I love this place! Kristin offers incredible step by step cookie decorating classes which are great for anyone, both beginners and those who may have more experience (classes often offer different techniques to add to your repertoire)! While you decorate there is always a stellar music playlist going to help fuel your creativity. Every time I'm here it truly feels like a form of art therapy. In addition to the lovely class offerings, Kristin also sells cookie decorating supplies in store as well as online - perfect if you're looking to recreate a class set. Definitely wholeheartedly recommend checking this place out and supporting local business, if I could give it 10 stars I would! :)

I love this cookie studio! I had no idea there was a cookie decorating class in OC, or it never really occurred to me to look. One day one of my friends from our book club asked our group if we wanted to do a cookie decorating class together. I wasn't sure if this would be my thing, but after three of the girls signed up, I decided what the heck, and joined. When we arrived for class I originally thought we would just come in and decorate whatever. It turns out that each month is a theme and you all decorate the same cookies together. (I guess that would make sense!) I looked at the little photo on at our seats of what we would be decorating and I thought, "hahaha. No way are mine going to look anything like that!" Ms. Grunder goes over each step the whole way through for your three or four cookies. You also get to decorate two of each design so you go home with six to eight cookies to munch on. It turned out, my cookies looked pretty darn close to what they were supposed to! She does such a great job showing everyone on her screen. She is so kind too. She also supplies you with everything you need. Just bring yourself. Now I am an addict and I have gone two more times since, with different friends each time. Now I look forward to the next set of classes each month. It will run you $50 which might be a little costly, but I have so much fun every time and you are there 2-2.5 hours. Each month will be sugar cookies and a specialty flavor. My favorite specialty flavor so far was the Halloween month of caramel brownie. My only complaint is that five of the six cookies are sugar and only one is the specialty flavor. I wish it were half and half. I love this studio and I think I will be making frequent visits for a bit.

When in need for a dating activity, family friendly, or just cookie enthusiast, looks no further than cookie studio. The idea of just decorating a cookie is so simple yet so overlooked when it comes to activities. So you start off with a plethora of bags of frosting as well as blank cookies. As you follow the instructor, who sits at the front, you follow along to see how to decorate your cookie. For those that are sitting far, have no worries as there is a screen with a bird's eye view to give everyone full visibility of what she's doing. After you're done decorating, you obviously keep them to either eat or share with others. Why buy cookies when you can the joy of decorating it yourself. I took some liberties in some of the designs just to flex my low artistic abilities. It was fun nonetheless!

So much fun! We can't stop coming back! The directions are super easy, everything you need is ready to go, and the cookies... oh my goodness, they're delicious. I honestly didn't think mine would turn out looking nice, but I was so proud of how they came out. It's the perfect mix of tasty and fun!

I did a cookie decorating class with my mom and her friend. There's about 16 people per class with work stations set up with pre-baked and cooled cookies, icing in piping bags, a photo of the cookie design you'll be creating, scissors, scraping tool, and other miscellaneous items you may need for your cookies. The work stations are prepared before your arrival and are all neatly organized. The instructor kicks off the meeting by giving an overview of how to cut your piping bags and the technique to outline designs. There is a practice sheet they give you for straight lines, curved lines, loops, and circles. That's as very helpful because we refined our movements before moving onto the actual cookie. The whole class is organized very well and the instructor has a projector to show how she decorates each cookie, step by step. You can tell she's been doing this for years because her cookies come out perfect. There are two sets of each design so she does a great job of going over it again in case there are students that didn't quite get it the first time. The instructor and assistant also do an excellent job of going to each work station to gather trash that gathers and to check in on students to see if they need additional supplies. Our class took about 2ish hours, and it's a great activity to do with friends, co-workers, or family. You get to keep your cookies and they have their cookie and icing recipe posted at the front of the class so you can try it on your own.

I've always been curious about cookie decorating and won't lie it seemed really intimidating. So I chalked up the nerves and signed up for a class. The studio set up is super cute for starters. Each person has their own station and instructions are given every step of the way. Clearly I made a lot of errors along the way but was able to fix them and was quite proud of my final product. It's a perfect activity for mother-daughter, father-daughter, friends, sisters.. well anyone to be honest. I'd like to work on my technique so plan to take another class, but can't rave enough about this place. Highly recommend. Also side note they sell everything you need to make your cookies at home there too. So you can shop after class.

I've noticed the Cookie Studio when I came to Kow Mun Gai restaurant for dinner one day. Had the privilege to visit on 10.29.22 with Decorating Cookie with a cop. Registering for the classes was really easy on the website. Came to the class 5 mins before start time. Another class was finishing up. Kristen the owner was so sweet. Welcome us in. We were able to pick our tables where the cookie decorating was set up. Kristin was really informative with cookie decorating instructions on her microphone and Tv mounted on the wall. where she shows step by step decorating . It made it really easy to decorate our cookies The cookies and icing was really good. Not overly sweet. Highly recommend coming here for cookie decorating, date night or hosting a cookie decorating party. The shop is really clean and have a lot of merchandise i including icings, tools needed for all cookie making/decorating available to purchase. Located a few doors down from Kow mun gai Restuarant. Parking right out front of store. The Cookie Studio offers a few classes in a month. Especially for the different holiday season. Sign up for their emails to receive newsletters regarding upcoming events.

What an amazing experience! The studio is so clean and decorated so cute. The owner is the sweetest and it's a family biz her husband and sons were there helping her out with prep and cleaning. She land out the seating so you will always sit with your party and each table is set up with all the utensils, frosting and cookies. She takes you through step by step and is very patient. She explains how to hold the bag, how to cut the tip of the bag just right and how fast or slow to ice your cookie. She has a camera right over her table so you can visually see everything she is doing and has a mic so you can hear her clearly. What a fun activity to do with your family, yes...men too!! Best part, her cookies are DELICIOUS

the best cookie class ever! kristin is the nicest & best teacher i've met. her cookie class is so fun & she really takes the time to make sure you understand each step. she teaches slowly and demonstrates on a screen on what to do & how to do it. 11/10 class & i highly recommend to anyone who wants a fun activity. will definitely be coming back soon :)

Had such a great time cookie decorating ! This class is super cool! If you're a beginner or an expert- it doesn't matter ‍. They have wine you can purchase- it definitely took the edge off for me. There are groups that go together but you can also go by yourself! (I went alone and made some new friends there) I learned a lot of tips and tricks- will definitely go again in the future.

Each course was perfect, and no detail was missed. Each guest was blown away by the amazing flavors and how they seamlessly fit with each other. Course after course of insane flavor and decadence. Chef Matt is easy to work with, very communicative, and has a well thought out plan. He provided a recommended menu, we had him add a beautiful charcuterie board to start the evening, and away he went. He was on time and finished prepping the food in our kitchen with the intoxicating aroma wafting through the house. Thank you, Chef Matt. If I could rate you 10 stars I would.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE…read more This was one of the most interesting, fun, fulfilling experiences my husband and I have ever had. If you are even remotely thinking about booking, I would highly recommend doing so. My husband is very in to cooking/food. He's a cooking show junkie who has no professional training but loves to cook and learn. I booked Chef Matt as a Date Night activity for us. The whole "Before" process was very easy. Chef Matt sent us some sample menus. I chose the California Coastal one. I wasn't super sure about one of the options (I'm kind of a picky eater) so Chef Matt worked with me to swap out the suggested course option to make it something we would enjoy a bit more. I have to note because I was so impressed- This alternative was one of the coolest dishes we had ever had. Chef Matt asked what our favorite vegetable was. My answer was asparagus. Chef Matt prepared a dish that used asparagus 5 different ways! Talk about creative! We loved it! Any how, Chef Matt showed up the day of with everything needed to cook our 4-course meal. I wasn't sure what to expect, so set our table and had the dishwasher empty; ready to go for dishes after the meal. I was happily surprised when Chef Matt showed up with not only the items needed to cook the meal, but also his own pots/pans, cooking utensils, dishes for every course, cleaning products, and a trash bag of his own! The only things we needed were silverware, napkins, and our drinks (which I pre-planned wine pairing to each course...something I'd highly recommend doing/asking about- Chef Matt had great insight for the pairings)! Chef Matt did a little prep work and let us know we could be as involved or uninvolved as we wanted in the cooking process. We chose to be more involved. Chef Matt explained everything he was doing to prepare each dish as we watched. He explained technique, ingredients, past experiences, and shared his passion for food with us. The food from each course was unbelievable. Better than the best restaurant in town! All around the same price we would have spent going to a nice restaurant- 110% worth the value. Chef Matt is truly talented. His creativity, knowledge of the art, and passion for cooking are very well displayed through his food. I would say every course was better than the last, but honestly, each and ever course was so top-notch/delicious it was hard to pick a favorite. It was so cool to see such high quality food being prepared in our very own kitchen. By the time my husband and I finished our last course, Chef Matt already had our kitchen sparkling clean. He did not leave a single crumb, dish, or piece of trash. I cannot say enough good things about this experience or about Chef Matt. My husband and I were beyond impressed. Chef Matt is an awesome, friendly, personable guy who is beyond talented and an excellent teacher. We have so much admiration for him and his art. We will for sure be booking again!

At the end of the class we were sent home with our cakes in a large box. The cake didn't survive despite holding it on our lap. This was not worth the money and we can't even enjoy the cake. Oh the Labubu head was made out of rice crispy treat packages (the Kellogg ones) which I also thought was tacky and those taste awful. With all this said, we won't be back.
