Called the night before to set up a ride. The driver was a few minutes late, but it wasn't a problem. The car was clean, smelled lovely and very comfortable. Good, friendly service. I'll definitely use them again. read more

I booked a town car to pick me up at MCI and take me to Lawrence. My flight landed over 45 minutes ago and sure, it was delayed, but 6 other car services made it to the gate on time and we're waiting for their passengers with their names on their iPads. I've gotten the run around and excuses and am now standing outside the airport for the driver who I seriously doubt is going to show. Fyi, GTS, get the app Flight Tracker. It will tell you exactly when my flight will arrive. Big huge waste of money. I should have taken the Super Shuttle. Update - driver showed and it turns out everything the dispatcher told me during my 3 phone calls to them was total BS. They messed up and were late. I would actually been Ok with that - I get it that mistakes happen - if they had just been honest with me. This was a total waste of $95 bucks. Super Shuttle would have gotten me there quicker and wouldn't have given me the run around. Also - a really nice driver waiting for a passenger from another flight from 5 Guys Transport was able to get another car for me but GTS couldn't give me a straight answer on when the driver would actually be arriving so I had to decline - but next time I'm using them. read more

Usually takes appx 30-40 min for the taxi to come after you call, which is understandable. To avoid that wait, today I called 4 hours prior to schedule a pick-up. It's been over 20 minutes since the scheduled pick-up time and the taxi still isn't here and I will undoubtedly be late to my appointment because of poor planning on GTS' part. I'm going to use another service from now on that is more reliable. read more

When you call for a taxi, what you are expecting at a minimum is reliability. Trust and communication play into this expectation as well which GTS was lacking during my first experience with them. I called them and requested a pick up. I was told that a cab will be at my residence in 15-20 mins. 40 later nothing. I call them back and politely asked if a taxi is on the way and the guy that answered the phone excitedly said 'oh yes, you're next' like he was reading from a script on how to keep customers at bay. I calmly hung up and waited patiently. 50 minutes later no taxi. I called back and was placed on hold. I called back again and once I heard the 'operator' I sincerely asked 'Hey, can I get an ETA on the taxi that was supposed to take 15-20 minutes to get to my residence?' The operator angrily said 'listen, I don't know when it's going to get to you. I sent a taxi there to pick you up and it will be there soon." Then he hurriedly hung up. Here's a few suggestions for GTS to really let the community know that they are a good company: 1-Be honest/truthful in the estimated time of pickup. When you set an expectation and break it, it does damage. 2-Communicate if a situation is out of your hands. If a taxi is not going to be expected at the suggested time, let the customer know. Call them! It makes a huge difference. Call you customer and tell them why there's a delay: traffic, a previous customer is causing issues, etc. 3-Just show that you care! Who wants to support a company that builds a negative image? You won't be the first on my list to call for awhile. read more

Ground Transportation is a great shuttle service to get around Lawrence. Every experience I've had with them is awesome, particularly with Debbie. I love Debbie. She's willing to alter her routes last minute and she is very cooperative and friendly along the way. I've taken a lot of cabs in my day and this service is easily the quickest and best around town. read more

Tried to make a taxi reservation for this weekend. The guy who answered the phone was very uninformed and unhelpful, then left me on hold for several minutes to confer with his manager. When he came back to the call he basically told me they had decided not to accommodate my request. Obviously, this is their right, but the interaction was about as unprofessional as imaginable. I called Hite Transportation and they were immediately able to accommodate our group. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Worst cab company in town. I was kicked out of the cab, in the middle of the night because the I told the driver that they were driving erratically. The driver was speeding and in such a way that I felt for my own safety. When I continued to communicate this they got mad and kicked me out. Unprofessional. I have used them twice for business (RT to KCI) and everything went fine. I used them once for a personal KCI trip and it went very wrong. Be aware that there is no way to contact them after hours. You do no know your driver's name or phone number. If plans change, you can not contact them. And when they changed plans on a snowy night, they did NOT CONTACT US. We were left stranded at KCI at midnight. I understand why it was too dangerous to drive. But I expected them to let us know instead of leaving us alone and uninformed at the airport. read more

The dispatcher was completely rude and unprofessional. I called at 7:50pm to reserve a ride for work at midnight. She rudely told me that there were no reservations for Saturday nights and that I would be able to have a taxi at my place if I called 40 minutes before I needed the ride. I was thrown off by the attitude but no reservations is understandable. I called back at 11:01pm. Same lady answered. I told her I needed a ride for me to get to work by midnight so if she could have a car at my place around 11:40 that would be awesome. She said that I shouldn't expect special treatment of having a specified time to be picked up and that a taxi would get to me when they could. Really not happy with this response but I needed a ride so I went with it. 11:42pm rolls around and still no taxi. I called back to the same dispatcher and asked where my car was. She told me that I "hadn't called early enough" and blamed the fact that I didn't have a taxi there on me. This infuriated me. I told her this isn't my fault and walked her through the previous 2 paragraphs, emphasizing that I followed her instructions to a T. She responded by saying that there was still another fare in front of me and it would be another 20 minutes before a taxi would be there for me. I decided to call another taxi service and use the time waiting for them to figure out how to explain to my boss why I was late and to not penalize me. The other taxi service still got there before GTS's would have. read more

These guys diverted their route at the last minute, and picked me up after another shuttle service blew off my reservation and left me high and dry. The driver was friendly and helpful, the vehicle was clean, and they got me to the airport on time. Thanks to them, I made my flight. read more

I really appreciate the wonderful airport transportation provided by GTS. When I called to set up my pick-up, a very nice lady took my information and explained the service to me. Then, they called to confirm the day before. The best part, however, was the call I received when they found out my flight had been cancelled--they were on top of things before I was! I was met at the gate, and had a very pleasant, and safe ride to Lawrence from the airport. As a woman traveling alone, I truly appreciate having a company like this available. We actually live in Manhattan, but do not have an airport shuttle that I will use, so this is our alternative--they will take me to anywhere I would like in Lawrence, and then, my family comes from Manhattan to pick me up. read more

This is the worst taxi service I've ever had the misfortune to use. Even when you call to reserve a pick-up time hours in advance, they still manage to be consistently late--a minimum of 30 minutes!! At least two of the drivers are incredibly rude and charged me extra (a phantom fee) -- Save yourself money and grief; use a different company!! read more

I have used this service a few times to and from Kansas City airport. Each time had an issue of some sort. This last one was the worst. On prior occassions they were late picking up. I have waited hours at both ends. This last time the flight was delayed and they cancelled me outright. I had to take a cab for lots and lots of money. Don't offer the service if you are going to leave people high and dry. You have to anticipate that a flight might be delayed now and then. read more

I had a terrible experience using GTS. I would not recommend them to anyone. I had booked and paid for a ride home from the airport 5 weeks in advance, and had made contact the day prior to my flight to confirm. When I arrived at the airport, I called the dispatcher as instructed. They told me that the ride would be there shortly. Thirty minutes later, there was still no shuttle and when I called to inquire, the same dispatcher was extremely rude and told me that the shuttle would be there soon but refused to give me an ETA. I tried to contact their manager, but the dispatcher would not cooperate. I ended up telling them that I no longer needed their services and requested a refund. I ended up using Uber to get home. When I was home (one hour drive from the airport) I was contacted by the same dispatcher who said that my driver had finally arrived at the airport. I spent the next two weeks trying to get in contact with the manager. She informed me that the company was aware of this dispatchers behavioral problems and they were looking in to refunding my ride. However, every time I call there is an excuse of why they still have not been able to resolve this issue and provide me the refund. It has now been three weeks and I have yet to receive my money back. I would highly discourage anyone to rely on this company, especially if you are hoping to get where you need to be in a timely manner. If you wish to be treated with respect, as any paying customer should be, I would suggest using another means of transportation. read more
