DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. SCAMMERS.
I'll start by saying I'm Portuguese living abroad and I'll often travel back to Portugal to visit my family. On the 12th of November of 2017 I bought a voucher online for a car rental for 12 days.
On the 15th of January, after arrival we made our way to the Sixt desk and were greeted by one of their staff which asked us if we wanted to upgrade. We said NO. Staff did not asked any further questions, did not offer us any additional insurance or cover and did not explain anything related to the things stated before.
We were naive. We just assumed they were a good company. BIG MISTAKE. After everything seemed to be done with and paid for we got an invoice and automatic charge on our account of 420 pounds!!!!!
For what you ask.
So it seems like the Sixt staff that seemed so helpful at the Lisbon Airport Desk forgot to tell us that they decided to add to our contract "Super Top Cover LDW" and "Tire & Glass Protection" without our consent!
Beware of the digital signature before you sign your contract!!!!
WE NEVER ASKED FOR IT. THEY NEVER OFFER IT. WE NEVER AGREED TO IT. There was no verbal offer, explanation or permission from our part to upgrade. They just added it to our contract without even mentioning it.
Of course I tried to call them. To which they said send an email to the customer service. Email was sent on the 5th of February with NO ANSWER.
So please, do yourself a favor. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THEM. They will hide charges, lie and do anything in their power to wipe you clean. And it seems you can't even do anything about it.
I just find it disgraceful that they can do this to customers, still be in business and that there are no laws to protect us. THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN BE A COMPANY. read more
