Stopped in on a Sunday evening to try a few different pies. As I'm getting older, perhaps my tastes…read moreand preferences are changing, so I'll share my experience and anyone reading this can take it for what it is. I did not order ahead, I placed my order in store to get the hottest possible pizza, and I ended up ordering 3 small pies to try some different slices. I ordered two small cheese pizzas, one with mozzarella cheese and the other with Romano cheese, and the third pizza was a deluxe. To begin, I really enjoyed the Romano cheese pizza. The Romano cheese has a sharp flavor, but it doesn't over power the sauce in anyway. The sauce was sweet, tangy, and really shined with the Romano. Most important, it wasn't greasy. The mozzarella cheese pizza was good, but the thicker cheese reduced the sauce flavor a bit, still good, and with all of the pies, the crust is a very light and airy crust which is pleasant to eat. Lastly, for the deluxe, I could have done without that. It was greasy, heavy, but my biggest issue, you can tell some of the toppings came right from a can. Overall, 3.5/5 for me at this pizzeria. I'd come back again, however, I'd stick with the cheese Romano pizza.

We ordered two pizza's both large, one with cheese and one with cheese & pepperoni. The Pizza's were amazing. The people are very friendly & it seems to be a very popular place with the locals. I have to give a shoutout to their staff for their handling & caring of a older lady who came into Uptown Pizza lost & upset. She could have been anyone's Grandma. It was dark out & I felt so bad for her & wanted to help her but I don't know the area well enough to give her any type of direction. The staff at Uptown Pizza sprung into action to help her. Since it was so late & dark they opted to call the Boardman Police to escort her to her destination. That is what you do to foster a good community by being the reason the community is good. Kudos to you Uptown Pizza!!! God bless you guys!!! The Harper's will be ordering our Pizza's from you from now on. Happy Easter!!!

Don't get into the weeds about a 4 versus 5 star review, and please read the entire review. First,…read morethis is my go to place after trying it for the first time 8.16.26. This is for certain, New York (Eastern Pa. Northern N.J.) style pizza, which is refreshing after enduring the Pizza in my part of Ohio. I grew up in NE Pa. and when it comes to Pizza, Cheese Steaks, and overall Italian cuisine, I'm very critical and have transported hundreds of doughballs back to Ohio, so I could enjoy real pizza. I was thoroughly pleased to take the first bite, and subsequently, the next 3 slices, of a pizza that had a good hydration, great undercarriage, and a solid ratio of cheese to sauce. I drove 35 minutes to try it, and I was not disappointed at all. If you're like me, and didn't grow up in Ohio eating what they refer to as pizza, you should absolutely give it a try. Service was fantastic, and the woman that took my order, and checked me out, was very personable, and obviously part of the family that runs the business. Getting in the weeds a bit, understanding that I'm a snob, LOL, The dough had the correct structure, but IMHO, could be cold fermented for a longer period of time to develop much more flavor. Other than that, sauce and cheese is completely subjective, depending on what you like. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu, and appreciate the effort and the food. You now have a customer for life.
