Versailles - Tres Leches ($4.95) - good though also on the sweeter side. Not as sweet as the flan.

Dessert was so amazing...i ordered Coconut flan, we also had the rice pudding brûlée. Amazing!! I highly recommend!

Located right off the main stretch of Calle Ocho, this place stays busy for a reason. We had about a 45-minute wait, but honestly it didn't even feel like it. There's a bar outside mixing up fresh mojitos, and right around the corner is their little café where we grabbed cafecitos, an empanada, and a pastelito de queso to hold us over--everything hit. Once inside, the restaurant is massive with multiple dining rooms, but it still keeps that lively, classic Cuban vibe. Luisa took great care of us--super friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience better. We kicked things off with the yuca croquettes (crispy, flavorful, gone in seconds) and went all in on the paella Valenciana. Big portions, packed with flavor, and perfect for sharing. For anyone visiting from out of town, this is a must-stop. It's one of those spots that lives up to the hype--great food, great energy, and a true taste of Miami culture. Easy 5 stars.

Such was the other day when dropping & picking up my car from the auto shop a short walk over from Rinconcito. It's located in a strip mall - along with a few other restaurants - on NW 36th Street next to Palmetto Ford. Needless to say, after starving all day at work and rushing to pick it up before closing time, I was famished and stopped here in my repaired car. The dining room space inside is pretty large, plus they have a few outside tables. My waitress was casually pleasant: not the same level of attention you'd expect at a white glove spot but I wasn't ignored either. I ordered the somewhat healthyish Pollo a la Plancha. Served with cut up onions, a dash of sazon completa and two lemon wedges, this was huge! It took up the entire real estate of a plate, such that the sides were on a separate one. The chicken had good taste & texture, and again, the plate was large and filling. The moros (cuban rice) was with red beans, instead of the black beans I prefer & of course I loved my platanitos (fried plantains). Oh, and cafecito was had. I definitely needed the energy!

The service was okay, if youre going on a Friday or Saturday, be prepared to wait. The pros were that the food was flavorful, the portions were incredibly large, and the prices were fair. The decoration is pretty and I appreciated the accordion door being opened midday to let in the cool breeze from the outside. The cons: We waited super long for service. Once we were done eating, we waited around 30 minutes for our check. We sat by the bar and the bartender was also our waiter. He was so swamped at the bar that he barely paid attention to his other tables. I ordered from their fixed menu and the chicken and waffles were alright, except the chicken was undercooked! See picture attached. So sad because that really ruined my experience and view of this place. All in all, i would recommend skipping this place and trying out other restaurants in the area.
