I would rate at 0 if I could! We hired Chris to fix some tile in our master bathroom. The day of the job, he showed up worked about 20 minutes and told my husband he needed a tool and would be right back. When he returned he was there a few minutes and again told my husband he needed to go and would be back. He never returned, and we are left with a job that was started and not finished. He is not responding to text messages or phone calls from neither myself nor my husband. Funny thing, when he was bidding the job he made it a point to mention his bad reviews and say it wasn't his company it was another company with a similar name. Had loose tiles. Chris came over and instead of relaying the tiles with thin set he used an adhesive caulking. So the tiles were not installed back properly to the floor and I asked him numerous times if the grout was going to match he said yes. In the pictures I attached the grout isn't even close. I do not recommend this company. read more

Follow up - a year later. DO NOT waste your time with these guys. My grout has been in horrible shape. It is like they put a colored putty in there - it has come apart, peeled away, and my shower is a mess. I would have been much better off doing nothing to my shower. So figuring they would stand behind their work, I called them. Call #1 - Chris said he would get by for a look. Never called again, never came by. Call #2 - Left message with his father. No return call in three weeks. Call #3 - Left message with the father, got a ridiculous sob story about how the Uncle was trying to take over the business, and that is why Chris wasn't getting back to people. Huh??? Email #1 - Chris responds with this, "I am sorry I just can't help you, but I just don't have any free time, and Dallas is just too far out for me at this time". Now mind you, I offered every step of the way to pay Chris to get my shower right. So I wasn't looking for a handout. But as best I can tell, Chris will come to Dallas, take your money, do shoddy work and return to Tarrant County. He will not however, come back to Dallas to inspect, repair and correct his work. That is simply "too far out (away)" for him to travel. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - stay clear of this business. The final product, and future followup will wholly disappoint you. read more

I called Chris (Grout Worx) based on his reviews. He responded quickly, immediately gave me a very reasonable quote, and scheduled the job within 48 hours of my call. I needed the grout in two upstairs showers repaired. 1st shower was very straightforward and was quickly fixed. 2nd shower had some hidden damage that Chris found. He came back the next day, after taking home some tiles and cleaning them before is return. He repaired the additional damage at a small addition to the original bill. Very fair. We called Chris because he had great reviews. He came out, gave us a quote for the work we discussed. Scheduled the work to be done about two weeks later- he didn't remember what the work was so I sent him a picture of the quote. When he came out, he did not do the work which we discussed, but instead found some other issue (which now I am not actually sure was an issue) and supposedly fixed that and then told my husband he wasn't going to do what we originally talked about/were quoted for. He grouted over existing caulk in what I assume was an attempt to make it look like he pulled out the old and re-grouted everything. He put regular grout in areas that are supposed to have expandable joint caulk. He then charged my husband more than the original quote, even though he didn't even complete the work and refused to do the work he quoted for. When I attempted to contact him twice after he left asking for clarification on what work was done, he did not respond and basically did a cut and run. I would not recommend him to anyone. read more

I am selling my house so I need my tiles and grout to look like new. Chris came out and caulked all three bathrooms. It is partially my fault that I did not get a written estimate and then I did not do a close inspection of his work prior to paying him. He missed caulking places in two of the bathrooms. I can't find where he did anything to my grout. It is stained in places and needs cleaned/repaired before I sell the house. I called him about it and he said that they do not clean grout. That call was the first time I heard that a company with Grout in the title doesn't work on grout. We talked some more. He kept telling me that they don't clean grout. We came to an understanding that he would replace the grout if needed. He set an appointment for the next day that he would text me when he was on his way. I did not demand that he come the next day, he offered. He never showed up. The day after the missed appointment, I texted him and asked him if he forgot about our appointment. Chris responded that he was busy and found my estimate sheet and it doesn't say anything about grout cleaning (He never gave me a copy of the estimate sheet). This makes sense because as he said, they don't clean grout. And this is after me repeatedly telling him that I just was fine with him replacing the grout. I just want nice clean grout. He has lost all of my trust and I don't want someone that I can't trust in my home. I told him to forget about it and I would find someone else. I am now going to have to pay someone a second time for work that should have been done by Chris. Bottom line, he did a poor job. Did not fill my expectations at all, Made an appointment, did not show and did not bother to contact me that he wasn't coming until I contacted him the next day. I suspect that he decided that I was trying to get him to perform some free work. Clear communications between the contractor and customer would have avoided all of that. I certainly would have been willing to pay for any extra work. Instead, he chose to argue with me and not come back out as promised. read more

Called Chris for replacing some caulk that I thought was my leaking issue. Instead he immediately noticed the previous owner installed the wrong materials. He ripped out a few tiles and showed me the problem, set it up to dry, returned a few days later and finished the job. A small job turned slightly larger, but now our shower is right and not leaking. I was expecting the extra trip and work to cost a lot more and gladly would have paid it based on how great it looks. Instead Chris didn't increase the price much at all. He said he just wanted to get things right for us. Definitely went above and beyond and the results far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend Grout Worx. I called several individuals but because my job was so small, they refused to do the job. Then I called Chris Carr. He was out here at the time he said he would be (on time, I liked that) and he said he could have it done in an hour. He did it and it was perfect. You see, when I moved into my home in Trophy Club the AT&T person came before the movers and while I was outside he decided where everything needed to be installed. AT&T knocked holes in my beautiful tiles and I was beside myself when I finally came through the house and saw what he had done.
