The place was crowded (later learned there was an American football game in town with 30,000 fans from Georgia Tech and Florida State; in future I would avoid visiting Dublin during this time!) Foley's offers typical pub food in a casual sports bar atmosphere. My chicken tenders were nicely spiced and meaty, although the accompanying fries were kind of bland. Fish and chips were good too. Service was slow but that's to be expected on a crowded evening. We were surprised to see the check in $USD (no choice of currency offered) rather than in Euros (the coin of the realm), with a 8.75% "exchange rate markup fee" tacked on to the total. We weren't given a choice of currency as stated on the bill (see picture). I've never seen this done elsewhere, seems like a petty way to make a bit of extra money from unsuspecting tourists. We were tired and the place was crowded so we paid and left without comment. But that unwarranted currency fee didn't leave a good taste in our mouths at all.

The menu is small but would have enough for most appetites. They do offer an all day Gorgonzola and bread appetizer which, if we were going to spend time drinking, I would have ordered. Atmosphere was very loud with plenty of bar noise (dishes, silverware, and glassware being knocked about) which sometimes made it difficult to hold a conversation.
