    That's wassup

I hit up this Lebanese joint in Zurich for lunch. Lebanese? In Zurich? Yuuup. It turned out to be the best lunch in Zurich...quick service, nice Swiss beer selection, giant plates of salad and deelish chicken kebabs (awesome marinate and grilled to perfection). It was located right next to my high-end hotel in a popular plaza, so you can people-watch all day. Who ain't love looking at hot chicks shake it whilst walking on by? Be like Louis R, travel to Switzerland.

Have I never reviewed this place? Shocked! It's one of my fave eateries in Zürich! Anyhow, the bottom line is THE SERVICE SUCKS! The food rocks! As a stickler when it comes to proper service, I would normally never return to this place, but when bad service is often the norm and for a lack of better Lebanese or Middle-Eastern options, I begrudgingly return. So, I would definitely suggest a feast of Mezzes - Middle Eastern tapas. The Turks and others do them too. There are also main courses on the menu and the servers will consistently try to sell you a shish kebab on the side, but ordering a potpourri of Mezzes for the table to share is fun fun fun. Everything on the mezze menu is downright amazing. I ALWAYS order the hummus with hot chopped lamb on top. A super smooth, tahini-rich hummus with finely chopped meat to be eaten with the flat bread that is served with the mezzes. There are also some others that I am in the habit of ordering. The Labneh - a super rich, very thick yogurt with a natural sweetness to counter the sour of natural yogurt, with garlic, mint and extra virgin olive oil. Also, the deep-fried cigar-shaped savory pastries stuffed with either meat or cheese are super crunchy munchy. Damn I love the food here, but the waiters (one of them is always the same guy) are always so brutish, rude and unhappy. They never get a tip from this stickler! Also try the Almaza Lebanese beer. Perfect with mezzes! Oh ya, and don't order the mezze sampler. They serve mostly veggie mezzes and, I suspect the cheaper ones. Just pick a few fun ones that tickle your fancy. 4 for 2 people is already a good amount of grub!

    Mezze for 4!

Truly delicious Lebanese mezze. We had four for dinner, and the mezze for 4 was an incredible spread --- the obvious hoummus and baba ganoush, plus fried eggplant in yoghurt, a giant artichoke, several small fried packages, a sun-dried tomato dip, feta-like cheese over tomatoes... The competition for outside tables is stiff, and there's contention over the inside tables by the windows (where we ended up) --- but there was no problem getting a table further inside. Price was quite reasonable, given the spread --- figure CHF ~35 per person. Most of the waitstaff was moving as fast as they could, and keeping up well; one waiter giving directions (either management, or thinks he is) took it a little further and couldn't be bothered to be mellow with customers. If you want someone to take a picture of the table, choose one of the waitresses. We'll definitely be back --- we've sampled 14 little plates, but there are some big ones to try.

Great Lebanese food to savour when in town, price is slightly on a med-high scale. Ready to pay chf 60 for a mezze platter for 2 people. We love Le Cedre because of the quality of food, never disappoint with the taste. There are tables outside the restaurant on a sunny day overlooking the streets, very nice location. There are two Le Cedre in town, we have been in both. In term of service, it is slow when there are a lot of customers but we never had been unhappy with the service.

Super friendly staff, delicious food you can either share a plate and get a little bit of everything or you mix and match your own. Everyone will be happy meat lovers and vegans you all find something :)

    Tasty mezza

Prime location, decent food but very rude staff. Disappointing because it can really damper the mood of a group

While I would personally suggest staying away from the mezze platters as the portions are rather small and instead ordering à la carte, they are a great way to sample multiple mezze.

Very good libanese restaurant with outstanding friendly and funny service:)…read more We ordered the mezze for two for starters, every dish was delightful, I especially enjoyed th hummus, probably the best I've ever had:) We followed up the mezze with some lamb, which also tasted really good:) We'll be back for sure!

There was no cellphone signal in this restaurant! :(…read more But the food was nice, and our group of 5 could linger and chat over a leisurely dinner. We ordered the Mezze for 5 people for CHF 173. It was a mix of hot and cold dishes, mostly vegetarian, but some had meat. I liked the variety of food. Not sure what everything was, but there was hummus, some ground meat wrapped in dough and deep-fried, eggplant, flat green beans, some spicy dishes, potato, and falafel among them. And it came with unlimited warm pita bread. I got a glass of prosecco to start, and our table shared a bottle of red wine. I had a bowl of rice pudding for dessert. It was thick and creamy with a light taste and topped with a generous amount of caramel rosewater sauce. Mmm... Dinner was really yummy, suitable for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike, and a nice taste of Lebanese food. The server was really nice and spoke a bit of English, but mostly German. We split the bill 5 ways, and it came out to about CHF 70 each, which included tip. And they let us each pay separately using our credit cards with no problems.
