I've driven by this place many times and it always looked closed, so I decided to finally stop in today and give it a try. Unfortunately, my first experience wasn't a good one. I walked in with a friend and there were only about four people inside. One server was behind the bar doing something, which I understand, but even though she saw us, she didn't acknowledge us. Then another server came out from what looked like the back bringing and order, also saw us, and didn't acknowledge us either. We waited a bit longer after both had clearly seen us, but still nothing, so we decided to leave. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference--I would have gladly waited. read more

Came here with the wife to try them out after seeing an Instagram video someone made if them, it looked like a fun spot so we came. And it was, the ambiance was great, very garage style with automotive memorabilia and industrial stylings. Really enjoyed the Mustang rear end both we sat in, gave a nice retro feel. The service was great, we came midday on a Tuesday so it was pretty slow, I think they just opened. Staff was still light but once we were greeted and seated everything was perfect and staff was plenty attentive. The food was delicious, we split a Grub Garage Special hot dog, a Chilanga torta and 3 empanadas and everything was great. Flavorful and cooked well. Would recommend this place and we will be back. The Bell Gardens bike group I ride with some weekends picked this place as a stop for munchies. The outer appearance catches your eye on the street, but the decore inside! They went all out! The menu here is not too big, just tortas, tacos, hot dogs, chilaquiles, and I think I saw a banner out front that read posole and menudo on weekends...might wanna call to confirm that. We all sat outside in their outer patio. The girls came to take our orders, and we did get everything we asked for, they just forgot the request to cut 1 persons hot dog in half. My torta was salchicha and huevo...aka weenie and eggs. The mayo avocado and tomatoes completed it! So yummy. The bread had a toast to it but wasn't too dense. Pillowy soft when you bit into it. Really cool place, the decorations are really unique and special. The entire place is filled with car memorabilia, and it's a themed restaurant that actually makes you feel immersed. The food is pretty great for the price. I recommend their sandwiches or hot dogs. It's a great place to take your kids to have fun. read more

This restaurant has a fun theme and pretty good food. I really enjoyed the decor. I ordered food to go and it did take a while. The food is made fresh though and the tortas are delicious. They have several combinations to choose from. The 2 salsas that they come with were also excellent. The green one had a kick to it and the orange one was nice and creamy. The servers didn't look a bit overwhelmed, but they tried their best. If I go again I will probably order ahead. read more

We went around lunch time on a Saturday and it was pretty empty, we loved the whole garage vibe , kind of being at a museum, we really enjoyed their bean dip that comes our before your meal, got tortas and they were huge ! You can easily share with someone, only think we didn't like was they charge and extra $2 to pay with card . We told waitress we were first timers and it would of been nice if the waitress could explain their menu seeing as we were the only ones there , we had to ask her what the difference was in their fries and she couldn't really explain. I live nearby this place and I drive past it every time. Today, I decided to stop by with my dad and we didn't really know what to expect but I'm glad we came! The server who attended us seemed a bit shy, it seemed like it was his first time as a server but it's okay because he still got our orders right and was very friendly and checked up on us to ask if we needed anything else which was nice. The server brought us chips and salsa and our drinks very fast. My dad and I ordered tortas, he got the Oaxaqueña torta and I got the Toulqueña. We didn't have to wait too long, about 15 mins for our food to arrive. When it arrived, it was piping hot and fresh! The tortas are big and were definitely filling! Delicious flavor and the wooden board they serve the tortas on is such a nice touch! We really enjoyed the food and the decor of the place. The reason why I had an issue with this place was because they asked me to put my card information into their phone. I asked if their card reader worked she said yes but she insisted I enter my card information into her phone. So we decided to leave and as we were leaving the lady I think manager told us "chinga tu madre" as we were leaving. Like do better. read more

The place decor is so cute! Very much a garage vibe. Super colorful and vintage at the same time. The guy who sat us and took our order was very nice. It was great he spoke Spanish and English! We ordered 2 hotdogs, 1 torta and empanadas. We all were satisfied. We liked the that everything was super warm/hot, does take time to get but worth it. We came in during the day and loved the decor. Everything is mechanical or car related! Perfect place to come enjoy with kiddos and or friends. My son is 17 months old and he kept saying WOW to everything! The food was also good! We ordered a few empanadas (camarón/chicharron) and the sauces that accompany it were delicious! Pros: Food is good, if you get what you ordered. You do get free chips and dip. The dip is great the chips were just okay. We got several tortas and 2 hotdogs. They were all tasty. Cons: Sodas are only bottles and cans, so $3-5 each and no refills. I also asked for tap water. I don't usually drink a whole lot while I eat, so I don't normally buy a beverage. However, if I had known that I was going to have to pay for a bottle of water, I would have actually gotten something else or just taking a few drinks off of my husbands drink. The server didn't know the menu. Everything we ordered she referred back to the menu. My son wanted the sausage and egg torta, but told her he only wanted it if it was breakfast sausage. And if it was a hot dog then he would prefer a different sandwich. She said it was breakfast sausage and then brought it to the table and it was a hot dog. They never offered to replace it or take it off of our bill. The server never offered fries or sides of any kind. And if I hadn't said anything she wouldn't have even taken my husband's order. She started repeating the order before she even took his. The food takes forever to come out. We were there about an hour before we finally got all of our food. Plus, it was about 10 minutes from the time the first sandwich came to the table to the time that the last sandwich came to the table. And then we were told that the fries would take another 30 to 40 minutes if we wanted them because they were busy. There were three tables being sat at. When the empanadas arrived, we had ordered the three pack. We ordered three different types of meats. The empanadas were not labeled as to what was what, so we just kind of had to eat and guess. So if you have food allergies, make sure you verify. our cups stayed empty for almost the entire meal and we were never offered to get more drinks. In fact the server only checked on our table three times in the 2 hours that we were there. When we were ready to check out we had to go hunt for server down to get the bill. And when I asked to see the bill, she seemed annoyed. When I reviewed it, I noticed that she had charged us for additional drinks that we never got. And then proceeded to argue with me that it was correct. I had to explain to her that she never offered to get us any additional drinks. And that the one refill that was there was because my son went up to the counter and asked for it. Since we had seven people at our table, 7 + 1 = 8, not nine. She seemed very confused. Overall As good as the food is, I won't go back. The prices are too high, I spent $155 without the tip, and that was for five sandwiches, two hot dogs, 3 empanadas and eight drinks. The service was bad with no apologies or empathy or anything to try and make the slow service better. The seating arrangements are either four tops, six tops or one table that was good for 10 people. So our table was way too big to even be able to have a conversation, but the way that they're seating is, it was the only place that we could all fit together. One of the servers had earphones in his ears and was actually walking around the restaurant talking to people and serving food with earbuds in. The food is good and I think if management can train their staff and get the food out quicker, then it would be worth it, but the way it is now, I wouldn't recommend or go back. read more

I work close by and was excited to see this place finally open up! This is a hidden gem! Stopped by during lunch and got the grub garage special hot dog to go and it was delicious! Love the decorations inside, it's the coolest and most detail restaurant I've seen in a while! as a mechanic myself it was right up my alley, If I wasn't in a hurry I would've love to sit down and enjoy the food and atmosphere in there a while longer. From the moment I walked to this unique restaurant I was impressed for the cleanliness the airy and the original decor inside and outside it was a good feeling very relax ambiance. I was welcome by one of the waitresses (Estefani) very nice attitude, respectful and attentive throughout my stay as well as the second waitress(Vanessa) both had very good customer service. A couple of times I drove by and it caught my eye was a sign about Tortas and Quesadillas Mexico City style and this time that's what I ordered. My order was taken by a young man(Ángel) was a Classic Hot Dogan order of three quesadillas (empanadas) of picadillo con papaa Chilanga Torta. and to drink a Jarrito de Naranja. They had brought me chips but this time it was not salsa but a delicious mild spicy bean dip Also each of my items were accompanied with three different kind of sauces. I was very pleased with the food it was different and delicious. I had the pleasure to meet the young owner(Dianita) a very respectful,hard working woman., my best wishes to her on her restaurant.
