I was horrified at what this so-called salon did to me. I went in asking for highlights, and came out with orange hair with no highlights. It was so horrible I had to have it re-done by someone else a few days later. Be forewarned: Karma has responded to my demand for a $165 refund by ignoring my letter, and then when I finally got to speak with the owner today, she shouted over me trying to get a word in and then just hung up on me! Thanks for ruining my hair and treating me like crap, you unprofessional hairdressers. At least I have it on record now that you are not like other salons I researched on the web, where a complaint like mine is taken seriously, and to quote a line from Salon's better business practices, one should always attempt to refund an angry customer. Definitely being reported to the Delaware Better Business Bureau. Hanging up on me? Outrageously unprofessional.

I regrettably marked my calendar for the wrong date and missed the appointment. Without telling me, they took it upon themselves to charge my card $70.00! It was completely unauthorized and it was for 50 percent of services that I was not even going to get if I had shown up for the appointment. After talking to their GM, they refused to give any of it back. These people are sharks looking for money any way they can get it. Please look elsewhere before going and do not allow them to keep your credit card information; it will not turn out well for you! Brandon, try as you may to justify taking $70.00 from someone who is a loyal customer. You have skewed the facts and they are not true. I never get a blow out and I was scheduled for five foils. I should not be held accountable for your employee who booked it otherwise. I urge you to speak to Jenn. She will verify that I always walk out with wet hair. How you can justify doing this is beyond me, but I do intend to pursue the truth of what went on here in spite of your response. Customers, do not be fooled!

Wow wow wow! I cannot say enough great things about this salon and Stephanie…read more I was in town visiting my parents from Richmond ,Va, where I've had my hair done by the same woman for the past 7 years. I am in the process of moving, so decided to check out Salon 16 because I was in desperate need of a highlight and hair cut. I was very skeptical and apprehensive in having someone else do my hair, as mentioned I've been seeing the same woman for years. I am also very particular about my blonde hair, the toning/conditioning treatment, and all the fine toothing things that comes with bright blonde hair. I read amazing reviews about Salon 16 online and they were spot on. First off-Stephanie is amazing. Not just an amazing hair stylist, but incredibly friendly and personable; I really enjoyed talking with her for a couple of hours. I told her exactly what I wanted and she delivered! I had just about a full highlight, rounded long layer cut, toner, and a conditioning treatment. My hair came out absolutely beautiful and healthy. No brass, no yellow, no damage, and no over processing. It's really just perfect. Again, this was the first person to touch my hair aside from my normal hair dresser and I was blown away. The best part? It was leas than half of what I paid in Richmond. Normally I get the same services for a little over $400 with tip. $190 at Salon 16 and just a fantastic of a job. I highly recommended this salon and Stephanie if you are particular, have blonde hair, or on the fence about visiting...just go! 10/10

However, the manicure I got was really subpar. I got it yesterday and it's chipping today. It's gel which typically lasts two weeks. I think it was just a young, inexperienced manicurist. I am on the verge of tears. We are on vacation and wanted to bring my son for a back to school…read morehaircut for his first day of kindergarten and came across this salon right near the house we are staying at. I asked SEVERAL times if they do boys' haircuts and was told several times that they absolutely do. The girl who cut his hair, Laura, reassured me over and over that she does boys' cuts "all the time" but yet did not know what a skin fade was. I should have stopped her right then and there and taken him elsewhere but gave her the benefit of the doubt. I had to stand over her the entire time trying to get her to even out his hair and she kept switching tools literally every 10 seconds from straight razor to scissors to clippers with guard to smaller clippers etc etc. It was very clear she did not know how to do a boys cut from the beginning. All she had to say when we walked in and asked if they do boys hair was "no I'm sorry we really don't" and I would have thanked them and gone elsewhere. Don't say you can do a certain cut if you very obviously have absolutely no idea what you are doing. She did not shave any of the hairs on his neck and still had long hairs over his ears. I am completely in shock at how this can even happen at an establishment. I am so upset and the worst part is that they charged $25 for what should have been a 5 minute cut! She didn't even have to touch the top because we are growing it out!! Now I have to try and get him to his regular barber the night before school starts when we get home from vacation and pray they are able to fix this mess. I am hurt that someone has no issue doing this instead or just being honest. Please don't make the same mistake I did. I wrote this review to save the next boy from getting a botched up hair cut. The picture doesn't even fully show how uneven and not faded it is. It looks even worse in person!! My poor little guy

Two time now the stylist just wanted to cut my hair and not wash it. The first time she did it I didn't question ( I should have cause I was charged the full price). The second time I said no you have to wash it first. If wash and conditioning are factored into the price then I would expect to get it. Also, when I call to make appointments they frequently don't answer the phone. I always leave a message and don't get a call back. What kind of business is that? So needless to say I won't be returning! Btw I think $35.00 is kinda steep for a very short haircut that doesn't require any finishing products!
