I started lessons with Frau Sweeny in the beginning of January this year. Before then, I had only…read morememorized 1000 german words, with very little concept of grammar. Twice a week online, I had lessons with Frau Sweeny, and with her help, on April 10th and 12th, I passed both the A1 and A2 exams. Frau Sweeny is an excellent teacher in many ways, here are a few that stand out to me: Temperament: Although Frau Sweeny has many students, she does a great job every lesson. I always learn something new, and when I have questions from the exercises, I always get a detailed answer; she makes sure I have cleared up what I was confused about. Resourcefulness: Frau Sweeny has provided me with many exercises, worksheets, and explanations about how to use them. These were extremely helpful for me, since neither my family, nor anyone I know speaks a word of german. These resources add value to even the time spent outside of lessons. Experience: I didn't realize this until I was actually taking the speaking part of the test. Frau Sweeny and I focused a lot on the speaking part, as it's the most important in passing the test (also difficult for me to practice on my own). Many things Frau Sweeny said became very useful during the test. With her preparation, not only did I pass the A2 test, I got a perfect score on the speaking part. Instead of being draconian about it, they just graciously give you the chance to make it up later using the app, with a few months' grace to do so. We have mostly seen Mr. Hart as a teacher and he has a wonderful demeanor, does ask the kids to do things but is encouraging rather than demanding. So progress might be slow but at least my son isn't dreading or fearing the water or class. I definitely recommend this school for beginning swimmers, especially if they're a bit timid.

His vocabulary in Chinese and English exploded, and he was so happy to go to school every day. During the SIP, my son really missed his friends and teachers, so we went back to school after SIP. I am glad that teachers were willing to work with children during the rough time. The teachers were kind, the director Sarah was super understanding, and communicative throughout an incredibly difficult year and made a HUGE effort to help parents entertain the little ones at home when everything went remote for a time. We thoroughly appreciated the efforts they made to keep us updated and comfortable throughout the lockdown and beyond. Sometimes I was wondering how my son was doing at school, and I called the Director by phone, and Sarah was able to give me a detailed update about my son's school life. Once awhile, Sarah sent me some nice photos of my son, so I was happy to see my son's daily life in the preschool. These guys REALLY know what they're talking about- Marie Mookini was the director of admissions at Stanford and even created some of the college admissions questions that are still used today (such as: what matters most to you and why). Lisa Park has loads of experience as well and is very dynamic and enthusiastic. It really comes across that this is not just work- Marie and Lisa took the time to engage everyone individually at the workshop I attended (and stayed after to answer questions). The workshop was very professional, interactive, and also packed with useful information. The facilitator's insight and examples had me generating ideas throughout the session. Though the application process is daunting, I left the session feeling confident with a strong understanding of what admissions is looking for and how to go about developing my essays. Note: I haven't seen workshops like these with other consulting companies. They only occur every few months so I would look into it sooner rather than later.

We used the smaller rooms that fit at least 36 chairs, or even 15 chairs, etc. The parking lot is right underneath the school, super convenient to walk directly to class. I left the class feeling changed (hopefully for the better), and will continue to work on what I learned and apply it to daily life.

GSB library/Bass center is my favorite library in Stanford, very clean, spacious, superior,…read moremagnificent, and of high grade, yet exquisite and extravagant in a low profile! It closes at 7pm, unless you are GSB students. My heart beats so fast whenever I walked in, feel closer to my dream, this is the dream library in my dream school! The interior decor makes me feel home, I belong to here! My hearts beat faster when I get in, the African American lady cashier was very helpful and polite. Ground and 1st floor are libraries, while 2nd, 3rd and 4th are all study rooms. I'd love to come more often to study, fulfill my dream here
