes later with this interesting looking guitar... **(kinda looks like an Ipod fucked and Xbox 360 and had a fucked up flipper baby, but thats cool, cause | jerk off to fucked up flipper babies.) **-partially stolen from a rant by MC Chris... I grab the guitar from him and notice the weight first.. its 5.5 lbs.. wow.. that is considerably lighter than any of my various guitars. so I plug the bastard in... and it ROcKS!!! like seriously.. sounds great... the price.. 499- not a big deal... so I thank the kid, put down the guitar and leave the store.. (I have a thing about buying instruments that like 408 people have touched before me..) that nite the movie premier was dope! I walked down the red carpet, got my photo taken, got interviewed, and chilled out.. that nite lying in bed.. there I was thinking of that guitar.. I MUST OWN IT!! The next morning I call the small family music store I typically buy things from, none in stock, at LEAST 10 days to get one in.. well me being a man that is ALL about the instant gratification I call around the shops in Vegas..and I find this shop... "Music world" in the phone book.. I have a soft spot in my heart for family owned business, heck my family owns a business, and I would much RATHER give my money to them, than some faceless corporate shithouse.. the man on the phone "Matt" was pleasant, hey said that they did indeed have one in stock.. I said thanks, hung up and went straight there... now. in the place.. its not really a guitar store.. more of a piano place.. so I go in, and there it is.. hanging on the wall... I pull it down, introduce myself.. wow, he remembered me from the phone! I asked to plug the gutar in, and he let me plug it into this crappy little practice amp he had on there, there wasn't much of a response from the amp... and then... here is the kicker.. he says to me "Oh, that must be a bad cord or amp" .................................................................... ........................................................ .............................................. ................................... Fine... I believe the little guy... SOLD! I say, and walk out of the store, he even threw in a free case with the guitar!!! very nice.... the last day I spent playing the guitar.. * I dont have any amps in my vegas house.. so this morning I left vegas early to get home, to plug into my live rig, and let her RIP!!! .................................................. Processor on, amp ON, Footswitches ON!!! ............. ........... no sound.... hmmmm check the cables, cables are good, plug in another guitar.. works fine.. ................ That fucker... he knew the guitar didn't work, and here I am 400 miles away.. So I call him on the phone.. "Oh really? wow, I had no idea..." sure dick.. So I am sending the guitar back to him tomorrow to be delivered in person by a friend of mine.. with the orders to refund my money ASAP!~~~ what is my review? That is bad bad bad bad... bad business dealings.. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND that ANYONE buy a guitar there..

AWFUL WORKMANSHIP, THEN BLAMES THE CUSTOMER FOR BAD WORK! AVOID AT ALL COSTS…read more I don't know how these guys are in business. See photos of their COMPLETED work including miscut glass that doesn't even fill the frame, large gaps in all four corners of a frame, tape on the back so badly misplaced that it's visible from the front, no mounting hardware added to the back (even though it was there beforehand). Their work was paid for by the moving company whose truck overturned. We had been told by the moving company they would pay for full restoration, but they found this sleazy company who was willing to do a lackluster partial job and to ignore the chips and scuffs and everything else caused by the accident. I messaged about the poor quality of the work and asked what he was actually contracted to do vs. not ( assuming it could only be that bad because his hands were tied by the moving company who hired him). He didn't respond until I kept pressing, and when he did respond he then blamed me for his own poor work! See included screenshots of our text exchange. Continue reading for additional details... It gets worse! We had four pieces of framed art and a lamp that were all busted up when the moving company's truck got into an accident on the way to Las Vegas. They were in excellent condition prior to the accident. The owner of the moving company told us he would cover their full restoration and found Art & Antiques Restoration of Las Vegas. They contacted us about picking up the pieces. When they were picked up, it was not by an employee but by a Task Rabbit who had no idea what she was picking up or why. So, I had to give thousands of dollars of art to a complete stranger with no form, no signature, no accountability whatsoever. Thankfully, they were delivered to the shop without a problem. I was called a few days later saying the work was finished and my wife and I picked everything up in the evening. The pieces were partially wrapped for transportation. It just so happened the wrapping covered the parts that were so poorly done. The owner did not offer to show us the finished product before turning them over to us. There was nowhere in his shop to show us. It is extremely cluttered and messy with items leaning against other items, and so on. (I see another comment from someone whose vase was kicked over. It doesn't surprise me at all given the state of the shop.) When we got the pieces home, we noticed the poor quality work immediately, but because the moving company (Brian) was the responsible party, we initially tried to contact them to resolve the situation. We eventually gave up on the moving company helping and contacted these guys directly. I was expecting to get something like "sorry to hear that, why don't you bring them back here and we can take care of it." Instead, he accused me of "hardnosing" him and went on to blame me for much of the damage saying it was due to my "neglect" even though they had just been in a 70 mph crash. ??? I explained further and he told me I had waited too long to voice my concerns and he tried to pass off his awful work as my fault for perhaps dropping them afterwards (which I did not - why would I do that?) And how does that explain the things I complained about, like miscut glass? Or large gaps in all four corners of a frame? Or missing mounting hardware? Or misplaced tape? It's outrageous. You and your art and antiques deserve better care. As did mine. And these guys don't deserve your business. Literally, you could do better by taking your items ANYWHERE but here. I didn't choose to do business with them. But others have and they have issued similar warnings afterward about disastrous work and unscrupulous business practices. Listen to them. Go elsewhere. Large/obvious gaps in all four corners Mis-cut glass that doesn't fill the frame No mounting hardware to hang art (it was there when dropped off) Tape on the back like it was done by a kindergartener (in several places)
