I'm so glad Long Island finally got a Wegmans. When they first opened I thought their prices were…read morereally high but then I notice the Hot Zone Prices was really good deals. When you walk into the store there is a sign of items and prices and they compare them to some of the other markets in the area which is always good to see. Another plus is that they are open till Midnight and it's close to home. A year later and I'm obsessed with this super market. It's very clean and the customer service is always amazing. My son loves coming here to watch the lobsters. The seafood department always comes out with a Wegmans hat to give him and let him touch a lobster. The deli department is always nice. I love the meats from the meat section and the butcher. I love the organic everything they have it's always fresh and reasonable. The Bakery department is my other favorite part of the store. I never tried any of their cooked food. Except the sushi station. No complaints there. I tried many of their store bands and so far so good, except the cheese. It doesn't melt for some reason. I never had any issues at any of the department. From ordering Groceries from the app to looking for coupons, the app is great at navigating it all. There are a few brands that Wegmans does not sell so sometimes I still have to branch out to another market. But for our main supermarket Wegmans is it.

The local restaurant was closed on a day the web said it was open, so I took the 20 minute walk east to Ocean Beach and easily found the store. Don't bother with the $$$ water taxi, or the super sandy mid-road (with mini-ponds to go through after rain!) It is a lovely walk on the beach. Fruits, snacks, drinks and a really friendly staff made my lunch hunt easy. I was not immediately interested in the deli, but that was more about not wanting to carry a sandwich around on a hot day. *Tip: I would bring a plastic bag. My paper bag tore on the way back and seagulls snagged some of my snacks

Stopped in for lunch before heading to the beach and ordered for the 3 of us: a chicken sandwich, Seaview grilled cheese sandwich, pickle, macaroni salad, and antipasto salad. Sandwiches were ok, not great, Mac salad was pretty bland, antipasto salad was way too salty. Pickle was the best part of the lunch. The açaí bowls looked popular, though. No seating available, but we walked down to the bay, took a right, and ate on a bench overlooking the bay.

I have been living in this town for years and I choose to go to the IGA in Amagansett due to the…read morelack of options and quality of produce compared to Amagansett IGA even though that location is not the best either. Living in such a wealthy area on Long Island you would think our grocery stores would be top of the line. That is farthest from the truth. I have been to better grocery stores in much lower income neighborhoods than the ones we have in the Hamptons. I particularly had enough tonight and could not keep this bottled up. I had a late night craving for the white cheddar Cheetos puffs. Every grocery store but the one in my town carries them. I don't ever eat junk food, but I had a desperate craving tonight. They have let me down. I hate that there is mostly self check out now. It is cold and soulless compared to the relationships you build with the people in front of you. My family and I miss the old staff... they were wonderful. Do better Montauk IGA. Bring back normal checkouts instead of this computer BS. Two self check outs stations were enough. Do better on the inventory.

Title: The Human Raincloud of the Montauk IGA…read more I've been shopping at the Montauk IGA for years and can say, without hesitation, that it's usually a shining example of small-town warmth and friendliness. The staff is famously helpful, cheerful, and welcoming -- which is why encountering Dayanara at the checkout feels like suddenly stepping into a thunderstorm in the middle of a sunny day. It's as if her job description reads: "Scowl, sigh heavily, and make customers question all their life choices." She manages to inject rudeness into the most basic exchanges, going out of her way to be curt, unhelpful, and generally unpleasant. If Montauk ever needed a mascot for passive-aggressive hostility, she'd be overqualified. This isn't a case of someone having a bad day -- this is a professional commitment to being a human sandpaper strip. The contrast with the rest of the staff is so stark it's almost performance art. For the sake of the store's otherwise stellar reputation, she should be moved into a role that doesn't involve live humans. Stock room. Night shift. Mars. Anywhere but the checkout lane. IGA Montauk, keep doing what you do best -- just maybe reassign your resident mood assassin before she convinces visitors that "Montauk charm" is a myth.
