Went into return a used item i purchased that was recieved broke. They then convinced me to buy a new one at a decently discounted price. I got the guitar center card because there was 0% finance for 48 months. so i thought. well i guess they randomly can change the months at purchase if they feel like it. After realising my payments were doing nothing to my total i called in to find out i only had 6 months of 0 percent interest and that it all gets charged to the card after 6 months. I would of just bought it outright if I knew they were going to be scums. Any business that aligns themselves with synchro bank is scum right along with them. if youre going to purchase from them don't use their card! Theifs! between intrest and the upcharge on the product i purcahsed i could of bought a whole new one! At no point in time was i told this at purchase. read more

The staff at this Guitar Center in Grand Chute is very friendly and helpful. That's why I drive all the way down from the Northwoods when I need to make a big music gear purchase. The store manager Corey helped me out with an issue where a Markbass bass cabinet that I ordered was unbeknownst to them no longer available. It would have been nice if Markbass gave them a heads up on that!! After that, I decided to ditch the Markbass rig and get an Aguilar bass rig. Corey went out of his way to get me set up with the new bass rig just in time before a big gig. Both of my basses are from Guitar Center as well. I recently ordered a microphone and was impressed by the great deal that they had. I called to make sure that it wasn't too good to be true and sure enough the deal was what it was, so I placed the order. Shortly, I get a call back from another worker who said they "just wanted to make sure I still wanted the mic" because "someone else called the same time as you did wanting the mic but since you placed the order first, we'll ship it out to you." For one, who does that? What's even WORSE than that, is I get an e-mail saying my mic has shipped. I originally paid for two day shipping because I had a deadline for a song I need to record and I am out here in LA, and I find out the dude who shipped the mic shipped it out as GROUND shipping and it won't arrive until next week possibly on Wednesday! I needed it by this Saturday! So much for good faith! read more

Ever been to a quiet music shop with signs "Do not touch" taped on the equipment? Yeah, I've been to plenty and always feel uncomfortable and appalled by the snobbery. This is why Guitar Center is so attractive. I know, I know, this is a chain but the difference with this one is that the guys here know exactly what they're talking about and they encourage using the equipment before purchase. Many of the employees are band members themselves so they understand our concerns and help our band sound better. My husband, the man with a million questions, have spent up to 2 hours here just getting a list of items he'll need for his upcoming gigs and have walked out with no purchase. The guys were able to tell him what works, what doesn't, and provided him with so much advice. They know us on a more personal level now, therefore we only purchase our equipment here. read more

I came here with my daughter one evening looking for a keyboard. Their selection of keyboards on hand is decent as is the variety of guitars and basses. This particular evening, there only appeared to be a couple of employees on hand and they did nothing to make themselves available. I don't know maybe they were busy with customers. But we were never acknowledged--not greeted when we entered, never asked if we needed help or had questions. We spent a half hour trying keyboards and nobody ever entered the keyboard room. I came out and tried 3-4 guitars and basses, still no help. We ultimately left without ever talking to an employee. I ended up going home and spending $1100 on a guitar and a bass online within the next month. Next I'll buy a guitar effects pedal, but I doubt I'll come back here. When you have an in-person store, your advantage over online is assistance and expertise. If you don't have employees available you give up that advantage. read more

My son and I visit the Guitar Center once a month. The employees have always been great. One thing about the Guitar Center that is amazing is that they let us play on the keyboards and synths. I see others trying out the guitars. Employees know people come in to just play on the instruments and the employees probably don't want to bother them. Nice enough employees but Do Not under any circumstances get guitar work done there. I had a minor issue with my guitar fretting out after being exposed to some dry winter air for an extended period. Should be a simple fix and easy prevention in the future. I dropped it off, explained the issue, and requested that they make a minor adjustment without raising the action too high. What I got back a couple weeks later was my guitar with strings about half an inch off the neck, poor intonation, and a truss rod that had been completely backed off. Admittedly, the guitar no longer had string buzz but it was so frustrating to play it may as well have been broken entirely. I paid the 50 bucks or whatever they had charged to ruin my guitar and immediately took it to a guitar tech I trust a couple hundred miles away to fix. I won't make the mistake of asking for even minor repairs from them again. read more
