I'm really sold on this place. I've gotten 10 or so orders from them, and with one exception the plants arrived healthy and happy - MUCH better and healthier plants than from a local nursery. And much more interesting plants. The one exception was due to heat during transport (not their fault), but even in that case, the folks at GrowJoy were super nice about crediting me for all the plants once it became clear they were not going to bounce back. I don't know how they create such healthy robust plants, but they do. And the packaging is great. All plants were still moist when they arrived, with no stems broken. One piece of advice - the FedEx shipping cost is significant, so it's good to try to gather a bunch of plants into one order. read more

Cannot contact business when there is an issue with the order. There is no phone number to contact and the phone number on the shipping label is NOT a valid number. You have to submit a form online and wait 3-5 business days for a response. I'm still waiting btw. I received the wrong plants but still waiting to hear from the business to know what to do with them. Will not purchase from this business again. read more

Do not do business with this company. I ordered five plants, of which only three were shipped. The notice thrown in with the plants advised I would be getting merchant credit. When I checked my account, there was no merchant credit given. Although I tried to contact them multiple times through the "Contact Us" form, they never responded. I also tried to find a working phone number. There is none. Perhaps this is deliberate on their part. The three plants I received were small cuttings, which despite following the directions provided, never thrived and never bloomed. Simply replace my own dates and order details with your own details. I placed an internet order on the website GrowJoy.com (seller) on May 10th, 2021 for three heirloom pepper plants and one heirloom tomato plant. My credit card was immediately charged $34.99 for a total of $25.00 for the order and an additional $9.99 for the shipping costs. The payment was processed via Amazon Pay. I was provided with order number 490300 and order code VCU0252474312. The confirmation email stated seller would provide tracking numbers and expected to ship my order the week of May 30th, 2021. I received no tracking information the week of May 30th and the order was not updated to reflect that it shipped. Based on the reasonable expectation that I would receive my order from seller, I spent $260.00 on supplies necessary to prepare to care for the plants, including new soil, soil amendments, mulch, fertilizers, foliar sprays, and a gravity-fed drip irrigation system. On May 9th, 2021 I called the seller at the phone number provided on the website Growjoy.com and encountered a recording stating that all customer service representatives were busy, the voice mailbox was disabled, and to email Growjoy or send a message via the websites Contact Us feature. I sent a message to the seller over the Contact Us feature of Growjoy.com on May 9th, 2021 to inquire about the status of my order. I received no response. It is now June 10th, 2021, 30 days after the order was placed. The Federal Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Trade Regulation Rule 16 CFR § 435 was amended in 2014 to include internet orders. The law requires stores to ship telephone, mail, fax, & internet orders within 30 days. If the merchant promises an earlier shipment date, it must meet that deadline. If the seller doesn't ship within the reasonably expected time of the date provided, seller must contact the consumer to authorize a new shipping date or refund the order in it's entirety. Since seller gave a conspicuous shipping date of the week of May 30th and it is now 30 days since the order was placed, and seller has made no effort to respond to calls or messages, nor attempted to contact me to authorize a new shipping date or a full refund, I find seller is in violation of 16 CFR § 435. Seller should be subject to FTC penalties for unfair and deceptive internet sales practices and disregarding consumer rights to fair practices. Numerous customers have voiced similar experiences in reviews online for orders placed with the seller. Seller responded to review complaints stating he is in the process of opening a store in Alabama and was delayed by COVID and lacked staff to fulfill orders and contact customers. There is no notice on the website informing customers of potential delays and the website is still actively processing orders, deceiving and defrauding consumers. Seller was able to find the time to reasonably respond to bad internet reviews but has ignored customers efforts to contact him regarding their unreasonably late. Seller has also made no effort to halt the processing and acceptance of payments for promised orders that he has publicly acknowledged he is not able to reasonably fulfill. read more

I was looking for something different for my front porch and needed something full sun and hardy to drought areas. Grow Joy came through! I purchased 3 Lotus Vine Plants (Parrots Beak) from them and they did not disappoint. The shipping was delayed, but in these times that's to be expected. The package arrived perfectly packaged and my plants were taken care of. I planted them immediately and they've flourished over the past 6 months. I will buy from Grow Joy again when we build our new flower boxes. I would recommend Grow Joy to my friends. read more

So far a pretty bad experience with GrowJoy... maybe the plants will come eventually, but the customer service is abysmal and if I don't get some feedback soon I will not be ordering from them again... they can fix this by getting me my plants ASAP AND calling me back or responding to my messages... but unless they do soon ... All of the plants we've ordered from GrowJoy have arrived in great shape and are doing well in our yard and in large pots - particularly the hot pepper plants. We'll soon be harvesting some of those! We've also ordered sun-loving impatiens and hardy hibiscus as well as lantana, a white lace plant, ice plant, and shrub roses. The plants are extremely well-packed for shipping and none have been damaged in transit. We'll continue to order from GrowJoy! read more

I ordered seeds and a hibiscus December 1, 2020. They were to be delivered in the spring. Nothing. So I contacted the company three times with no response. I called again today and now there is no voicemail on their phone. I understand things happen, with COVID and all, but when a company chooses not to address their customers, there is only one assumption a customer can make... they are not ethical. Period. Should have read the reviews BEFORE I placed an order! I ordered 8 tomato plants in March to be delivered in early May. I began receiving emails saying the delivery was delayed ... again and again. On 5/27/2021 at 3:42 PM I sent a email and told them to cancel the order. I received at reply the same day at 6:25 PM saying the order had shipped and they could not cancel the order. Was told it was sent via 2-day delivery. The plants arrived FIVE days later and 5 of the 8 plants were DEAD. I emailed on 6/7/2021 requesting a refund. Today is 6/18/2021 and NO RESPONSE to my refund request. One can't even call this "customer service"! Take the word of the DISSATISFIED customers here and spend your money elsewhere! Left a message last night, Wednesday, and just got an email that it will ship in a week or two.Their voicemail is full!! Guess they only take care of new orders and are growing my plants from a new sowing! As growing season in the tri-state is in Memorial Day I'll miss that and maybe will get my veggies before July 4th. No information was EVER sent concerning a shipping delay. For any gardener that wants to order plants online, this is the company to go to. I have been a customer for a couple of years and have always had a great experience. The annual flower and organic vegetable plants that I have ordered arrived in great condition, carefully packaged, too. In fact, I am very impressed with their packaging, never seen another company take such care to ensure the customer gets their plants in good, healthy condition. Their customer service is top-notch, very fast to respond, and always will go out of their way to help their customers. It is also hard to even find organic vegetable plants online or in the stores, but they have a huge selection of plants to choose from. I ordered a small order on March 3, 2021. Originally it was to be delivered the week of May 15. Then on the 20th I was sent an email with 5 dates it could be delivered on. On May 26 I called to find out when my 10 plants will be delivered. No set date. I was told maybe next week. They said they are behind 10-12 days. They are behind more than that. If they knew they were behind why did they keep sending texts and emails trying to sell more and more? I'm going local or using the company I used last year. First off when I ordered I could've swore they said mid March for delivery date in Illinois but when I checked back in mid March it wasn't until May 7 and I plant my plants the second week in April so I have them in the ground for three weeks, before they even shipped them. I was excited to be able to order some hard to get plants. However, weeks later, I've been told that they are still growing the plants - so basically I paid them to plant seeds for me. They don't have a phone - they ask to have you contact online or email. I've emailed 4 times without a response. I sent several texts - responding to their spam offers - and I got the response that my plants would be sent "next week". That was three weeks ago. I have sent them emails and texts to get a refund but they haven't responded. My next choice is to go to Better Business or contact PayPal to see if they can help. Just really disappointing. Don't waste your money. UPDATE - another time I could kick myself for forgetting to read YELP before ordering something. Had I read the recent reviews - many sharing very similar experiences - I would have never wasted my time. Update #2 - Growjoy did refund my purchase. Do not order plants from this company. They do not have it together and should not be advertising that they have the capabilities to grow and ship plants nationwide. Last year the hundreds of dollars of plants I ordered arrived too late -- it was already too hot and the plants did not survive. This year, they were supposed to have the perrenials shipped by May 9 (which is still too late for coastal Massachusetts) but now they just informed me that it will be one month later on June 12. Just got my summer vegetable plants... all but 1 arrived in great shape... the single exception was a Merlot sweet pepper plant that was wilted... This company is a scam. I ordered in March with a May delivery date. They didn't ship on time. Then shipped late and shipped the wrong plants and I have not gotten any response to my repeated emails and opening of a PayPal case and it's been over a week. They are still taking orders for the plants I ordered and I would bet they're taking peoples money even though they do not have the plants. If they had plants there wouldn't be a million reviews all over the internet about people not getting their plants or half dead plants. Stuff happens. But it would take them a second to refund my money through PayPal, so I could just go out and buy new plants locally. They're clearly holding customers money for keeping their cash flow up to support their new location or bills they need to pay. It's dishonest. If they were a decent business they'd stop taking orders for a few days to catch up with customer service or open orders. This is a scam. read more

Not good at all a promise of May 24 2021 for delivery for 6 healthy tomat plants and arrived on June 17 yellow and in extremely poor condition. I have learned my lesson and will stick to growing my own plants. What a waist of 50.00. I live in a short growing season and these tomatoe plants will not produce in time even if healthI and could plant them. Plants shipped over a month late. As these weren't plants dependent on a specific planting season not a big deal. The fact that were opening a second location being the cause of a delay also grants them a bit of grace. The things that earned them the low rating was the wholly inadequate packing the plants were shipped in. We are currently nursing one of the plants back to health because it got crushed in transit. Then, after waiting over a month, being shipped the wrong plants is entirely unacceptable. My wife emailed about a replacement/refund for the damaged plant and for the missing fuchsia we ordered. It's been over a week and still no reply to either of the emails she sent. This seems like a great idea if executed properly, but for me it wasn't. read more

Very slow shipping, poor plants, incomplete order. The website promised that the shipping would be 2/28 but the order was not shipped until a month later. In addition one of the items was not sent at all (The one I was most anxious for, of course!) My account says it was shipped. The plants were yellow with rotting leaves. They claim construction Issues but it makes little sense to expand by trashing existing customers. I could have got better plants on the discount table. Never again!! read more

BUYER BEWARE!I ordered $71 (after 15% discount) from this online nursery, aware that shipping wouldn't occur for nearly a month. When I received the plants, some were dead and eaten with bugs and two simply were not included in the shipment. No explanation, no notice of refund. I emailed them immediately as per their "customer service" instructions with pictures and request for refund for missing and dead plants, but to no avail. Emailed them again a week later (before the 10 day deadline to report) after attempting to call the phone number without success. Still haven't heard from them. I finally disputed the charge on my credit card. I also left a one-star review on their website under three of these items, and they don't appear.
