Erica, my hygienist, educated me on my gum health, and noticed signs of wear on my teeth due to clenching; which I imagine I do when I'm sleeping. Erica took photos of each tooth, measured my gums, and validated that my oral hygiene practices at home are on par. During my examination, we saw signs of decay, and there was enough time in the schedule for me to start the process of placing a crown on my tooth. From the moment Dr. James numbed me to the moment my temporary crown was placed, I was treated with the utmost care. The team remembered my son, who visited not too long ago, and were as joyful and relatable as can be. They even offered me a cozy blanket during my procedure! I mean, who does that? Pecan Park Family Dentistry does! All in all, though it was my first time at their practice, I was made to feel like family. Like I was being taken care of by my girlfriends, and I am beyond grateful to have crossed paths with them!

There is only one Dr. to choose from now but, they still have Dr. Wong in their vm system so, when I initially booked I thought I would have more than one option but, that's not the case. The link for their new patient paperwork didn't work and I never received a call from a hygienist. That was actually fine because I had actually forgotten my questions and figured I could just ask during my visit. The person I spoke to, Miranda while very sweet seemed flustered at all my questions on the phone and rushed me off deferring me to get a call back. I get it, the office was likely busy but ...don't offer a call back that you can't follow through on! I emailed back and forth a couple times regarding the call back within the span of a week's time and, after being told they were about to call that Friday morning and then they never did, I just let it go. Not that important. It seems like the best deal in town but, I started to think that maybe you get what you pay for and, while I'm sure the one Dentist here is very experienced and they stay very busy, I'd be concerned about the quality of care considering how they handled me on the phone. The second person I booked with was more patient and we I actually got confirmation texts and emails unlike the first attempt with Miranda. She also helped me cancel with no question or issue. I just can't take a gamble on my teeth no matter how tempting the pricing might be. I just found Austin Dental Spa. They offer Care Credit and have two very experienced Dentists (a male and a female option) so, they are my next stop to get my teeth the cleaning and care they deserve. Thanks, anyway Pecan Park! I appreciate that your first appointment is thoroughly checking your baseline and you can see over your next cleanings what progress needs to be made and they track it for you. They have the coolest 3D imagery technology too. I also had my teeth whitened (over $1000) for my wedding and it whitened my teeth 2 -2 &1/2 levels which made a difference in the close up pictures! Because of them I'm more motivated to floss because I want to improve my progress! They are also incredible about trying to respect your time and schedule you if you have an emergency.
