I highly recommend Kessler & Sons. I purchased long distance and Dave was very responsive and helpful. He was able to save me over $1,700.00 on my Selmer clarinet purchase. They are highly knowledgeable and my clarinet arrived properly set up. It was very well packed and it looks and plays beautifully. read more

Best customer service in the county. So helpful having our cello repaired and Accessories updated. We are so thankful for the wonderful staff always smiling, friendly and so knowledgeable. You're greatly appreciated. Thank you so much and I'll be contacting you soon for lessons. read more

Came in to rent a violin. We did not have an appointment, but they were still able to help us. They were pretty busy, got me scared that they would run out of violins to rent out. Luckily, they had a couple left. The staff were attentive and informative. Great and positive customer service! When you rent an instrument, there's a sign in the front to start filling out form that's on a clipboard. Be prepared to have your credit checked. They made sure that they gave my son the right size violin. I'll definitely check the out for further lessons too. read more

I have bought two new saxophones from them. Great company. Saxophones arrived perfect and have held up very well. Very satisfied. Super knowledgeable and friendly to deal with. I like them so much I even made an unboxing video about the Solist bari sax I purchased from them. You can find it on YT. They also donate money to autism every year. I LOVE that! Good people. Good service. Good company. I doubt I will ever shop anywhere else for horns. This photo is of my friend and I performing - both of us playing Kessler horns. read more

Renter Beware! Rental Scam! https://www.kesslerstrings.com/index.htm The claim is that Kessler & Sons Rental $ credit will eventually go towards the purchase of a new instrument at their Retail price. The catch is that Kessler & Sons Retail price is double the cost of the actual instrument that they sell at sale price all the time. This is not clearly stated at time of rental. The Renter, for example, thinks they are renting an instrument selling (Sale Price listed on website) at $400, only to find out later that their Retail price is $900. The best part is contacting the manufacturer to learn their price is $400 and that Kessler and Sons is marking up the Retail price double. Kessler and Sons will then tell you 'it is in the contract' , however, they will not show you your original contract nor does the contract show the Retail cost of the instrument at time of rental, and they do a great job of neglecting to differentiate the difference between sale and retail price at time of Rental agreement. Stay away, buy used, or buy out right, as renting is a Scam! Shame on Kessler and Sons for treating valued customers of over four years like this when it is time to cash in their Rental Credits. read more

Recently I decided to purchase a saxophone and applied with this store for a new saxophone with their rent to own policies. I was excepted, and was told to go to the Henderson location to pick it up. Since I am new to Vegas, my GF and I found ourselves at the wrong store location at the west side of town. Once there, the individuals there complained that they don't have enough new saxophone in stock, and tried to give me a used one. This didn't make sense to me because I was already approved for a new one, and they may not have what might be a sufficient supply of new saxophones on hand, but there were available one in the store. In considering the situation over, I realized that, being Hispanic and always dressed down, might have influenced the sales person to consider me a loss, or non-trustworthy customer. you never really know your customers from their appearance, because my GF and I have a few shops and can afford whatever. And I've been a musician for 40+ years and also have to recommend brands and stores to new musicians when asked for advice. My only regret is that I cannot give this company a -5 for their service. I will definitely promote musicians to stay clear away from them. Well, next week I will be having a C Melody delivered to my door, fully paid :-) read more

My son & I came on a Saturday to get his Alto Sax repaired & rent one. I was impressed by the workers. As busy as the store was they were quickly & throughly taking care of their customers. We didn't have to wait to long & were quickly out the door. This was near the beginning of the school year so you can imagine how crazy it was. Although this location is out of way, the customer service you receive is worth it. read more

Would not have rented from here if I knew a hard inquiry would be done on my credit. I rented for only a few months and it will take two full years for their check to come off my credit report. read more

Great store. Great staff. They always have what I need. Whether it's advice on my current setup or just to talk about the newest instruments on the market, they always have a friendly smile. Their repair shop is also top notch. They've worked on my instruments many times and they've always done right by me. read more

Kessler & Sons - Great store! - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

I've been coming here for about 5 years for my private lessons or to pick up a new music book. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Before and after my lessons or whenever i come in, I'd always have a little chat with Fernando who helps me all the time with whatever I need! I brought a flute i don't use anymore to get it checked out to see if it is still in good condition to sell and they tagged it so I can say it got approved by Kesslers and Sons. Also, if I needed a minor repair for my violin or cello, I never hesitate to ask for some assistance There's a large variety of violins and brass instruments hanging on the walls, or smaller instruments and accessories in glass cases around. They usually have what I need, but if they don't, then they order it for me to pick it up next time I come. Last summer, I applied for a Kessler's and Sons music scholarship so I could get 10 free private lessons and I got it! For the scholarship, I worked with Valerie who was an amazing teacher for just 10 lessons. In the past, I worked with Lee Schreiber for two years who was also a great teacher. Both have taught me so much and I highly recommend them if you are looking for private lessons. I overall recommend Kesslers for any of your musical needs read more

My son is taking band at Ralph Cadwallader Middle School - NW. We received the flyer from his band teacher for this location. It was relatively easy to get to - off of Cheyenne and the 95. Plenty of parking for everyone considering it was in a shopping plaza. Upon entrance, 2 weeks after school had just opened back up, it was PACKED! Everyone was running around, but the staff were super cool and chill. The lovely individual we worked with was the band teacher's wife. She quickly got my son setup with a trombone, all of the cleaning kit, and anything else he needed. We were in and out of the shop under an hour. The cashier was friendly, but in training. She charged my card incorrectly and ended up having to refund/re-charge my card again. Other than that, the staff was very courteous. There is a large selection of instruments at this location. There's a wide variety of payment plans, but we decided to buy the instrument straight since it seemed cheaper than monthly rental and/or monthly rental to purchase. read more

My daughter decided to take music as an elective this year and fell in love with the flute. She asked me to buy one for her so she could practice over the summer. Awesome! Her band teacher recommended Kessler and Sons. Great advise. The ladies there made great recommendations. I came in willing to spend three times as much as I did. Employees were super helpful and actually down sold me on items my daughter wouldn't need until she was really committed. If she decides to keep playing, this shop has my business for life! read more

Rented an alto sax for my son, was not knowledgeable in renting instruments. Staff did not inform me of rental offers, I spent thousands of dollars more than I should have. Just go on Craigs list or Ebay and purchase one, it would be much less than renting from Kessler's. read more

Knowledgeable staff and extremely competitive prices (many are better than any place online). Their selection of instruments for purchase are as good as any other place in town, if not better. Additionally, their rental program can't be beat. read more

Blanka is great! The teachers are great and my son really enjoys his private lessons. Keep up the great work.

I have rented a stand up bass from this store for the past 2 years. When I went the other day to renew my rental the young staff was extremely rude. When I walked in I was greeted by a young girl and I explained to wanted to renew my rental and see what my options for purchase where. She said that I had to wait for a computer the free up. When she explained the the young man what I needed he rolled his eyes and asked for my last name. This was extremely rude especially for someone who has been a customer for the past 2 years and pays for yearly rentals. When I inquired about maintenance on the bass he said that they don't do any of that. I explained how long we've had the bass and he said they don't replace strings. When I asked if I returned the bass if they restring it before renting it out to someone else he didn't answer. The young lady butted in and said she plays the violin and hasn't replaced her strings in 6 years. No one answered my questions nor have us a price when we inquired about new strings. Before I new it he had already processed my card. I left very upset and will NEVER recommend anyone to this store. read more

I used to have such wonderful service here. I have been paying for a school rental violin for three years, two of the years which haven't been used. I received a letter in the mail that I missed a payment and I called and let them know that I haven't used the violin in two years if I could just return it. The lady on the phone said Of course and if I bring it back before the end of the month they will remove the 25 dollar requirement that was missed. I brought in the violin and the individual at the counter looked it over and said you have a balance! I said yeah I called and was told that it will be removed since I am bringing it in by the end of the month. She then says, that is not how we do business! I said well that is what I was told. She then said no, we don't operate like that! I said ok sweetie let me pay your 25 dollars and slapped down my card. Then she said "No need for the attitude!" I said oh you are getting attitude. Then I said what is your name? She said Blanca! I am the assistant manager! I wanted to applaud her life choices for being so proud of being the assistant manager at a music store and using it for clout. However, I said Blanca you need to work on your customer service skills. She said, no because you are wrong! I said the customer is always right! She said and I quote, "that is not how we do business". So Blanca, assistant manager of Kessler Music, you wear your badge loud and proud and keep getting rid of your customers. You won't have that job for too much longer because that music store will be going out of business with you employed. read more

I brought my 40 year old alto recorder on Wednesday morning with the question was it possible to repair the corks at the joints. I didn't think it could be repaired in Las Vegas and that I'd have to ship it to the workshop in Boston. The response was "yes, we can do it." To my great surprise I received a call the next morning before 11am saying the instrument was ready for pickup. The repair was beautifully done and the charge was ridiculously low. D.Q.J. read more

I have to post about this place...every time I reach out to them they help me 100000 percent. I got my daughters cello repaired from here and they did a wonderful job. I have called and asked dumb questions. They answer them. When I was there today. I heard a family wanting to rent an instrument. I was so shocked at how easy it as for them and how inexpensive! They were not sold the plus plus plus BS. I was so impressed! I spoke with Dave Kessler again and he. Is simply amazing. He did not let me oversell myself. He stopped me. Yes. Stopped me. Here I am plus plus plus ING myself. Uoselling myself. He put me in check made recommendations and he was totally right. It is always. Nice to deal with nice people doing wonderful things! Dave helped me chose the right cello from craigslist knowing I was not buying from them. He still totally helped me make the right decision. That was almost 2 years ago. I finally met him today. Still the same helpful person. I got my daughters cello restrung and bridge redone about 7 months ago here and they did a fabulous job! I am not the big spender with lots of money and I have still been treated fairly and professionally. They have been very honest everytime I have dealt with them and very educational everytime too. read more
