This review is as much about the new location as it is the business itself. I absolutely love their new shop. It's spacious and organized, and easily accessible from the 67 and 52 freeways. A little extra space goes a long way. Lemon Grove Cycle Supply is well stocked and well equipped. I know they have all the the tools to do the job right. I can't say that about every shop I've been to. Unlike the dealership and many independent shops, Lemon Grove Cycle Supply doesn't charge an arm and a leg because "they can"... LGCS is extremely competitive. It's only fair to make a little money on parts and consumables, but they don't go overboard. Labor charges are very reasonable as well. For the same price that the dealership wanted to charge me to replace just the rear tire, I had both tires replaced at LGCS. They were the same tires, too - Dunlop Elite 3. Best cruiser/standard tires ever, by the way. Perhaps most importantly, though, is the honesty and knowledge of my ride. I have a Sportster, and so does the owner of LGCS. In fact, we have the same model year bike. If I'm having an issue or a question needing an answer, I get a straightforward yet detailed answer right away. I appreciate going to a shop where they know my bike and don't have to look something up in a parts manual. I almost look forward to when my motorcycle needs some service, as an excuse t drop by Lemon Grove Cycle Supply and pick some brains on the best course of action. read more

Not really anything to put in detail, but I just needed to get my review on. The Good: Nice folks, family run. Everyone I've talked to seems to be pretty knowledgeable and helpful. Some useful things on the shelves for routine stuff (oil, filters, etc.). Parts ordering is fast, stuff is usually there the next day and they CALL YOU WHEN ITS IN!!! Not the next day, not 30 seconds before they close, but a reasonable time! The Bad: Not a whole lot of variety to pick from on the shelves. One type of chain lube, one type of wheel grease, one brand of engine oil. I realize I'm not walking into Autozone or anything, but you could add a shelf or two and fill the place out. Seems a little pricey. I'll be back. Maybe not for everything I need, but I'll throw them some regular business. Mom & pop gotta make a living, too. read more

I took my 2006 Harley dyna to ther shop because it was losing power .he told me that he would fix the motorcycle. I went back four days later and he told me that the regulator in the fuel pump was not installed properly.and that a screw on the seat was missing.he charged me 460$.I took my bike out and drove five miles and the bike did the same thing.lost power I took it back and he wanted more money to fix it .I took my bike out of his shop.and left .the next day I went back and asked him for a refund and he refused.ther was also another gentleman ther for the same reason.he told us both to get out of his shop. Do not go to this place they know nothing about harleys.the worst part is the owner the secretary and mechanic laughd at us in our faces. read more

I took the 2005 HD Ultra Classic to Chris replace the seals. He had the Harley for days. He called and said it was ready to be picked up. So I picked it up and drove it home. The next day I drove it to work. Before leaving work, I checked and noticed a slight oil leak. I drove it home. Checked it again and there was a slight leak. I called Chris and told him that there was a slight leak. He told me to bring it in and he would check it. While I was there i told him to take it for a test ride to check it out. I left the Harley at the shop. Chris said he would call and let me know when it was ready. About 3 days later he called and said it was ready to pickup. I got to the shop and ask him what was going on. He told me that the Harley had been sitting the 3 days and there was no leak which was true. The Harley was never taken out for a test ride like I ask him too. Before I left he told me if the the leak started again, to bring it back and he would recheck it. That was the last time I took the Harley back to Grove Cycle. The Harley has been leaking ever since. Going on 6 months and the oil leak has gotten worse. It now sits until I can afford take it where they can fix it right. Anybody who know that when it comes to replacing seals, it don't come cheap. I lost my faith on Grove Cycle on any future repairs. If the work had been right the first time, the oil leak would cease to exsist and I would not be posting this review. I regret not taking it to Harley Davidson for this repair. read more

Bad service. I took my bike there after I hadn't been riding in months and was scolded by a mechanic. I did not ride because I was recovering from a car accident. I've taken my bike there twice on a tow truck and each time it came back in worst shape. The second time I road it home it was fine until the day. it stopped running completely. It is still not running, it's been months. I haven't been back. They even charged me for labor on a part that was damaged in the shop. I haven't spoke to them because I've been too upset. I spent lots of money in their shop, on new tires and work. read more

Laura has a nice laid back style I miss when it comes to Customer Service. I made an appointment to have a tire leak fixed and the Tech looked over the bike to make sure there were no other issues. Asked if I needed anything else while it was on the rack and I had them replace my grips. While they did that he also took care of a sticky throttle cable too! I really had to think hard about writing this, because I've known Chris and Laura ever since they bought the shop from the previous owner. I've done business with them for years, but ever since they moved....actually just before too, I've had bad experiences. Before they moved, I had a rack installed and Chris installed it improperly. He didn't charge me, but since he was about to close, I had to rush home and do it myself, just before a long ride. The kicker started out like this, I called and made an appointment and they didn't tell me they moved to Santee...no big deal, but I rescheduled because of the distance to their new place and I live in Lemon Grove and was going to walk home. I made the second appointment and when I got there, Chris told me he couldn't work on it, he was too busy. Again, not too big of a deal, but what must have happened is, I made the appointment with Laura, and I guess Chris didn't get the word.....or something?? Finally, I made another appointment and Chris gave me an estimate to check all of the major nuts and bolts before a long trip. He told me it would take around a half hour and it would cost about $40, so I thought to myself that was pretty reasonable and if it cost $50-60, I would be okay with it......but try $90!! I left the bike at the shop and told them I would wait around for it. I walked around and came back approx. an hour later and when I was about a block away, I noticed Chris was blowing off my air filter with the air hose, NOT what I asked him to do. I have a K&N filter and anyone that knows anything, knows you don't use compressed air and also not to direct the spray from outside to the inside. Compressed air will damage the fibers in the filter and you are supposed to use a low flow hose with water and reverse flow it (from the inside out) to flush out the dirt and let it air dry. The instructions specifically say NOT to dry it with an air hose! Not only did he do that wrong, he also over oiled it, so on my trip, it spit oil out all along the side of my Road King for over 3000 miles! The same thing happened to me years ago when I oiled my first K&N on my other bike and used the bottle of oil that came with the filter kit. FYI, buy and use the K&N spray (not the bottle of oil in the older kits) because it goes on more evenly and if you don't over do it, it won't drip.....as it will, for months and months and thousands of miles! The hour I was gone, I guess Chris just kept doing work on my bike until I returned, because he also adjusted the clutch, on top of cleaning the air filter, and charged me the $90. IF, I asked him to do those things, I wouldn't have a problem with the much higher bill, but he did work that he wasn't supposed to, charged me for it and didn't do it right!! I thought about writing this just after it happened, but I decided not to...mainly because I do like Chris and Laura and we have known each other for many years. But, when I noticed the dust boot for the clutch adjuster was torn to shreds yesterday, that did it! By itself, it's not a big deal, but that too shouldn't have happened, or at least should have been address when I came back to the shop that day. I can't understand what happened to Chris, but it doesn't matter, because I won't be going back. read more
