I loved the flower shop and promised myself I would return... took months due to covid but glad I came by. It's more than just a flower shop, although they do sell flowers and make arrangements. But, while in there I found a number of little pieces of home decor that I brought home... two pieces because it had a spiritual significance to me. During the early morning hours of the day I went to the flower shop, I got up from bed because I was thirsty. It was still dark out and I walked from my bedroom towards the kitchen. Several of my plants and trees in my backyard are lighted and I saw this beautiful cardinal perched on one of the trees. I am from Florida so I had never seen a Cardinal before. Beautiful bird. Later that morning, I was telling my mother about it and all of a sudden the cardinal flew into one of the windows. It was ok and flew away but certainly it was startling. I then went to this flower shop and I noticed a little statuette of an angel holding a cardinal and it said: When a cardinal appears in your yard, it is a visitor from heaven. I was shocked. Next to it was another angel statuette of an angel holding a butterfly and it said Butterflies are the heaven sent kisses of an angel. When I was young, my little sister died. It hurt a lot and I remember I was told... perhaps as a way to comfort me that if I ever saw a butterfly... it was my sister visiting me. Ever since then, I have had a connection to them and they always catch my sight. I may have grown up, and I may understand that butterflies are just an insect... a beautiful one but an insect. Nevertheless, I still carry that idea/fantasy close to my heart. Seeing those two together, made me want to buy them. Maybe I am deluding myself, but I felt the need to buy them. The store has lots of other decor for gardens and such... including beautiful wind chimes which I also purchased. I love wind chimes! Beautiful store, can't say anything about the flowers because I haven't bought any, but this store is definitely worth a look!

You can find home and garden decor, coffee, baked goods, jewelry, clothing, hand made soaps, gifts and even live bait. I guess you can say its a one stop shop. I thought the sun-catchers they had for sale were very beautiful. I got some of the hand made soap they had as it smelled great. I cannot say anything about their massage services, as I did not try it. Its a cute store with an eclectic assortment of items that is definitely worth a look.

The place is made up of many booths with merchandise from local people - a lot of handcrafted items that you will not find at someplace like Walmart. They're conveniently located on South Shannon Street in the plaza right behind McDonalds. They even have a massage therapist available, so you can get a massage - I do think you have to schedule an appointment for that though.

As Audrey Hepburn once said, ""To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." Every time I move somewhere, I plant... I plant a tree... I plant flowers. It's my way to show hope that one day I will find a place I can really call home... find a place I can plant my own roots into. Anyway, I digress... Laurie's has an extensive selection of items... it has plants and tree for sale... as well as outdoor decor like wind chimes, planters, outdoor thermometers, etc. It also sells other sundry items for sale including candles, barbecue sauces, margarita mixes and other items made naturally. Pretty cool! Unfortunately, it seems due to covid everyone else also had the idea of fixing up their garden so I was told their usual extensive selection had been greatly decreased. They were helpful enough to order some red planters that I wanted for my backyard and garden. I would have to unfortunately find plants somewhere else because they didn't have many left unsold but I certainly appreciated their help. The planters were beautiful! I will definitely come back from time to time as It will be well into next year until I get my backyard the way I want it. Wonderful place! Also, I love their cat they have on premises... such a sweet and friendly cat! The place also has a goat which I think is fun.

Fall Mums and Pumpkin Festival was a great time for 3 adults and 3 kids. Held only one month a…read moreyear, weekends in October, the Lincoln Ridge farm was very entertaining for 3 girls, ages 2, 5 and 7 along with adults who wanted a simple day trip. The petting zoo was simple but enthralling for the 5 and 7 year old, who spent many spare moments running back to it. Good cider, inexpensive pumpkin pie slices for $1.25, and caramel apples were terrific. The staff were all very polite and friendly. We did the pedal race cars, The Hoot Mobiles, a dozen times. The kids cheered with each launched pumpkin, or spent ten minutes rolling oversized pumpkins around or jumping on the mountain of hay. The 7 year old loved the riddles that were part of the corn maze. I don't have time to tell about the hay ride, barrel ride, haunted forest, candle dipping, games, just a lot of milling about aimlessly without agenda, resting in bales of hay, and coming back to those Hoot mobiles. We were there 5 hours and spent about $60-70 total. A bargain and a perfect fall day.

Our sales person was evidently the owner. She was most friendly & helpful. We exchanged stories about how we used some of the kitchen gadgets that were Antique and some that were very current. Pricing looked very acceptable. We particularly liked the are three manufacturers of stainless steel kitchen bowls. All of these were made for the home cook who starts with produce from scratch and preserves for cooks the same. We will be back here. I need to have a set of stainless steel and rimmed kitchen bowls.

If you are having anything framed it is worth the drive, the money you save on the framing, will more than pay for your lunch and maybe a mocha late too. I have had several pieces of art framed and one special, oddly framed piece, (on a 45 degree angle) and the project was done professionally and beautifully done. The gentleman that does the framing takes great pride in the quality of his work. Usually you would pay top dollar for this quality, but it so reasonably priced, I was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill. This is a real find, if you like coffee, this place is great! I find it hard to believe this restaurant is in such a small town like this. The food is of the highest quality and the attached coffee cafe is as close to a Coffee Barrister you are going to get in the Midwest. The main cafe person is very, very well versed in coffee and beans and quality. I have traveled all over the country and some in Europe and this guy knows his stuff. If you are a coffee house fan, I don't think you will be disappointed. In fact I think you need to make this small cafe a stop if you are a coffee snob. The deserts available are all made from scratch on location, I have eaten there many times and the deserts are always worth the trip alone, Add a Mocha with it and you'll have a worthy sugar rush. Of course you can get everything coffee made without sugar and skinny if you like. Did I happen to mention they make 90% of their food from scratch? If you have not figured it out, I highly recommend this small, out of the way, quite place. If you don't know where to look for the place, it is in the same building as the small post office, a barber shop and beauty shop. Just across the street from the bank.
