When we walked over to pick up the car it was wedged between two pillars. We had to enter the back seat and pull the car totally out of the stall for us to get in and load our luggage. There was no one there to assist in anyway. The pick up spot was way to dark to take pictures of the vehicle. When we returned the vehicle it was chaotic to say the least. The people directing us didn't ask which car rental place so we had to circle the airport. Once we were there they took photos of the car. (Amazingly the lights were very bright as opposed to the dark pickup area). They found some light scratches smaller than a pen tip (which we believe were already there) What should have cost us less than $200 ended up costing us over $1,200. This was the worst experience we ever had with any car rentals! Big rip off. I will never use them or recommend them ever again.

Very Disappointing and Misleading Experience…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Sixt at Lisbon International Airport. I had already paid through Expedia for an electric car, but when I arrived, the agent made it sound extremely difficult and inconvenient to charge an electric vehicle. Based on what he told me, I decided to switch to another car. The agent then misled me about the additional cost. I was given the impression that the difference would be only about $140 for the entire 5-day rental. Later, I discovered that the actual charges were much higher than what I had been led to believe. Because of this, I returned the car the very next day. Even though I returned the car after only one day, I was still charged a significant amount of money. I have rented cars for many years from different rental companies, and I have never experienced this kind of misleading customer service. I strongly recommend carefully reviewing all charges and paperwork before accepting any vehicle or signing anything. Based on my experience, I will not rent from Sixt again and would advise others to consider other rental companies.

The airport pickup wasn't exactly a great first impression. Everything is done through a kiosk, which can be frustrating if you're not tech-savvy. I also felt a bit pressured to purchase their insurance, even after explaining that I'd already purchased coverage through Expedia. The vehicle pickup itself wasn't the smoothest experience either. That said, the Leiria location completely changed my opinion. The staff there were PHENOMENAL! Not only were they friendly and patient, they were genuinely helpful. I needed to extend my rental, and every employee took the time to walk me through the process and made sure everything was handled. They clearly explained my rental, insurance coverage, and all of my options. If the Leiria branch had its own Yelp page, it would easily earn five stars from me. They turned my experience around.

We tried asking about 5 airport employees where the Emerald Club was, no one knows. When we ask Enterprise employees where the EC is, they don't answer. They ask us to show us our membership and reservation then ask us to proceed to the 2nd floor. For Emerald Club members, you will have to hunt around for instructions - which says proceed outside to 2nd floor at Enterprise cabin. We walked upstairs, and outside around the airport. After half an hour, we realize that it was located on the 2nd floor in the rental car parking lot. Such an extensive headache for a service that should have taken the most 15 minutes in the US.
