I think I used this place a total of 4 times. The recent experience has me questioning this place,…read moreand I would definitely choose somewhere else to take my test. Most recent experience came today. I took Part A of the exam in December. During that test, there wasn't a rule for "no calculator, no scratch paper, no pencil, no other aid". Didn't have a problem, took that test and off I go. 2 weeks ago on Saturday I was scheduled for Part B. I went for Part B, and it looked like the password given wasn't correct and they could not contact my school. Fine, I'll reschedule. Today was my rescheduled experience. Part B. The proctor stated that, I could not use, "pencil, calculator, scratch paper, or other aid". There was nothing in the final exam regulation that had those clauses. I told the proctor and he wouldn't assist. I tried to show him the information and he said I would have to contact the school. Well, the school has the information on the site. Anyway, I had to take the test without aid. Whatever... But this guy working here obviously was just there for a weekend part time job. And it looks like he hated it. The sketchy part was the charge they put on my card. 5% credit card convenience fee. I did some research on this. In California this is violating the law and terms and condition of Visa/Mastercard. You can find more information here: http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/merchants-add-card-surcharges.php Yes I did pay the amount. But I did not realize that in california, your only allowed to charge 4% max. 5% is over the limit for the surcharge. If your willing to pay such surcharge, go ahead and sign up for your proctor test here. And this is 2017, there really aren't that many small businesses charging processing fees, and if they did, it was something like 2.5-3%. Bay Area Testing Center used Square to process the charge. Square takes 2.75% for all swiped charges, therefore they are profiting 1.25% extra on the proctoring fee.

She said they never allow printouts of the proof of passing the exam. I said "why?" She seemed concerned about cost of the printed page and said they've been there forever and never allowed this. I have NEVER had this happen at any testing site and I've taken plenty of academic/career based exams. She asked if they charged me at other testing sites apparently she was very concerned about the cost of my one page print out proof of passing (after paying over $200 dollars per exam). I would have paid her for the printout but was just shocked at her lack of friendliness. Also they were very loud. They lock the door so they have to unlock door for each person coming in then walking back and forth talking to their back office, reorganizing stuff. Anyway I was excited to pass then really disappointed on how I was treated after the exam. Like why? Bad customer service. There are plenty of testing sites around. Don't go here. Go to San Jose State or another testing center.

My daughter just finished her Freshman year at American University and it has been an excellent fit for her. The only thing I did to help her with her college prep and research was sign her up at the Learning Studios. Christy and her team helped her explore what she wanted to study, what she wanted in a college, what colleges to consider, how to write her statement of purpose, etc., etc., They even helped with her applications for financial aid/scholarships. They held her accountable for all the steps along the way and she was pretty much done with the hard stuff by the start of her Senior year. Without the Learning Studios, I know this would have involved many stressful moments between her and me. It was worth every penny. They also provided excellent math tutoring for her (e.g., precalculus, and AP calc plus more). I've since recommended The Learning Studios to other families and all have been very pleased. I highly recommend The Learning Studios.

Our son had a great experience the past 2 years at the Learning Studio. His grades and his test scores greatly improved with the tutoring and guidance that Christy and her staff, especially Dale, provided. We highly recommend the private calculus tutoring, AP Calculus class, ACT prep and college consulting. His ACT scores greatly improved after taking the ACT prep class and coaching from Christy. Christy Franz and her staff worked with our son from his junior year to prepare for the rigors of high school and the college application process. She was very insightful, patient and intuitive when getting to know my teenage son and what drives him. Christy suggested colleges to apply that might be a "fit" for him. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding what is being taught in the high schools, what colleges to apply to, preparing applications and essay reviews. As a result of the College Application Consulting, our son was admitted to many of his top choices. We highly recommend the college consulting to ease the application process for both the student and parents!

At the end of his 2nd year, he was able to sight read fairly well, and was comfortable playing more advanced pieces. Maria is very responsive and easy to communicate with. She always gave me her genuine opinion and tried her best to personalize the piano experience. I came to think of Maria as not just a teacher, but a friend who truly cared about about my son's progress. Unfortunately due to our schedule, we were unable to continue taking lessons with her. My younger daughter started about a year ago and has continued to progress and very close to learning notes. I would highly recommend Ms. Maria to any family who is looking to introduce their child(ren) to piano.

I have never dealt with such a cold , unkind , and rude company in all my years as both a previous teacher and now a special needs parent . They were flaky to follow up and knew I was under a time crunch with my son so I was understandably trying to email and call them when not getting replies . They chose to send a very stern email to myself and ex husband dismissing us as possible clients and blaming my excessive communications which he then used as part of his "evidence " to try to battle me in court , which fortunately didn't come to fruition . They could have just said it wasn't a good fit or that they realized they didn't have time in their caseload and left it vague , but instead chose to kick a mama that was already down . Years later they came up in a yelp search as we navigate a transition and I still haven't forgotten their lack of grace and unkindness . I recommend doing extensive research and avoiding if you find a better option !
