We work with master gardeners and designers so we don't generally hire LJ for landscaping. The total paid to LJ including labor and supplies was approx $30,000. Many of the projects were completed to our delight, some to our satisfaction, and most recently we noticed a slip in quality. Overall we recommend LJ. And would suggest Ro anyone engaging them to walk everything down - grading, elevation, proper footing, dimensions, methods TWICE. Go over everything twice. Make sure you are on the same page and that the final intended put-through end result is CLEAR. What they did: 1) retaining walls - mortared w flagstone (6) 2) retaining wall - dry stack w shale (1) 3) added stairs to existing wall (3) 4) flagstone walkway (4) 5) convert lawn to river rock bed (1) 6) add shale surfacing to compressor slab (2) 7) install compressor slab to protect/land HVAC and split compressors 8) weed, edge, mulch large garden bed (1) 9) install flagstone landings (3) 10) source, deliver and place large boulders (one pallet)

He talked through any prior water retention issues I had, and came up with a plan to future proof our house from any flooding that could happen with big storms. The crew were back out within a few days and executed the plan as Cliff specified. The laborers placed one of the pop-ups a little too close to the house, and without any intervention, the day-of-supervisor spoke with me to let me know they would extend it according to plan, and corrected everything. They also replaced my sump pump, which was not the easiest thing due to a seized grate closure (see pics), and at a fraction of the price quoted by plumbers. I was really impressed with how quick everything was completed, and for a job like this (digging long trenches to run PVC), my yard looks nearly immaculate. They gave me instructions to heal the grass patches so my lawn would look as it did before in no time. After the work was done, Cliff reached out to make sure all was working well when it rained. My sump pump discharged a significant amount of water, which created ice on the street during the winter and damaged my lawn. I also asked them to address a small uneven area around my sprinkler system. The team explained that they would regrade the area, use my existing soil, and plant grass seed, which I was completely comfortable with. They completed the entire project in just one day. At the end of the day, they sent photos of the finished work to the owner. Although I thought everything looked great, the owner wasn't satisfied with the appearance of the hay covering the newly seeded area. Even though installing sod was outside the original scope of work and would have been a much more expensive solution, he decided to go above and beyond. The very next day, he sent his crew back with fresh topsoil and sod at no additional cost. They added topsoil around my home to improve the grading and ensure water would drain away from the foundation. They even moved my stacked firewood, added topsoil underneath it, and carefully put everything back in place. When they finished, they watered all of the new sod, adjusted my sprinkler heads to ensure proper coverage, and thoroughly cleaned up the work area. My yard honestly looks better now than it did before they started. Premium Drainage was not the cheapest quote I received, but they were also not the most expensive. What set them apart was their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to doing the job right. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for drainage work or landscaping improvements.

There was a princess tree or something of that nature that sprouted up last year and needed to go as it was getting out of control, my wife wanted weeds removed, washed rocks, and peonies in front. In the back we also finally decided to finish our walkway with flagstone.
