Tree planting

After six months of waiting for GH to replace a tree they damaged during snow removal at our condo association, this is the result. The original tree was a 6-foot Red Maple that had been clearly marked to prevent damage. The replacement tree is significantly smaller, appears to be improperly planted, and cannot withstand even a light breeze without bending over. To make matters worse, the bamboo support stake is already broken, leaving the tree with no stability or support.Unfortunately, the poor workmanship isn't limited to the tree replacement. GH is also responsible for maintaining the landscaping at our association, and the condition of the surrounding grass speaks for itself--large areas are brown and dead. After months of delays, we expected a professional replacement that would restore what was damaged. Instead, we were left with a poorly planted tree and landscaping that reflects a lack of care and attention. Very disappointing experience.

Spent over 100k with them in 2023. TLDR: hardscape work was amazing, but bad experience with irrigation and planting beds. They don't stand by the quality of their work, will nickel and dime you, and customer service is horrible. Irrigation leaked from day 1. We complained 3 times in 2023. A tech came 3 times and tightened a clamp each time and told us it was not leaking. When they came to blow out for the winter the irrigation manager told me he identified a valve that was blowing air and he felt it was a crack or defect with the valve. Several plants - probably 8-10 of them, started to die in the fall. He assured me he would add notes to the account and fix everything in the spring, replace the dying plants, and add new mulch. Spring arrived, no one came. A tech showed up to reopen and test after winter. They never put notes on my account and over the winter the irrigation manager was fired. I explained everything, the tech found the same leaking valve and tightened the clamp again despite me telling him the manager said it needed to be replaced. During the visit the tech changed my watering schedule to increase the water by 4x. They did NOT tell me - now the struggling plants were totally dead due to the additional overwatering. I called the owner and complained - he said he'd never heard we had a problem and acted as if his company is not responsible just because he wasn't personally aware. He promised to handle it himself, but didn't show up. Another week later he sent someone different from the office, they brought a tech and fixed some valves that were stuck due to sediment (this part was no one's fault and would not have mattered given the 4x overwatering schedule they set) and told me the watering schedule was very wrong (as if I set it myself) - he didn't know his own tech set the schedule. They removed the schedule. Then they CHARGED $450 for the visit and did NOT replace any plants or mulch. Another couple weeks go by a new batch of plants stated to die. I found that a 100 sq ft area was no longer getting water b/c when they "fixed" things the last time they kinked an irrigation line. I hired an irrigation company to come take a look. This is their feedback: * the kink was easy to fix * there are too many drip nozzles for the area (by a large margin) * for example, there are drip tubes all over the bed even in places that never had a plant * some of the plants require more or less water depending on the location and type of plant - but they used the same 2gpm drips on every single plant from trees to tiny herbs - so some very small ones are dying due to overwater, and some big ones are struggling due to underwater * some of the plants were stuck in ledge with no soil - of course they will die - no one told us nor did anyone ask if we should put them in a different place or bring in more soil * one entire planting bed is at the bottom of a hill with grass and other beds with irrigation - all irrigation runoff ends up in the same planting bed, and that bed was put over hard-packed clay which is over ledge - there is zero drainage for plants, if you pull out a dead plant there is a hole filled with water that never drains - this area should have had crushed stone underneath with planting soil on top to let the bed drain We're going to do some of this ourselves and hire another company to fix the rest. The owner did offer to replace the plants "even though it's not their fault". He continues to act like he's not responsible just because he wasn't aware from the beginning - almost like "you never told me, it's too late now!". Now this last thing is just a nit but reflective of their customer service - we had mulch blown in the spring. They missed 3 spots. We called and they said someone would come out to fix. We reminded them twice via text. We reminded them when they were here to look at the irrigation and they said "I put in a ticket, no idea why they never came" and did nothing else about it. So going into October we still have bare spots with no mulch!

This is my backyard 8 weeks after Ground hog lawns care "fixed" my lawn.

Groundhog Turf Care had a lawn machine leak gasoline all over the back of my lawn. They weeks after the incident, they came out to fix my lawn. These pictures are eight weeks later. They keep charging me for their lawn service. I would pay if my lawn was fixed, but it is not. When I call their office to complain they insist they have fixed my lawn. And demand that I pay for their service. Horrible company only concerned about money. Not customer service. They might do good work, but if there is a problem this is how they handle things.

Leaves pine needles and sticks still everywhere

Victor and his team are nothing short of AMAZING! I've been using them for about 2yrs now,…read moreprimarily for landscaping maintenance. I've also used them for other projects (tree planting, lawn grading repair, crushed stone installation under a deck, and snow removal). Always spot on for timing as promised, quality of work, and just overall being fabulous people! My neighbors always comment on how nice my yard is---and I quickly credit victor and his team! I can't say enough good things about them! HIGHLY recommend!!

If I could give V&P Landscaping 10 STARS, I would! I hired V&P landscaping to redo a large patio…read moreand walkway that was in dire need of replacement. The patio was 1990's caved-in pavers, and the walkway was broken up concrete. V&P removed all the old pavers, concrete, and installed the new patio that came out beautiful, believe me, the attached pics do not do the beauty of the patio justice. V&P went above and beyond to ensure that the new patio was installed correctly, and built to last for years. The communication was excellent. Victor kept me updated on the scheduling to complete the job. The crew showed up on time, were efficient, respectful of my property, and left the work area clean at the end of each day! Most importantly, I am confident that now that the job is complete, V&P will promptly address any issues that may arise in the future. It is clear to me that V&P Landscaping takes pride in their work, and their years of experience shows in the finished project. I would highly recommend V&P Landscaping!

I recently had an in ground pool removed and the area needed significant landscape work. The demo…read morecontractor spread a level of sand over the area but did a poor job grading it out. I needed a landscaper with right right equipment who could grade out the dirt, spread and grade a significant amount of loom and seed the area. Alex from AB Landscaping quickly relied to my request and came out right away to review the job and provide a quote. I could easily tell in speaking with him that he was knowledgeable in his work, professional and would be a good guy for the job He arrived with his crew on time and was able to finish the job in a day. I asked to have the area hydro seeded but Alex put down regular seed and had his contractor put down the hydro seed the next day. Alex also came out a few weeks later as he promised he would to see how everything was going and put down some additional seed From start to finish Alex was great to work with. I am very satisfied with his work.

10/10 I would highly recommend Alex & team with AB landscaping for hardscape and paver stone design…read moreand install. From start to finish they did absolutely fantastic work. We are very pleased with the finished product and it was tricky terrain he had to work with. We needed some new hardscaping and walkway work done from old and deteriorated steps and rocks. Alex helped pull together our design ideas and picked perfect pavers to match our exterior. They worked hard each day showing up early and working through the day. They were very timely, kept the area very tidy and cleaned up each day before they left and very good price for a job well done. If you need hardscaping, stone work, irrigation, fencing, etc. don't hesitate to call Alex at AB landscaping.
