I asked a friend whose dog had an adorable cut. She raved about Groomingbells as she has been going there for forever! When I called it was during the summer of the pandemic and I spoke to Victor. He told me to bring Cinnamon right over. Very Covid friendly. Victor came right out to my car and scooped him in his arms. Cinnamon whose normally skiddish was wagging his tail in Victor's arms. I have seen the bad reviews on here about Groomingbells and though I am sympathetic as a dog owner and lover, I cannot see how the groomers have caused the sicknesses that were mentioned. However, we are all entitled to our own opinions and I have felt the need to voice mine. I have been a very happy customer of Groomingbell's for about 5 years. My dog had been going to another grooming service previously and I believed he had either been hit and/or drugged during the service. His normally friendly demeanor was somewhat fearful and he was also very drowsy afterwards and so we came to Groomingbell's. Since going to Groomingbell's, they have always done his cut perfectly (they keep the style that you like on an index card and make sure to get it right every time - I like their filing system). My dog also loves Victor - the owner. He always appears very happy and playful upon coming back and remains in good spirits as though he was well taken care of the whole time. I am very picky about taking my dog anywhere, and he's so happy with Victor that I have even gone away and paid Victor to watch him over the weekends - he never comes back with any scratches and Victor updates me via text (sms and videos) to show how happy he is - who else does that for a reasonable price? I take one a star off because I kind of freaked out the first time that I left him with Victor and I couldn't find him when I went to pick him up - but that was for about 15 minutes, he was just late. Since then he has kept me up to date so that I am ok. He works in a timely fashion and has remained as my one and only groomer for my dog. I appreciate that when he says one hour, he calls and returns my dog in one hour - if you want to leave your dog somewhere to air dry or sit in a cage, this is not the place and that is not the responsibility of a grooming service. Victor did an AMAZING job with Sammie!! Honestly it had been a while since Sammie had gotten a proper haircut his hair was very uneven and matted. Despite the craziness of the holidays Victor was awesome in trying to accommodate me I was able to get my doggo groomed the same day.Everywhere else had turned us away. I am sooo glad I called Groomingbelles! Previously I had brought him to other groomers who were not able to properly shave Sammie around his private area due to some matting but they were make him nice and clean and include ALL areas Victor seriously worked some MAGIC when I dropped Sammie off Victor said "leave it to me I promise I'll have him looking good" and he did not disappoint. BAD GROOMER Nasty Most people don't write things up when a groomer is so bad so you don't see that bad reviews. The owner is very nice at first but watch out. He always wants cash and can be nasty if he doesn't get it. The first few times were good. But when we brought the fog there the last time we paid with a credit card. My dog was nicked by them and developed an infection from that. Obviously not a sanitary place and I wonder if he did it deliberately. He said we can bring the dog to him anytime with no appointment to cut their nails between grooming. But when we did he got very nasty and refused to cut her nails. As a result he lost both our dogs as clients. If you decide to chance it make sure you have cash to pay him. But be careful because he can turn nasty and spiteful at any time. Worst is he hurt my dog and I'm not sure if it was an accident. My dogs never got hurt when groomed until we went to Groomingbells. Be smart and go to another groomer. read more

I have to say that every experience thus far has been a really good one. My dog is wagging her tail as I open the door to drop her off and just as energetic and playful when i pick her up. The service is amazing. I have a busy schedule so I was really happy they were able to fit me in on such short notice. The owner is super accommodating and even offers free follow-up nail trimming in between cuts. The best part is that the dogs are not in kept in crates. Also, you can see them as they work on the dogs since the work stations are completely visible. I generally call ahead and make an appointment so I know my dog won't be waiting long. My little girl looks so amazing and her coat is really shiny. Her nails trimmed and her ears nice and clean. Another great experience. read more

Twice I took my 4lbs Yorkie here his hair cut was nice the first time the second time not so much... I understand we are at a challenging,overwhelming,crazy ,scary time right now but you run a business you choose to keep your business going I commend you because our pups need care as well.... Called here because I live in the area and noticed this place was one of the only local groomers to groom cats. My cat has a lot of long hair that became matted. This was not a problem for Victor who allowed me to come in the following morning. I was totally pleased with his work and his knowledge on how to manage her coat for the future was helpful as well. He even sent me a video of my cat getting a bath and I was happy to see how calm she was and how gentle he was with her. I have been using Victor for many years, unfortunately my beloved dog Bree died from cancer, when my husband and I told him she had terminal cancer and this would be her last grooming he and his brother-in-law took 2 beautiful pictures of Bree unbeknownst to my husband and me. He called at the end of the day to ask if he could come over to our home. of course I said yes and presented us with two gorgeous pictures of Bree, we couldn't believe what a magnificent loving gesture that was. Fast forward my husband never ever wanted another dog but my house felt so lonely and sad so I decided to adopt a rescue who was very abused and on her way to the ACC in Manhattan to be put down, I knew it was going to be a challenge and it was the best thing I ever did, however due to the abuse she suffered she was thrown out of two groomers even her own veterinarian is scared of her. I was very hesitant to bring her to Victor because honestly I didn't want him to get bit my her. In my desperation I explained her background and we both agreed to give it a shot..he told me to bring her in the first thing in the morning which I did and after two hours of biting my nails I didn't get that call from previous groomers after ten minutes to come get her because they couldn't handle her.. well guess what? I got a call 2 hours later which was an excellent sign and when I went to pick her up she looked beautiful but most importantly happy. I honestly believe Victor is truly a dog whisperer and I am so very grateful for him. No matter what her special needs are, he makes sure she's taken care of and more! GREAT GREAT GREAT!! A huge thank you to Victor at Groomingbells for the amazing job they did on my 2 huge Akitas. It's been 'quite some time' since they've gotten anywhere near a proper grooming! It's been 3 weeks already and they STILL smell and look amazing! One of my dogs is a big 85 lb 12 year old. She has very bad arthritis in her hips and has trouble standing for any long period of time. Of course I was worried about how'd she'd do with grooming but Victor took such great care of her as well as did such a great job. Not at all a great experience for me or my dog. Did not get what i asked for,.toes where not done,ears where not done squared like I asked for on my toy poodle. I got home he would not open his eyes,eyes lids where red ,irritated.His ear had a cut,that i was not told about. he kept scratching as if he had fleas. We love Victor at Groomingbells in Oceanside, NY! He is so kind and patient! Today was my dogs first time at the groomer. We have used victor before for our precious dog. Victor said she should be done in an hour and half. However it took him a lot longer because my dog was so scared and nervous. It is the saddest thing to see- when both of your dogs are breathing like it may be their last. It was a blessing in disguise because I wish that I had brought my baby to Groomingbells sooner! Victor took the time to make sure my dog was comfortable before I left her, and thoroughly explained their process to me after getting acquainted with my dog. You can tell that Victor and his staff genuinely care about what they do and know and understand dogs better than any groomer I've ever been to.
