    SCAM ARTISTS!!! IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!! Avoid at ALL costs, this business should be shut down as it is extorting customers, wish i looked up the reviews before ending up being charged $1800 for a rental car that was supposed to cost around $600. I booked the car in advance of my vacation (November 2024) to pick up from the airport in lisbon portugal. The total was $398 including accident insurance. At the airport i added my boyfriend as a driver to the agreement which was an additional $77 to the price. Fine. When i got to the counter the employee gave me a print out that said there was no damage on the vehicle and told me where in the garage it was located. They did not walk with me to get to the car. Upon getting to the vehicle, there was obvious signs of minor scratches and dents. I found the employee to ask what the deal was and try to get the damage documented so it wouldn't be an issue later. I wish i fought harder to have it documented at that moment. The employee came over to the vehicle and said oh i guess that is some damage, just take photos now and when you drop it off, show the employee that will receive the car. I asked to confirm that there would be an employee there since i would be dropping it off at 6am at the porto airport and i was told that there would definitely be someone there that early. THERE WASNT. After returning home I received an email that said i owed $1200 in damages, this is in addition to the $600 for the rental including accident insurance, toll fees, two drivers on the agreement. I was sent images of the damage which i had corresponding photos from the pick up. There was only one image that they sent me which did not have a time stamp, and i did not have a corresponding photos from the for. The damage in this photo was in a spot that we definitely would have seen, but we did not recall it - i dont think that this is a coincidence that it didnt have a time stamp. This company is absolutely awful and i wouldn't be surprised if this photo was from a different vehicle and they added it to get more money out of me. I am still waiting on a refund for all of the areas of damage that we preexisting and i had time stamped images of but they have completely ghosted me via email. I have called them as well and they just say oh someone will respond to your email by the end of the day, but they never do. They are benefiting from tourists being unable to contact them when they return home to a different country. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE AWFUL AND I AM SO FRUSTRATED THAT I DID NOT SEE THE NUMEROUS REVIEWS THAT ARE SIMILAR TO MINE BEFORE RENTING!!!!! I hope that no one else ends up being charged $1800 for something that should have been $600 and paying for damages that someone else caused/were falsified because these people don't care and are making money that they dont deserve from it!

    Waiting 2.5 hours to get a car because they don't have cars. Would give 0 stars if it was possible.

    Worst car rental ever. Poor customer service, poor communicatiors and no system for dealing with clients. Truly a poor experience.

Tried twice more, wouldn't take it. We were told to take a ticket representing we didn't have a reservation. Waited an hour, then called the 800 number. They said to try the number again, it was valid. Put the number in the machine, the reservation was found and we got a valid waiting ticket. Even though we were issued a ticket at 10:00am, they wouldn't honor it. In total, we waited about 2.5 hours & missed the tour we were driving to, which had non-refundable tickets.

Turned around and had to return to Sixt to get a new car - waited 2 hours till they got a new car that worked. When we returned the car in 3-5-25 we had to wait 2 hours before we could return the car. They were completely backed up. We were happy to be returning the car because of the poor service from rental to returning the car. When returned home we received a bill 2 months later saying we owed another $176 - because we returned the car a day late. We have our paperwork showing on the rental agreement but they keep on saying we own them the money. We will keep fighting with them until they stop. I would never rent from Sixt again.

When we rented the total was around 350 usd, but since that wasn't available and the "only" option was something else this rental turned into all most 1000.00 usd rental. Yes a thousand dollars!!! Even for the highest tiered member of this company you will get no one. service was poor, people were rude and disrespectful upon returning the car. I'd highly suggest renting from another company. Enterprise, Almo and National all the same and I'd stay away!! Definitely not like the service in the US or the car classes for the money paid.

Spent 30 minutes documenting all other existing damage on vehicle. Upon returning the car, they insisted we were responsible for the seat stain. More importantly, TIAGO INACIO, was extremely demeaning and hurled insults at me when I advised that the stain was present at pickup. There's a reason this outfit has poor reviews. It's a thinly veiled extortion racket where they hope they can get you to pay for stuff that has nothing to do with you. And they have the worst customer service I have encountered at a car rental. If you have a choice, avoid this dumpster fire of a company. If you don't, then dedicate 45 minutes documenting even the tiniest marks on the car (inside and out). Otherwise, expect to be cheated and scammed by these guys!

    Centauro Lisbon Airport Booking Number: PR25059249 I am…read morewriting to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from Centauro Rent a Car at Lisbon Airport during my recent rental experience.  I rented a vehicle from your location on Lisbon Airport on May 28, 2025 and returned it on the same location on June 6, 2025.  Unfortunately, my experience was far below the standard I would expect from a professional car rental company. Upon arrival at the Lisbon Airport office, the staff member who assisted us was noticeably rude and unhelpful. We had arrived just as the office opened, and it appeared that assisting us interfered with her plans to go for breakfast with her colleagues. She charged us an additional €209, which she explained consisted of a €100 fuel deposit (refundable if the vehicle was returned with a full tank) and €109 for the Via Verde toll system (also to be refunded upon return of the vehicle). When I questioned why the fuel deposit would only be refunded 10 days after the vehicle was returned, I was told it was due to the need to verify the fuel level and calculate charges. This explanation did not make sense to me, particularly because the Via Verde system is automatically tracked and settled, and should therefore be processed in a similar timeframe. To make matters worse, the representative gave us the wrong car key and left the office immediately with the rest of the staff. We were to turn in the car due to wrong key she gave us  or get assistance for nearly 30 minutes, as there was no one present in the office. This lack of professionalism and preparedness was unacceptable. When we returned the car, which had been refueled completely, the staff member who received the vehicle was extremely rude and dismissive. He refunded only €88.51 and refused to explain why the full €100 was not returned. Instead of providing clarification, he mocked me for accidentally saying "dollars" instead of "euros" and offered no meaningful assistance. I was on a tight schedule to catch my flight and had no choice but to leave without resolving the issue. Upon reviewing my account later, I realized that the €88.51 was not a refund of the fuel deposit at all -- it was the Via Verde refund, minus toll charges incurred during our trip. Additionally, I noticed a charge of €13.20 for tolls from our last day that appeared after the return. This amount should have been deducted from the €100 fuel deposit, meaning that I am owed a refund of €86.80. It has now been almost a moth since the return of the car, and I have yet to receive this refund. I have emailed the company several times and received only automated replies stating that the fuel deposit would be refunded within 10-12 days. I have also called the office multiple times and left voicemails, none of which have been returned. At this point, not only do I feel disappointed and frustrated by the poor customer service I experienced, but I am also still awaiting a refund that the company is obligated to process. I kindly request that Centauro immediately refund the outstanding amount of €86.80 and provide a written confirmation of this action. I hope you will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves and ensure that no other customer is subjected to the same level of unprofessionalism and disregard. I hope I receive the refund they own me of €86.20 soon
