We worked with Paulo and his team on a major renovation to our backyard. After several design iterations back and forth, we settled on a 50x20 pool, with an integrated sundeck, significant hardscaping including a large marble patio, custom built outdoor kitchen, and firepit. He also installed sod throughout, new sprinkler system, new lighting, fencing, and did all the landscaping and tree design. It came out absolutely incredible! Working with Paulo was such a pleasure. His demeanor is calm, cool, and collected. He's incredibly professional, stands behind his work, doesn't nickel and dime you, and if there are missteps he owns it and most importantly fixes it immediately. We have recommended Grow Landscapes and Paulo to countless people and will continue to do so! We have lived with the new backyard for a little over a year now and the quality is outstanding! Grow Landscapes is phenomenal in every aspect of their business, from the quality of their work in multiple disciplines, to managing multiple subcontractors for a wide range of trades, and always delivering incredible customer service. Paulo and team created a custom pool, stone patio, retaining wall and landscaping for us. I wish I could give 0 stars. I was asked about my budget during my initial call to set an estimate. She must not have liked my answer since the follow-up was, well, you don't have enough money for one of our pools. I said you didn't ask how much money I have. You asked for my budget. She then stated that their pools start at 110K, so if I were unwilling to pay that, they wouldn't be able to give me an estimate. read more

they came highly recommended, but it didn't work for me. They were late providing me with estimates for various projects and when they finally send me one estimate, it was extremely overpriced. I am sure that others may have better luck with them; it just didn't work with us read more

We didn't have the best experience and wouldn't recommend them or hire them again. Good: - nice designs - very professional/clean trucks Bad: - they accidentaly sprayed and killed some vine under a large burning bush when spraying the weeds in the old beds. It took weeks to get them to come and pull out the dead vines and mulch the barren area. Now, the large burning bush has dropped all of it's leaves and it's likely that the same chemical they used to kill the vine killed the burning bush too (did I mention that this bush is 30+ years old!) - came to install plants and told me "we have a problem" at least 5 of the types of plants are not available. I would expect that they would call their nurseries or order the plants in advance of the installation. So we had to juggle and install things that weren't on the plan. This was probably the most frustrating part of the process. - getting them to come back and replace the plants that died took weeks if not months. Actually, they installed the landscape in May and it's September now and we still have several grasses that need to be replaced. - they picked the smallest plants (sure they were in the proper size pots, but they were the smallest samples) - we had the hardest time getting in touch with the owner/foreman - they'd come by announced. Several times we found the workers in the yard with no prior notice. read more

I called and set up an appointment. Two days before the appointment, the company called to reschedule. I had conflicts and we kept the same day just at a later time. On that day, no one showed up. No one has called to reschedule. Guess they don't want my business or a good recommendation. Very unprofessional and wasted my time. read more

I have been using Grow Landscapes for many years. They did an amazing job at installing the patio. They spend a lot of time on hardscape design and layout., the design was consistent with the house, but creative. The walkway, patio and stairs flow very well. Details were done with great care. The work force did a great job at clean up. They are thorough, and well trained. I have a heavily planted garden and the workers did everything to insure that the shurbs being moved for the installation were given the best opportunity of survival. They have been back several times for routine garden clean up and do a great job. With so many varieties of plants in the yard they take great care not to remove perennials, jus the weeds. At my request they used limited chemicals due to my pet. Overall a great job. I would recommend them again and again. read more

I received outstanding service and products from Paulo and his team at Grow Landscapes! I'm surprised to find a negative review at the bottom of the Yelp* review page, since my experience was exactly the opposite. Although my single family home has a relatively small yard, Paulo designed and managed an extensive redo of the landscaping; including coordinating the efforts of three other companies providing irrigation, deck building, and electrical services. Paulo was always on site when he needed to be to oversee the efforts of his crew. The crews themselves were some of the hardest--and speediest--workers I have encountered. Believe me, I've had plenty of poor service providers in the DC area before, but Grow landscapes isn't one of them. I am also getting year round maintenance from Grow, and look forward to continued excellence. read more
