A nice fast food restaurant. The employees were very friendly. They greeted each customer immediately at the door. The sitting area was very cute. The tables were a little small but I think that for a fast food restaurant it is not a big issue. We ordered two smoothies, a salad with Havana vibe and salmon, and a wrap with salmon. The food came with soups - Chicken tortilla and Gluten Free Vegan Minestrone soup. The food was very good. All ingredients were fresh and tasted delicious. The only thing that surprised me was the bill. The food is a little bit too pricey for a fast food restaurant. The total bill was $58! But I guess they have to pay the Pinecrest's rent! read more

I don't know how I feel about Grown. All i want is an Acai Bowl closer to me, as my favourite Juice Bar is completely out of my way. Color me surprised and excited when i find out Grown has one! I walked in and I fell a little in love with the decor. It's all white wood and blue accents and a large shrub taking up the middle from floor to ceiling. The chairs are wood with blue and white wicker and the tables are large and the booths are intimate and homey. When you walk in, there's complimentary water on your right (with flavors that change every day!), and a bar with stools lining all of the left side windows. The cashier greets you as she sees you and the menu is posted on the wall behind her and above the kitchen. I ordered the Acai Bowl... and was told breakfast ended at 11am. Imagine my confusion when i look up at the menu and notice that the acai bowl is under breakfast. I was so disappointed. I don't know, there's a difference with between "Oh, i'm sorry. We don't have those ingredients" and "Nope. That's breakfast only." Not that the cashier was rude, but still. I got frustrated and a little angry. So, this place is delicious and healthy and yes everything tastes extremely fresh and natural however ridiculously overpriced. TWO wraps and a cookie came out to $42!!! What?! Kind of insane. This place is just horrendous! First, i walked in and i just kept walking around to try to get someone's attention and it's as if i were a ghost. I wasn't even being acknowledged until my facial expression changed and my demeanor about after 10 minutes of waiting. Then they take my order and the food is delivered before i was even given my change because she had to go to the back in order to charge me. The food was extremely bland and had no flavor. To top it off the potatoes which could have been great where roasted together with the fish or in the same oven as the fish that you could smell it and it had a slight taste of fish which i do not like. The sparkling water they say the offer that is on tap and it was extremely hot that you could burn yourself. The prices are exorbitant for what it is. I had no idea what to expect going into the restaurant other than is was a "healthy" place to eat. I walk in and am blown away by the atmosphere of flowers and greenery and just a feel good vibe. For lunch I had a salmon entree cooked to a medium rare with a quinoa salad and corn. Everything was DELICIOUS. The staff was friendly and authentic. I am writing this with a heavy heart, because I started out being a huge fan, stood at the lines around the corner when it first opened, ate many meals there, and started picking up when they opened the drive thru. But I have seen the food quality drastically decline, they claim to be 100% organic, and in two separe occasions this past month I saw non organic items being passed as such, the first were apples, one of them still had a sticker on, and it started with a 4 (meaning conventional), and the second was non organic french baguette from Trader Joes, about 8 loafs just laying in the kitchen about to be served. We feed our children organic, and no longer trust that what is coming out of that kitchen is, because if I could see those items from the ordering area, just imagine what they using back in the kitchen where no one is watching. We had talked to the owner and she seemed really passionate about organic, but they are cutting corners now, and it is showing. These are the areas where they are dropping the ball: -the $12 açai bowls were served in a bigger bowl, now they are served in a smaller cup, and not filled up to the top. This past 2 weeks I tried ordering it, and they were always out of something, bananas, açai, nuts, etc, actually that has been happening a lot, I cannot order some smoothies because they were out of almond butter, bananas, almond milk, etc, very annoying. They have been out of their sauces a lot also. -the rotisserie chicken is flavorless and dry, as well as their chicken strips, super hard and flavorless. -the brisket has a strong taste of cinnamon, is very fatty and chewy. -their rice and beans need major improvement, rice is flavorless, and gritty, as if it has sand in it, the beans are al dente, also gritty, definitely need flavor (this is Miami!) and more time cooking -the avocado toast is flavorless, just mashed up avocados, zero seasoning, very underwhelming They still have great items like the blueberry pancakes, mexican corn, salmon, shrimp, salads, smoothies, but now I am wondering if any of it is really organic, I have been paying hefty prices for organic, and I saw with my own eyes things that should have been organic and were definitely not. They claim to be organic certified, but that is not what is going on right now. I also never see the owners there anymore, it feels like the restaurant was left to employees that don't care about the integrity of the food, don't care about having a well stocked kitchen, and with only organic products. I feel duped. The food a year ago seemed better, better recipes, bigger portions, now is getting tasteless and mundane, and now specially after I saw that is not even 100% organic, I won't be paying the high prices they are demanding. $4 for a 3/4 full cup of flavorless rice, is too much, specially if it is not organic, and quite honestly, I no longer believe it is. It's hard to give stars because when it comes to service, AMAZING! Ray Allens wife was there and she was very accommodating and friendly. We talked with her for a long while not even knowing who she was and that she was the owner, although we assumed she at least owned the place. (After reading other reviews from vegans and vegetarians, they surprisingly feel the same) I thought it was just us, but everything was blander than bland. The chicken was half a chicken if I remember correctly and came with a sauce but even still, the flavor just wasn't there. This place is great, from the decor, service, to the quality and taste of the food. We had Mediterranean Wrap with Salmon, Ginger Carrot soup, Salmon with Sweet Potatoes and Corn, as well as Panko Crusted Chicken with Steamed Broccoli for our 3 year old. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Food was brought to us within 3 minutes! Monique, one of the managers, was very sweet and friendly. I stopped in today after having passed the facade dozens of times. It looked like a pretty cool place, and the exterior gives you a pretty good idea of what it's like inside. Lots of bright colors, a lofty ceiling, and a plant wall make for a lively atmosphere. Service was very friendly and I appreciated the suggestions of the cashier, who explained the menu's concept very well. My food also came out very quickly, which was nice. I ordered the lemonade and a Mediterranean salad with chicken. I got salmon instead, but the salmon looked great, so I just went with it. I'm sure they would have fixed it if I had said anything. The food itself was pretty average. This brings me to my biggest complaint with Grown. The prices did not match the quality of the food. I understand that it's organic and healthy, and that's great, but the food itself was nothing to write home about. I can pay less at a much better and conceptually comparable restaurant, such as Spring Chicken. I spent 22.00 on food that would cost half of that and be better somewhere else. This isn't a particularly good place to go if you're looking for gourmet food or something along those lines. If you're just looking for something quick and healthy, this might be a good place. First time here, we came on a Sunday afternoon for late lunch. Ordered chicken tortilla soup and the salmon burger special. My friend said the soup was very tasty although a bit salty. My salmon burger was served with carmelized onions on a toasted bun with a small side salad. It was delicious. The staff was very pleasant. I appreciate the attempt to make a healthy "fast-food" joint in Miami. There are next-to-no options to grab a quick healthy meal in Miami, sadly, so this came as a refreshing change and hopefully one that encourages others to follow suit. The food is okay. That's it, just okay. And that's fine. Again, I would gladly go there frequently for an average, decent tasting healthy meal. The only thing holding me back is.....the cost. Jesus Shuttlesworth is it expensive for the food you're getting! I understand it's organic, unmanufactured food. I understand that that isn't necessarily cheap, but damn. I paid nearly $60 dollars for me and my fiancée ordering to plates, some sparkling water, and a smoothie that looked too small for my hands. They say you first eat with your eyes, so at first glance just walking through the door you're attention is immediately captured by the the decor which is so cozy and inviting that your appetite can't help but open up making you want to order more than your hungry for. This place felt really disorganised. One of us ordered a salad with tuna on it and the base was one of 5 choices which was meant to have sliced apples in it amongst other things. It looked like all the salad bases were the same and ours had no apples. The chicken entree was just a piece of chicken, a pile of white rice, and a pile of some type of creamed corn with cheese in it...$15!! So let me just start off by saying I hardly ever give negative reviews but this is just an absolute must. Grown is a fast food organic non-GMO restaurant that it is totally overpriced, stingy, and the management does not think about details to make their customer's experience better. Let me start with the overpriced and stingy portion of my review. I personally buy all organic and non-GMO groceries every week, in fact I would say about 15% of my diet is not organic, and I've been to plenty of all organic restaurants in South Miami, and never have I paid this much for so little food. I ordered a Mediterranean wrap that was already $10, and to add some type of meat was $6 and up. I GET IT, it's all organic but there's no way you can charge me $16-$20 for a tiny wrap that I can make at home with no special ingredients. If you are looking for something with more bang for your buck I recommend Raw South Juice Company where they literally give you nearly double the amount of food and at a less expensive price. Ok now let me talk about the management at this place. Never have I ever been to or worked at a restaurant where there isn't a manager present at all times, even on Christmas Eve and New Years. When I asked for the manager to complain about how I couldn't drink my smoothie out of the straw because the straws are way too tiny and the smoothie is suuuuper thick (Smoothie 34), there was no manager on site. Although the employee whom I spoke to was polite, I am just truly so unsatisfied with my experience here. From the food, to the smoothie, to just everything. WARNING: SMOOTHIES ARE PREMADE. I've never had a premade smoothie before but I guess there's a first for everything, why they didn't let me know when I was ordering is another question. I get it, it's a "fast food restaurant", but first of all you cannot mix the idea of organic with fast food, it just defeats the purpose. The purpose of an all organic place is to have everything fresh. Instead of making all the smoothies in the morning, why not prep all the ingredients so they're ready for the blender? Or is the blender too slow? Because you have to wait for your food anyway.... And also, if you've had the smoothie before, which this employee told me he had, why does it take the complaint of a customer for the straw sizes to change? You may think this is a stupid complaint, but these small details make the biggest difference. I mean even Panera Bread, has thicker straws for their smoothies. This is just another place that wants to take my money and doesn't care too much for my satisfaction as a customer.
