It's a fairly trendy spot, and it was packed on Friday night. Still the service was timely, the food was great, and the atmosphere lively. I had the "Hamshuka" which is minced beef and lamb, surrounded with hummus and a spicy sauce that gave it some kick. Excellent. If you're in this neighborhood, give Neni a shot, you won't regret it.

Wow good lord this food is fantastic…read more My friend Sahil and I came here on a weekday and were seated at the bar without a wait. We were lucky- the place was packed! It was really fun sitting at the bar- you could watch all the cooks do their thing and we were highly entertained. Sahil ordered the Sabich and I order a hummus trio with a side of falafel. It was more than enough food. The Sabich looked beautiful and whatever magic they did to the aubergine was fantaaaaastic. They were crunchy and wonderful. The falafel were also beautifully done and came with a side of wonderful sauce that I can't remember the name of now. I was also really impressed with the hummus trio. All three were very different and large portions. I kept picking a new favourite, it was hard to choose. We got beet, mango, and I think the regular. Fantastic flavours, really great waitstaff, and a freaking amazing experience overall. I'll be back!

The restaurant is located within a meticulously restored historic structure, and its interior is appointed with sophisticated furnishings and subdued lighting. Baur's is renowned for its inventive cuisine, inspired by the flavors of Switzerland and ,worldwide, and is prepared with seasonal, fresh ingredients. Among the frequently shifting signature dishes are the following: This entree of seared scallops accompanied by black truffle and caviar is a wealthy and abundant way to commence a meal. The black truffle and caviar add a touch of indulgence to the perfectly cooked scallops. This traditional dish, roasted duck breast with foie gras and blackberries, is elevated through premium ingredients and Baur's signature cooking methods. The duck breast is rendered immaculately cooked, while the foie gras and blackberries contribute a luscious and flavorful intricacy. Lobster tenderloin prepared with Wagyu beef and truffle sauce is a sensory delight. Incredibly tender and juicy Wagyu beef complements a lobster and truffle sauce that is opulent and decadent. This dessert at Baur's combines chocolate mousse, raspberry coulis, and hazelnut praline to create the ideal ending to a meal. With a touch of sweetness and crunch, the raspberry coulis and hazelnut praline complement the chocolate mousse, which is light and airy. Apart from the main course, Baur's provides a tasting menu showcasing the chef's most recent gastronomic innovations. A selection of wines from the restaurant's extensive wine list--more than 600 varieties from around the globe--is paired with each tasting menu item. At Baur's, the service is impeccable. The knowledgeable and attentive staff goes above and beyond to ensure that each diner has an unforgettable experience. Overall, Baur's is an establishment of international caliber that provides diners with an indelible palette. Elegant and refined in ambiance, the food and service are both of the highest caliber. It comes highly recommended to anyone in Zurich seeking a banquet venue for a special occasion.

We walked in during a Sunday brunch without a reservation. Luckily, the staff was very sweet and made the accommodations work to be able to seat us immediately. However, I'd recommend making a reservation in the future! The restaurant quickly filled up, and others were not so lucky. We had the French toast and the cauliflower bowl. The cauliflower bowl was tasty, however, it was served cold, which I was not expecting! Meanwhile, the French toast was incredible!

But Pergola's less exterior presence doesn't mean that interior offerings are less worthy though one could say the interior furnishings are a-okay/kind of dated. In fact, all meat and fish lovers who love a hard bargain should come to Pergola instead. Pergola is great when you are with some friends or family, feeling ravenous and want to be feed with great meat and fish/squid dishes without falling over the bill. Pergola is Italian/Portuguese food, so you cannot do wrong with one or the either. Be careful - the menu is quite extensive too. For the starters I would highly recommend the Sepia (Squid). Enough to nibble between 2-3 people, but they do serve this as a main course with Spanish rice. For the main, depending on what you like, get either the sepia/fish or go for the meat! I ordered a steak entree for two and received a portion so generous I was ready to call up my other friend to come over and help me finish it. The steak entree for two was nicely served in two courses, so that while you are eating the first portion, the second portion is sitting in a warm area, so that when you are served again you are still eating a very nice meal. This type of good service with reasonable prices and tasty, well portioned food is not something you will find much of in Zurich. The customers are in general pretty friendly so don't worry about chatting up someone in another group behind/across from you. The service is very good and I'd recommend a reservation since it was busy.
