He learnt several Chinese songs (with some dance moves) and English songs from the music camp, played Ukulele and went to parks to have lunch. He also got himself a playdate from the camp (he is not even 4). The best part he claimed is they have a play area downstairs that they are allowed to be bare feet and no one push him to take a nap. Because of his normal school does not allow bare feet and nap is required, he always talks about the camp now and wants to go back to the camp soon. Our son tried to reason with the kid, tried to get his own materials (which he was scolded for) and tried directly asking the instructor for help, a request which was ignored. I also reported this on an email survey that the camp sent out after the first day but received no reply. We decided to totally skip the last two days and have our son learn coding on his iPad instead because he felt like his time was completely going to waste at Wizbots. I would not recommend this camp to Update to respond to the owner's comment: the camp let's 7 year olds sign up and at no point was I contacted and let know that the age of 7 was too young. As can be seen from other reviews, other 7 year olds do sign up and even have good experiences. The issue here was a lack of intervention against a clear behavioral issue and lack of responsiveness to repeated feedback in real time from my son and myself. I still have never been contacted by anyone from wizbots except via this review.

My daughter completely struggled and did not do anything make any adjustment. I ended up teaching her myself at home on her work. 2. Center can be extremely busy and a lack of staff. I noticed the staff has a serious lack soft skills and caring for the students. 3. Center can be noisy as students are constantly talking and staff does not have control of the classroom. 4. Times when I requested the work to get picked up (when she was not able to attend to class as we requested to pick up work) when we get their, no work was left. Wasted my time to drive there to see no work left. When a center gets to busy and have a lack of staff for the younger kids, the place is a circus. Owner needs to do a better job managing the place. At times, the owner is not even there. This makes it bad to see the MAIN INSTRUCTOR ABSENT. I would NOT recommend this place.

We feel very fortunate to find Stepping Stone as the solution. I attended mandarin weekend school as a child and they taught in the very traditional methods (rote memory, writing pages of characters, etc). I detested going to chinese school. Fortunately, this is not the case at all at SSEA. The teachers are kind, encouraging, motivating and age appropriate. They sing songs, play games, the teachers and children are happy, smiling. The students are well behaved and enjoying their days and LEARNING! SSEA provides pick up from various schools in Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood Shores. They also offer enrichment classes for abacus, art, chess, and piano (keyboard). This solves so many things for us so we don't have to fill up our weekends with these things. While I appreciate that the elementary schools offer Spanish as part of their standard curriculum, I felt it was important to provide the mandarin language learning to my ABC son. I'm sure at this rate his Mandarin will exceed my skills soon. I'm excited to have a "secret" language to share with him. My son LOVES going to chinese school, he's interested in learning more mandarin, and we're all grateful for a caring and effective chinese school in our area. Thank you Stepping Stone!

She loves the tutors at the Laurelwood center and frequently tells us all about how much fun she has had with them. We also appreciate the relative similarity between Mathnasium's curriculum and that of the local public schools. This helps the kids either practice what they're learning at school, or if they get ahead of their grade level, use their school work as a reinforcement for things learned at Mathnasium.

After her teacher suggested extra support, we explored a few options and immediately felt that Mathnasium was the best fit. Brenda and Elyse created such a warm, welcoming environment from day one. The change has been incredible. Now our daughter asks for harder problems and even begs for more time at the center--something we never expected! The instructors are friendly and consistent, and she's built great relationships with her favorite teachers, which makes her excited to keep going.
