Yelp paid off again! I searched for a salon close to my mom's house, and yelp pointed me to Salon…read moreFusion H2O, and I'm happy it did. Let me start with one of my favorite things - someone still answers the phone and does the scheduling!!! I'm so tired of places that won't pay for someone to be at the desk, and expect you to contact your stylist personally and play a text game for an appt. Thank you for answering the phone, having a salon wide scheduling system, greeting me when I walked in, and having a regular billing system instead of the stylist having a square! Next, it's clean, bright, and appealing inside. And everyone is friendly. They offer water, coffee or tea. But most important, I love my cut by Dayle! I frequently go from long to pixie short and back to long again, and she didn't bat an eye at cutting off all my length. So many stylists are afraid to do that. Dayle studied my pic, asked me questions, and dove right in! The price is great too - $44 for this particular stylist. And they have easy parking. A great experience all around. I'll Be back!

She gave me an awesome clarifying shampoo with a mesmerizing neck massage that put me in the zone. Everyone at the salon was super nice. The salon itself was very clean. I will definitely be coming back to see Dayle. The salon is awesome.

Janice from Village Salon & Spa called me to see if I was willing to give them a chance to rectify…read moremy hair. I really appreciate them reaching out through phone and also via Yelp! It means that they care about their clients and really do want to put out the best results possible. Janice scheduled an appointment with one of their top tier hairstylist, Karen. Needless to say, I was apprehensive about a second time there but I also know that you have to give second chances when someone wants to make something right. I arrived for my appointment and waited for 20 minutes. It was worth the wait because Karen did an amazing job! She toned the color way down for me. Watching her skilled hands adeptly layer my front frames brought so much joy, I'll tell you. Nothing, nothing beats a bomb cut. She blended and evened it all out. I am so thankful! I have an appointment scheduled with her to get my hair colored and will continue to post updates. I wish I had her the FIRST time! Thanks for reading!

This is a strange review, as it has to do with my appointment booking experience...I never made it…read moreto the salon, as they called me back and cancelled my appointment. I recently moved here, from Montgomery County, Maryland. I am used to a higher level of work ethic and customer service. I come from a competitive business environment, where retention of a customer is what builds your business. I haven't found a hairdresser yet, and I thought I would try this place I made an appointment at Village Salon and Spa with Layla for a two process color, highlights and low lights, or ballyage, whichever they would recommend once they looked at my hair. I have low lights and highlights resulting in a dimensional look that has a lot of contrast and is a warm honey blonde with a chestnut brown. its very pretty and the same look frequently found in magazines. I do not allow toners on my hair, as they cover up the contrast and make everything look monotone. Since this is a new salon for me, I emphasized to the receptionist, that I was not getting a toner. 5 minutes or less after I made the appointment, Layla, the hairdresser, calls me back and told me in no uncertain terms, that she and everyone else at Village Salon and Spa, uses toners. I said it wasn't necessary, all she needed to do, was time the foils, watching them as they lighten, and then rinsing the bleach off as the proper shade is reached. A nice warm gold with no toners...No worries about the toner that will wash out after several shampoos, and much healthier than snapping the hair off because it was so damaged by being over bleached under a heat lamp. Layla insisted that she would be using a toner and said that they always let the bleach lift to a lighter shade, then use the toner to do the actual color job. Layla proceeded to tell me in a very firm tone, that no one there would do my hair that way, and that I should go somewhere else to get my hair colored. Layla was not interested in satisfying me, and was adamant that the appointment be cancelled. If I was the owner of the salon, I would be mortified. I would also send that hair dresser back to training, so she could learn how to make a repeat customer by LISTENING and giving the customer what they like. It is after all, about the customer and repeat business, not about how a particular colorist wants to schedule her day. I know I am not alone, when I say I am so tired of paying hundreds of dollars at one of these local hair salons in Lewes, Ocean View and Rehoboth areas and hating my hair when I leave. As a follow up, I went to a salon in Gaithersburg, Maryland as I was in Maryland for a workshop, and they did a fabulous job, using the very technique that I sited....spending a little care to watch the bleach as it develops, and simply remove it when the correct shade has been reached. Newbies to this area should know that Layla at Village Salon and Spa came off as rude and off putting. Clearly not interested in building her clientele. I also would have expected a call from the owner or manager, but that never happened. I guess I should consider myself lucky.... her cancellation of my appointment probably saved me a lot of heart ache, and definitely a lot off wasted money. It's just too bad that there aren't sophisticated colorists in this area. After trying no less than 5 salons in the area, my advice: plan a trip to DC, it is only 2 1/2 hours away, and go to a salon that knows how to provide a service to a client willing to pay the price, just not willing to settle for the bleached out fried out blonde I see everywhere around here!
