Hi all I was in the area for a meeting and wanted to eat breakfast so I ordered the #1, 2 fiesd eggs , bacon and French fries with coffee and toast. It seems a lot of food but unfortunately I didn't eat it all because it tasted to me that they fried the 3 items with the same oil or definitely same pan. The bacon was hard and overcooked. Coffee was good and delicious toast! So I won't be eating that again I'm open to try bake pastries or something like that. read more

I recently visited Karla Bakery in Doral. The server at the counter was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. We ordered the Tres Leches, Dulce de Leche, and Cuban Cappuccinos. While the presentation was nice, we personally found the desserts to be very sweet. Having tried these desserts elsewhere before, the sweetness was a bit too much for our taste. It might be perfect for someone who enjoys very sweet treats, but for us, it was a little overpowering. Overall, the service was great, but the sweetness level might not suit everyone's palate. read more

I highly recommend this bakery. The pastries are sweet and flaky. I got the guava and cheese pastry and it was excellent. Of course, you have to get the colada as well - it is a perfectly sweet caffeine fix to start your day. Came early at 8am, which I believe is their opening time, right before being dropped off at the MIA airport. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and steak sandwich with cafe con leche. Definitely filling as they also come with fries. It left us satisfied. It was definitely the perfect start a long airport day at MIA. Super glad they were open early as most aren't. This is a casual spot in a suburban plaza. 15min from airport. Easy to get to and plenty of parking in the adjacent lot. read more

An apparent update to the traditional Cuban-American bakery, this place definitely has something going for it. I've only had the café & pastelitos, but I strongly recommend a visit. The decor is calm, but lively. Clearly there is an eye for design. I haven't been to too many bakeries that invite you to stay a while & enjoy your Cuban fast food in house. With clean tables & enough space, this could easily rival any Starbucks in the area. The pastelitos here fit right in with my "update to the traditional" assessment. They are clearly the traditional offerings (guayaba, queso, etc.). But there are some details that let you know someone is paying attention in the kitchen. The bake on the phyllo dough is just a little more airy & crispy that I've gotten at other places. The portions are generous. And the outside sugar on the queso pastelitos is expert level. It's not so much that they are reinventing anything. It just feels like they are doing it right, but just up to a modern standard. The service also impressed. The couple of times I've visited, the cashier has always retained that casual demeanor you would expect from a neighborhood bakery. But, there's a little something extra. The employees don't seem jaded, exhausted, or just over it like many bakeries (I get it, I know bakeries start at ungodly hours). Easy & helpful, the staff are attentive & responsive. As a lifelong Miami resident, this is the only place that asked me immediately as I ordered if I wanted my cafe con leche oscuro, claro, or termino medio .... con azúcar del cafe solamente o azúcar agregada! I usually have to place my order & then rush the specifications before they turn out the standard. Miami bakeries are a dime a dozen, so when I come across a place doing something just a notch above what's needed, I'm impressed. read more

We requested 2 scrambled with ham and cheese. There was no cheese on them, the scrambled based on the texture You could tell that they first made an omelette and realize it wasn't what we requested and just broke it apart into pieces so it may look like a scrambled. My husband's scrambled, had onions which we did not request. The toast had so much butter that it would drip, and the french fries were way too oily. Terrible never coming back. Pedimos 2 revueltos con jamón y queso. No tenían queso, los revueltos según la textura. Se notaba que primero hicieron una tortilla y se dieron cuenta de que no era lo que habíamos pedido y simplemente la partieron en pedazos para que pareciera un revuelto. My first experience was rather good, getting the steak sandwich. It was to go and I added hot sauce at home. Second experience was on the cusp of breakfast and lunch on a Sunday, dine-in. Not being a big breakfast fan, I was hoping to order from the real food menu but I had to order breakfast. The omelette sandwich itself was OK but what made it not quite so good was the fact that they did not even offer salt or pepper, much less hot sauce. It needed all of the help it could get with flavor. The fries were actually the best part of the meal, done with mayonnaise and mustard separately by my own doing. You'll get decent food, not worth the price but it'll be decent. Three star all the way. read more

The service is always friendly, which I cannot say about other Cuban bakeries in Miami. The cafe con leche (con azucar) is good. I love the guava & cheese pastries. My only complaint is that the pastries always stick to the paper bag. Bits of bag tear off when I pull the pastry out, and I have to remove all them because waxy paper isn't good. You need to update your hours. We drove an hour got here at 7:30 pm and it was closed even though it says open until 10 pm on Yelp.

Let me start of by saying I arrived at 8:30 and saw and empty case of pastelitos which was shocking. The service was also extremely slow. I ordered my croquetas and I was wasting for a while and she told me they were making them "fresh". Fresh was frying frozen croquettas that are not bakery made when I got to try them. I would say I wasted $20 for something I could have done at home. read more

Ownership to the bakery cooks to counter associates makes Karla's the most original Cuban bakery you could find. None of the other bakeries such as Pinecrest or CAO can matches the pastilitos and other bakery goods. Many locations to choose from.
